I went there with my family. Start off with the reception, they welcomed us very nice and polite. My grandma loves the welcome drink very much! The rooms are very clean and give the Lanna kinda vibe! The decorating around hotel as well as in our room is very nice and beautiful. I really enjoy our breakfast which there are both authentic Thai dishes from central and northern! YES, I MEAN NORTHERN THAI DISHES! I rarely saw breakfast buffet line with local food from other hotel except Smile Lanna! Overall, my family would like to give more than excellent!
We stayed 5 nights end of December. Rooms are big, well designed and beautiful. Swimming pool with controled temperature, which allowed us to enjoy it despite cool weather. Buffet breakfast was OK and staff provided a good service. Location is good and we even had the chance to chat with the owner. In the morning, some activities are organised for the kids. There were no lunch/dinner service due to covid-19 situation. We would definitely stay again.
We stayed in February, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a good location, easy to walk to everything you need or want in Chiang Mai. The room was large and very comfortable, couldn’t fault it. As a new hotel there were just a few small things that need improving like no information booklet in the room, with details of breakfast etc. The internet cut out frequently. The pool area and gardens are beautiful, however they could do with more loungers and chairs around the pool. We would stay again.
We booked this hotel because it looked interesting and a bit quirky in the pictures. We were not disappointed: the hotel is nicely decorated and designed and has a lovely swimming pool (although it’s a shame they don’t serve any alcohol). The rooms were quite okay and the King XL bed was huge and very comfortable. Staff was lovely.
Stayed here for 4 nights and was really pleased that we did. We felt like valued guests from start to finish and the staff were friendly (it felt genuine too) and very helpful if ever we needed them. Our room was clean, spacious and opened directly onto the pool at ground level which was great. The pool was warm and really relaxing to sit by. Breakfast options (buffet) were varied so plenty to please all tastes and diets - we didn’t eat in the restaurant at all so can’t comment on the other dining. The location of the hotel was really great for us as we felt connected to the old town but not right in the centre of it - note that the crossing situation in Chiang Mai is a bit tricky and takes some getting used to (especially the big roads) but there is a pedestrian crossing just by the hotel. In fact it’s the only crossing we found that worked so that’s very good!! In general we thought that the Smile Lanna was great value for money and we felt very at home here - a perfect place to relax and have pool days but also delve into the city whenever we wanted. We would return and would recommend it also. Our only negative point would be that the fitness room was full of equipment so a little tricky to use when more than 2 people and also could do with something to wipe down the machines before/after use. …
