This little hostel was a godsent. we had quite a bad experience with overpriced crap hostels around khao san road and this was just what we needed. First and most of all staff was so amazingly nice and helpful! They gave us some water on arrival and booked us to the room. They were really helpful with advise and directions...

Nice quaint guesthouse with very kind and helpful staff. Neat and has hot water/wifi. Is away from the madness of Khao San road, so is quiet at night. Has a nice rooftop terrace where you can sit and relax or enjoy your complimentary breakfast. Only criticism is that if you book a small room, you will be near air conditioning...

After a long overnight bus from Surat Thani we arrived at 9am. Thankfully there was no issue with an early check in which made life so much easier. The staff were so friendly and so helpful. Not the easiest place to find but it's worth looking for.

I am staying in Bangkok for a few weeks so have come from a more expensive hotel to this place. I want it cheap and as much as I like a stylish hotel, I can just as easily stay in a bamboo hut with a hammock. This place is neither, it has clean rooms which are basic. I have stayed...

The staff at the Amarin Inn were extremely nice and helpful. We arrived on an overnight bus from Mukdahan. They prepared our room for us prior to check in time and offered us breakfast. The next day we had another night bus and they allowed us to hang out on the roof top deck and store our bags in the...

On arrival back in Bangkok at 05:30 from Koh Tao, we thought we would stay local to the Kaosan Road area. Amarin Inn had good reviews so we made our booking and after breakfast we headed there only to find out that check in is not until 2pm... We left our bags at reception and then headed to the train...

Good price (790) for the middle of kao san road. Fairly spacious, loads of storage room and surfaces. Super tiny bathroom. Very clean room not noisey. Only downside is that the curtains let through all light, so not a good place if you want to party all night and sleep all day. The staff was so friendly, even at 3...

This is a basic hotel. Good location but down an alley so tricky for taxi to find. Room basic but has wifi. Needs updating but we were happy here. Stayed twice. The best bit is the staff. Very friendly. Has a safe in the lobby for your valuables and a very basic breakfast (toast).

We booked one night in a 3 person private and it worked great. Beds are a little hard and the bathrooms small but this is a great budget option. Free coffee and tea and lobby is open 24 hours. Towels and soap provided and they even have a desktop computer to use. Located deep in an alleyway though, so can...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
