The room is clean and spacious enough. The breakfast is moderate. The location is great, closed to Nimman area and not away from CMU convention hall. The price is reasonable to quality and room condition. Anyway, highly recommended
Empire is really a very nice place to stay. Large room all clean and we enjoyed being there. Breakfast is full meal and for the price $64 for tjhe two of us a night breakfast included it was excellent.
The accommodations location is good, there are many restaurant & cafe around. Morning breakfast is ok. A plane’s sound is too noisy, we were disturbed by them and made us wake up around 3-4 times !!!! must have ear plugs !!!!
My wife and I needed one night stay and most of the other hotels were booked or very expensive. The rate was very reasonable and it had a small parking garage for our car. The room was older decor but you can tell from pictures and this does not matter to us. The room was clean, check in was easy and had a nice balcony. The location is perfect, right in the middle of nimman so you can easily walk to many locations for whatever you need.
I was having a rush trip to Chiang Mai in October. And I was decided to book with this hotel due to my latest trip in Chiang Mai and the location is perfect. Room is super size, but need some refurbished and touch-up due to their high occupancy. The hotel is located on Nimman Road and everything are on walking distance. Bank, convenience shop and shopping complex just within their reached. I was renting a car and they have enough parking space for their guests on basement. Breakfast is compliment with a few choice of foods, but can be completed my empty stomach. Bathroom is nice with small amenities with daily refill. Good to stay in the budget and recommended for short trip in Chiang Mai
I was left in the dark inside the ground floor toilet when an unknowing housekeeping staff. Tip: Tell the front desk staff you're going to use the bathroom. That will indirectly tell them not to switch off the lights.
Top marks for location, cleanliness and staff friendliness. Hotel is very reasonably priced for visiting tourists but could be considered slightly above average if you know Chiang Mai and the Nimman areas which this is located in. It's a very large building (beautiful buidling front) and well maintained but is somewhat soulless. AS it is located in the trendy Nimman area you may prefer to stay at a smaller, more boutique hotel or guest house in the area with more character as there are many to choose from. However, if thats not an issue then you cant go wrong staying here. Room is very clean and reasonably well equipped. I was in a standard double room with fridge, some cutlery and hairdryer. Iron not included, which is not unusual in Thailand. The hotel offer laundry service but there are several street side laundry options which are very cheap. Gusts are provided with wifi password slips for each device so ask or multiples of these when checking in to cover all the devices you have. Log in lasts for 7 days and I was very please with the speed. Streamed a few movies and never had any issues. Breakfast was pretty weak - small selection of asian and western food in a buffet but would recommend the asian food and the western food seemed a bit of an after though (toast, eggs, hotdogs and ham slices) and were always freezing cold as they had sat out for a long time. …
My mother has been staying at Empire Residence for a few years in a row during winter months. She keeps coming back, as it is very centrally located, her room is big, all the staff are extremely friendly to her. For years, the hotel has had the same staff, which is unusual for Chiang Mai, but a very good sign.
Quite central in location but just off the main road to be quiet. Check in was quick. The room I got was big--big bedroom with queen-sized bed, kitchen, dining table, couch. Good thing the curtains are thick because one can occasionally hear airplanes landing or taking off overhead. Breakfast is buffet and quite substantial, however, one has the same choices everyday so for my one week stay, it got boring. Pet peeve though: having to log in each and every time one wants to use the (free) wi-fi, even if you last used it a few minutes ago. No full length mirror. Big bathroom. No tub. Would I stay here again? Probably not...if only to try the hundred or so other hotels in Chiang Mai.
Rooms are big. Check inn quick. Breakfast asian style , in center located ! Internet : need to login always would change that !! Rooms are clean . Some noise from airplanes and motorbikes on streets .
