In celebration of my mother's 60th birthday. I decided to bring her in Bangkok, Thailand. We stayed at Royal Asia Lodge. The room is OK. Good location but breakfast is minimal. The lodge have their own free Tuktuk(it's like a tricycle) to bring you to the nearest 7-11 or NANA Station. Room needs some renovation but overall you can get... More

Just checked out of this absolute sink-hole without spending the night. Booked through AGODA and was astonished when I turned up. Damp everywhere in the room, mould and god knows what all over the bathroom. This place looked like one of the 200 baht a night guest houses you get round Khao San road. The smell of damp was overpowering... More

Normally I sometimes take the reviews with a pinch of salt but for this hotel everything said is true. Just had four nights at the royal asia on the first night I had to go to reception 3 times because the key card had packed in.the aircon is so loud you struggle to get to sleep, the boiler "pre war" that... Stayed here the past 2 nights and was fairly shocked at the state of the room. It reminded me a little of Dicaprio's room in Bangkok in 'The Beach'. The bathroom was prison like and the general decor just as bad. I stayed here to save money but in the end, $34AUD per night was paying overs. It served it's... More

- the ac are so loud that you have to decide whether to use it and get no sleep or sleep but sweat like hell - quite dirty - pool is a joke - the "terrace" is not usable because of the ac-compressors - poor price-value-ratio.

I stayed here for 2 nights and my preference was the location. Apart from the location the hotel is your average hotel, so don't expect anything fancy or even basic for that matter. The check in was quick but the hotel needs a lot more work, especially on things like cleanliness and hygiene. Pros: Location, very easy to walk to... More

The good thing is the location, right in middle of Asoke/Nana area. But the rooms were old and run down, cockroaches in lift and in the room, very noisy neighbours at 3am. Complained to the night manager and I'm told to find somewhere else..so I did

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighborhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
