My favourite part of this hostel was the setting: there's a large garden with mini pools, wooden benches/tables, a bookcase, board games. It's a lovely place to just chill in and was really nice walking through this each morning as we left. The staff were also very friendly and helpful when we wanted to book tours, letting us use their phone to call tour agencies and giving us general advice on visiting Thailand. The reception is manned pretty much all the time and I believe it is run by a family who live on site. There's also free breakfast which was very filling and cooked fresh by the family (I recommend the fried rice). There's also free bread and condiments with tea/coffee available at all times which was a lovely extra. Also the family owns cats and a pug which can be seen sometimes in the garden! We had the 4 bed dorm room (2 bunk beds, private bathroom, good A/C) which was pretty decent. Nice extras included a thin duvet each which made the sleep so much better because of this and a free water bottle. 100% recommend staying here because it's a chilled environment with all the amenities for a comfortable stay! Downside would be it's not a well-known location so Grab drivers/tour agencies often get lost trying to find the hostel, a tip would be to direct them to the temple at the end of the road. Also lots of mosquitoes around post-6pm.

The garden was very pretty with cats jumping around and our room (private double) was a very reasonable size but had a very bad smell when we arrived and throughout our stay and attracted a lot of ants. The shampoo in the shower was rancid (but the staff did change it when we brought this to their attention). The staff are very friendly and sweet but not particularly good at giving advice about the local area. The free breakfast was yummy and there are some cute cafes etc nearby. Finally the general vibe was just not quite what we were hoping for, mostly elderly people sitting around but at least it was very quiet for sleeping!

Very reminiscent of another place: Clean and Comfortable. The room I had had four bunk beds, a western toilet and a shower. A/C and TV are included. Bare concrete floors, no chairs and a bird bath to put your stuff on. Plumbing was suspect with ants coming up from the sink. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Amenities included free wifi, laundry (150 BHT same day) and a very nice but simple breakfast provided free.

Average hostel in Chiang Mai. As some people mentioned, this hostel is for the backpackers and hippies. I stayed with 3 friends in a private room - Beds were really uncomfortable and the room was full of mosquitos. Luckily we had a mosquito net. Shower was not great, as the water was usually cold. Air con was working fine. Breakfast was good, with different options and toasts / coffee available 24 hours. Location was good as well.

This place is quaint and quiet. Definitely for the minimalists and backpackers. AC works great, beds are firm with limited bedding but clean. If you want a warm shower do it during the day or it will be cold. Breakfast is somewhat traditional nothing fancy or extensive. I recommend the egg fried rice. Coffee, tea and toast available too. Drinks and alcoholic beverages available too. After 8pm it's the honor system. Staff if friendly and accommodating. If you want amenities and luxury this is not the place for you.

Really enjoyed my 3 days here. The location is great, it is no more then 150 Baht to any point of interest in the city by tuk tuk, while also being very peaceful and off the main roads. We stayed in the private rooms which seemed brand new and very clean. The breakfast is good, they also provide free coffee, tea, and toast 24/7!!! Amazing. Also the owner of the hotel gave us a ride to the airport at 5am, for a fare price of course, but it was nice to not have to bargain with a taxi at that time. I would come back here anytime.

The hostel in itself has a good location and the setting is really nice: big garden, a lot of space in the common area and a lot of showers, toilets. Another plus is the all day breakfast, literally all the time there is bread, butter, jam and hot drinks so you don't have to worry about waking up not to miss breakfast. That said, we actually did not have a very nice stay, we stayed in a dorm and when we arrived all the beds were occupied, we checked in quite early so thought that the other people might not have checked out so went for a walk. When we came back around 6 pm the beds were still occupied so we had to change dorm. In the dorm we stayed, there was also one of the employee and I have rarely seen someone that rude. She refused to put the air con on even for 30 minutes, she was talking on the phone, in the room at around 1 a.m when we were trying to sleep, put the big lights on in the middle of the night (funny thing is that we heard her complain to the owner that a few nights before some people were talking loudly at midnight in the common area...). The beds were really uncomfortable, sleeping on the floor would have been the same, and there is a million mosquitos in there, luckily we had a mosquito net because they don't provide anything at all. In the lounge space, which is outside, there was also no protection against mosquitos. I do understand that this is a tropical country but a few lemongrass candles and/or an anti-mosquito spiral is not that expensive and would make it so much nicer.

We wanted a hotel with an earthly feel but didn't want to be too far away from the center of the town. So this was the perfect place. We booked a wooden family villa which had huge amount of space for us. And my children enjoyed the grounds and the homely atmosphere. The owner is a nice accommodating lady. 10 minutes away from Thapea gate and 5 minutes from Wat Pra Singh but still away from the hustle of the traffic. Just that they serve only American breakfast and no variety at all. My son spent his time playing with the owner's dog, a pug, which was really nice since we don't have a dog at home.

Nice tranquil setting, staff is very helpful. Location is old city. need to take tuk tuk to night market or clubs but then why would one stay in old city when one want's night market to be in walking distance? :-) everything was right for the price. recommended. Hotel is also family friendly.

Great location, down a little driveway which means you don't get much city noise. Peaceful hangout area with free coffee and all that. People are lovely helpful, will help book and arrange everything for you. Only minor downsides was cold shower and a few mosquitos, but hey it's Thailand. Very happy with this place.
