Pros: Quiet and clean. Located close to several markets and good restaurants. The most notable feature is how big the rooms are for the price. The AC works well. My room had a fridge and a TV which was nice. The couple is friendly and helpful. Cons: The wifi is a little spotty on the top floor. The decor and furniture... More

We stayed 10 days in March 2014. The location (3 minutes walk from the moat at Moonmuang Soi 9) is great for anyone wanted to get acquainted with the downtown area. The Britannia does not have their own in-house restaurant but that's not a problem -- many nice places to eat within a short walk (50-100 meters). The Britannia staff... More

Stayed as a family with our one yr. old son in Feb 2015. Guesthouse room was quite spacious (we had the largest room with a King bed). Ours also had a pleasant small balcony which overlooked the street. Good laundry service (30Baht/kg)--clothes came back nicely dried and folded. Many restaurants and cafes very close by. Room not too noisy, though... More

Great that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your kind rating. We are sorry to have raised the matter of noise with you but we have to consider all of our guests so we were obliged to speak to you about it. Our bulding is of solid concrete construct so heavy footfalls and running around does transfer to... More

Based on previous TripAdvisor reviews, I booked this establishment in October 2014 for my January 2015 stay. I booked an executive room for 2 weeks via Expedia. I arranged a taxi from the airport to the hotel only 150 baht. I arrived at the hotel around 1pm and was greeted by a warm welcome from the Husband and wife team... More

This year will be out 4th visit to Thailand and as a rule I use booking.com to book all our hotels The one fear I always have is arriving at a hotel just to find that they did not receive my booking or something similar (has never happened before as Booking.com is excellent) as a rule you do not receive... My stay at Britannia Guesthouse was outstanding. No question which could not be answered, each advise I asked for was fully given, very friendly hosts. I booked a trip directly at Britannia for a really good price, for which you will get a free transfer to the train-, bus station or the airport when leaving. I did not make use... More

Large clean room (positive). Good Location. Overpriced for Chiang Mai considering the quality of the place. Cheap uncomfortablerickety furniture in the room. The owners seem to get great pleasure from ordering their guests around. The whole building is full of fussy notes telling us what we can and cannot do. In my room alone there were five. When I stay... More

Very difficult to respond for Mr and Mrs Fusspot as were we not given any opportunity to discuss your concerns before your departure. Honest attempts to communicate are always appreciated and I am sure we could have ironed out any problems that you may have encountered. Our 'rickety furniture' is being progressively replaced as we redecorate and upgrade our rooms... More

Perfectly located with most things within reasonable walking distance. Friendly owners and the place has a nice family vibe (good if you want to explore and then return to peace and quiet). Our room was light and breezy, we didn't need to use the a-con once with the blinds open. Good food nearby, but seek out the authentic Thai places,... More
