We stayed at Julie's for 4 nights after a recommendation from a friend. We booked a triple room with private bathroom. Our room was at the back of the building, away from the communal area so it was quite quiet. The beds weren't very comfortable but the room was bright and colourful. The only downside was that the room was... More

Julies is a crowded place so better book in advance. The room fares are really fair, we payed 260 for a private double with bathroom and fan (in november you really don't need aircon here). The best about the guesthouse is the service, you can book any tour or transport and it does not seem to be cheaper anywhere else... More

My friend and I stayed one night only, we shared a double room with shared bathroom. The place itself is really nice, hippie style, colourful rooms, nice common areas. Very cheap, good for low budget travellers. Rooms are fine, bathrooms could be cleaner, the restaurant offers many Thai and Western dishes - good price. Common area/restaurant is great to meet... I don't understand how this place has good reviews. Yes it's cheap but the the place is dirty. The floors in the bathroom were black and smelt unbearable. Also the staff are unfriendly they just don't care! Would not recommend this is the worst hostel I have stayed in!

Julies is spotlessly clean, the fan 10 bed bunk room cooled with 3 fans at top bunk height & 2 big pedestal fans for lower bunks with the window constantly open for circulation so on the 3 visits I have had it never smelt. There is plenty of room in the dorm for 10 packs regardless of how much space... More

Went to this place because some people recommended it and Was happy to listen. I will recommended it to anyone who wants to chill and meet people. The lobby is Just a big chill place and then there is the rooftop with lots of beds and a hammic put there to relax

This is for Julie's guest house 2. (Number 1 is more social) I stayed here for 2 nights in Chiang Mai. I enjoyed my stay here as I met a lot of lone backpackers like myself. This is by no means the most sociable hostel nor the nicest but it is cheap and offers great trips out with good discounts.... More

If you can get in to Julie's guesthouse 1 then that's slit better, social backpackers everything you could want as a solo traveller, or paired! The guesthouse 2 is where I stayed, staff friendly all clean but a but quieter, location great (almost better than JG1). Fewer opportunities to meet as a smaller social area! Guesthouse 2 is dorms only,... More

The room was small but in good balance with the price. We had a small bathroom (when you shower, everything gets wet) with hot water. The staff varies from being friendly and helpful to a little bored and not understanding. There are some nice places around for breakfast, lunch or diner.
