My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel staff is very friendly. My husband had mentioned that we were celebrating my birthday on this trip and the hotel had a lovely small surprise waiting in the room upon our check-in. Very thoughtful. The hotel rooms are newly renovated and offered great view of the mountains and the city. I loved the hot shower after visiting the Elephant Sanctuary. The hotel is perfectly located walking distance from the night market and restaurants. There are tons of vendors stationed outside the hotel in the evening from 6pm- midnight. Carry cash and negotiate heavily. Tip: It is much cheaper to do your shopping in Chiang Mai than Phuket or Bangkok. The concierge is friendly and helpful but the suggestions they give are not local recommendations. They gave us really fancy and upscale suggestions for food when we wanted to have authentic local experience. The hotel has a private car offering to pick you up and drop off for a fee, but you can always UBER or get a taxi. We would definitely come back and stay here. …
This hotel, unsurprisingly, meets international standards for a luxury, 5-star property. The only real negatives for me were: 1) They are currently doing construction/ renovation of the conference facilities, so there was some noise and dust in some areas, although it wasn't particularly intrusive, 2) The food is just so-so, especially disappointed in the bland, sweet pizza from the Italian restaurant, 3) It's pretty generic, which is noteworthy in a city full of charming boutique hotels with lots of local character. Overall, this is the perfect place to stay on business. The staff is wonderful, amenities are excellent, and the location is within walking distance to most everything. A particular shout-out to Yui in the spa - great massage and facial!
My husband and I have just returned from a memorable birthday lunch at the Favola chef Luca and his team have produced for us a lovely meal from the new season menu. We started with Tuna tartar and Shell pasta with broccoli and anchovies. Then follow by beef cheek with truffle mash also Italian seafood stew .For dessert a beautiful dark chocolate cake from the excellent patisserie department. All this was supported by the lovely Milk and helped by Mai . What a fabulous restaurant this is , super happy for my birthday. Thank you so much.
Stayed from 21 to 31 January 2023. We were met at the airport by TK who together with J, Ton and Aon made our little vacation a very memorable one. ขอบคุณ ! You guys were fantastic !! The hotel is undergoing renovations at the moment, but I can honestly say that because of the careful planning by the management and staff, this was hardly noticeable. No jack hammers or drilling noises were heard. Swimming pool was closed, but complimentary swimming coupons at the Anantara nearby worked out well. We recommend paying for the club lounge benefits, we certainly got our money's worth out of the seemingly never-ending supply of food and drink. To Rajat Chatterjee and team, thank you very much, we can't wait to return and experience the upgrades.
Wonderful journey, a definitely terrific place to stay in Chiang Mai, some of the facilities are being updated currently, but the hotel came up with substitue plans, incredible. Overall, the service is great, including food, environment and clerk's attitude, and I would like to specially praise two of the man who helps a lot these days. First is Boyce, he can speak Thai, English and Mandarin, arranging magnificent trip package for my family, really enjoyed. And the second is Poi, the doorman and the best welcome gift for all tourist, with smile and positive vibe, helping your problems also having great chat in the same time~ Like them, all crew of le meridien is considerable professional and friendly, worth to visit several time in the future~
Wow! Even during their renovation/construction (which is hardly noticeable and in NO way an inconvenient) they still offered the type of service you get at a St Regis or Ritz. From the very beginning they make you feel important. The check in staff was amazing. Perfect English, knew what I should expect as a Marriott Platinum member and most important, fast! I was tired and of course you’re never in the mood to spend five minutes at a desk trying to check in. They got everything done so quickly and I was up to my room and it in my comfortable bed within minutes. That’s rare in SE Asia. I think I got lucky and was in one of the newly renovated rooms. Facing the mountain. Kudos to the staff and management for clearly training and hiring a world class hotel experience, especially having full staff on NYE!! Any of these employees could just as easily be at the Ritz Carlton, or any of the most luxurious hotels in the world. Will stay again when I’m back and I believe it is being re-branded to a Marriott or Marquis by Marriott. 5 stars.…
Excellent service and food for Khun Kim every staff. Food is very good for every dishes. Staffs are very friendly and attentive. Spaghetti Aragosta and Baba Rhum is worth to try. Everything is perfect.
Very clean, bright hotel located in the center, very close to old town. Very nice open buffet breakfast with different ethnic choices. Rooms are newly renovated, with very comfortable bed. Staff is very helpfull and friendly. Location of the hotel is a lively safe place.
Firstly, let me say this stay blew me out of the water. The newly remodeled rooms were stylish yet not overstated. The hospitality was amazing from entering the door, to meeting the hotel staff at check-in, the house-keeping staff and the staff of the Italian restaurant (Favola). Le Meridien Chiang Mai is in a vibrant part of the city with the nearby Night Markets running every evening there's always something to do here. It is also just about a 10 min walk to the Chiang Mai "square." Note: This hotel is going through some renovations, there are remodeled rooms that are very modern and up to today's standard. I did not get to see/stay in the older rooms. The hotel has three restaurants: An 18th floor bar, a lobby restaurant and a 2nd floor Italian kitchen. The 18th floor bar and the lobby restaurant were not open. All food was prepared in the Italian kitchen, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and for the elite members, elite breakfast, lounge and snacks. The pool is also under construction and to compensate, you are provided with access to the nearby hotel's pool. During my visit I ate breakfast and meals at Favola and also stopped into the restaurant in the mid-afternoon for coffee/tea and snacks. The breakfast spread was an East meets West buffet, which consisted of about 6-8 Asian dishes as well a full English breakfast with made to order eggs. In addition to that, pastries, fruit, bread, juices, tea and coffee. After about an hour after breakfast, elite members can visit the lounge for snacks, tea and coffee up until dinner time. In the evening, elite members were invited to the restaurant for a two hour "happy hour" which included drinks. Since the Italian restaurant was hosting, I believe the food spread was expanded from the regular 18th floor lounge options. A carving station has two types of meats, there were also about 4-5 other meat dishes, pizza, salad options as well as desert. No matter what time of day, the coffee is exemplary even from the machine. Thai and Viet people know good coffee, and even my companion who is extremely picky was impressed. During our stay, I had a conversation with the hotel manager and I was thoroughly impressed with the operation, and how seamless the operations seem to be. I have stayed in other Le Meridien properties, and I was not expecting such an elegant and impeccable luxury stay. I'll have to return to see how the renovations have turned out, especially when the pool construction is complete! …
We stayed at this hotel while on a Gate 1 tour. It is a beautiful place with exceptional service. It is in the best location in the city. Despite a few renovations in progress, the hotel has done an excellent job to accommodate all amenities. We had a fabulous time at the hotel bar and Lek is a superb bartender and makes wonderful cocktails. Enjoyed our stay very much thanks to Lek and the rest of the hotel staff.
