Overall we had a nice stay at Amata Lanna Village, though next time I would choose to stay somewhere else, mostly due to the distant location. Good: The rooms were gorgeous. Decorated in the Lanna style they were like works of art. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious, though a greater variety of options would be greatly appreciated. We also liked the thoughtfulness of providing each guest with a krathong for the lot krathong/Yi Peng festival that took place during our stay. However, a few things: there needs to be a designated smoking area. Our neighbors would smoke on the open walkway in front of the rooms and our room reeked of cigarettes. Though staff asked them to not smoke there, they continued to do so, so there needs to be a better policy/designated smoking area. Services provided were lacking. We had one morning with a very early tour pickup and one morning leaving early for the airport in which we'd miss breakfast, which only starts at 7. When asked if they could provide something small for us to take away, she said no and suggested we buy something from 7-11. For this caliber of hotel we expect at the bare minim a piece of fruit and a roll! I've never had that kind of response before. In addition they would not exchange bills for smaller change, and I wasn't asking for a large amount- just change for 1000 baht, about $30! The shower also wouldn't close fully and leaked from the bottom, and the rooster from across the street yells from about 4am onwards literally nonstop, so be aware.

This hotel is simply amazing. Tony and all other staff are so friendly, happy to help and welcoming. The hotel is gorgeous. Beds are comfy and huge, hotel is very traditional yet with modern functions. Location is slightly out but that adds to the peacefulness. I cannot wait to return both to Chisbg Mai and this hotel in particular. Duncan and sophie

Hi, Very quiet, spacious and welcoming place. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Very clean and the swimming pool was nice. However very limited choice of breakfast. It would be exceptional if variety of food was offered for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
