Grand Tower Inn is a good hotel in Sukhumvit area. It is in walking distance from Thong Lo skytrain station. It seems to be an old property but has been maintained quite well. They have a Japanese restaurant on lobby level. The guests are mostly Japanese people who are on business trip / deputation. Overall a good option to stay... More

Was there for many times as our hotel is just below this building. This building is very distinctive even when we were traveling on highways, you get to identify immediately that building is in Thonglor!!! Quite cool indeed! Should visit Sukhumvit 55 because there are so many eateries and famous pubs along this lengthy road.

I noticed most of the guest were Japanese businessmen; I am not but I work for a Japanese company so my coworkers felt quite at ease. Breakfast starts very early at 5am which is convenient for those who have to travel 2 hours just to get to work. The pool is a nice place to relax. I felt at ease... More

We had a reservation to stay here for ten nights and left after the first night. The hotel is for business men not a family with two children. The room was clean, tv outdated, no safe, small bathroom, and it's location was just weird - in the middle of a bunch of buildings. I also did not like the fact... More

The hotel is quite strategic. The road from the airport to the hotel is quite traffic-jam free. It is very near with a BTS station (Thong Lo station). The choice of food near the hotel is very Japaneese oriented, since during my stay I saw many of the hotel occupants are Japaneese. Since BTS is near you could easily go to... More

The hotel had a very comfortable location ...easy accessibility from all points of interest in the city...and that was the best part. Besides the rooms were spacious and clean....the buffet menu was good.... the hotel staff was very helpful...they arranged for our pick up from the suvarnabhoomi airport....they also have a travel desk which arranges for the local sightseeing...... overall... My boyfriend and I ended up at this hotel after other accommodations with friends fell through. The price of this hotel was really expensive for Bangkok. They also charged extra for everything including breakfast, internet, local calls. We stayed in a Japanese style room, which meant that there was a Japanese style table in the room. Robes and slippers were provided.... More

Staying in Thong Lor & Ekamai

Neighborhood Profile
Thong Lor & Ekamai
Known as Bangkok’s hippest neighbourhood, Thong Lor and Ekamai is where the city's well-dressed and well-heeled spend their nights sipping cocktails in hidden speakeasies and posh restaurants. Live it up in one of Thong Lor's extravagant clubs and be prepared to brush shoulders with a Thai celebrity or two. While great for a night out, the area is nothing short of interesting during the daytime, either. Expect a mix of savvy coffee shops, pop-up bars and loads of vintage stores, brought to you by hip locals with eyes for design.
