I have stayed at Lamphu house many times and was lucky enough to be one of there first customers on the day that they opened in January 2005. I have traveled through Lao, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar and found this place to be the best by far. It is a relaxing convenient place to stay with clean rooms and excellent...

The guesthouse is located in the small soi set off the main road and has small inner yard. The rooms have minimum amenities but well furnished and maintained. The staff and management are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Due to its small size, the hostel has a cozy vibe. It has a travel agency and a restaurant. The hostel also provides...

We stayed here recently for 4 days. I have specifically requested for a family room at level one but were given level 3...it was a long climb especially we have elderly travelling with us. We were told that we can change room the next day to 2nd floor as there will be a room available. The staff was helpful enough...

good, simple, cheap guest house. i had a single room with fan and shared bathroom for 200 baht/night. the room was very basic, but clean. unfortunately, the walls are thin & my window was facing the corridor, so i could hear every foot step, cough, and noises from the bathroom & shower. if you are a light sleeper, you'll need...

We stayed there for a few nights at the beginning, middle and end of our trip in Thailand with my boyfriend. It was a recommendation by a friend of mom and it was really worth it compared to other places we stayed at in Bangkok. The first thing you notice is that is in a very central location, then you...

Very good location for this hotel. Rooms are basic but clean and not too old. The bad points are the WiFi is not free! and too many people knows the place and you have to book in advance.

From all the hotels that I stayed in Thailand this was the one I liked less. I understand that this place has become famous between backpackers and maybe it is great spot to meet people etc. I am not exactly a backpacker. But I believe that for this value of money you could find way better places to stay in...

Lamphu House is brilliant. Tucked away on Soi Rambutti it is quieter than those on Khao San. It is very clean-there is always someone mopping or polishing. The room was fine, a little on the small side but had air con which was great! Another good thing about Lamphu House is that they take security very seriously. There is lots...

Have stayed here a few times and will return. The location is really good, it's down an ally so it's peaceful and quiet. Food is pretty reasonable. Room cost 610 baht, doule bed, own bathroom h/w, a/c, no tv, no fridge. It was clean and we never had any hassles. The locker system there is good. Both times we stayed...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
