The room was basic, but the whole hotel was full of character and interesting things and staff were extremely helpful. Appreciated the room ceiling fans and filtered water in shared kitchen space. There was lovely breakfast on offer but we didn’t book this and were happy to get coffee from the great little coffee shop at the hotel’s front gate and buy fresh fruit each morning from a street seller across from the nearby 7/11. The location was great, so much to do and see, and good boat and bus access. Some good street food nearby and walking distance to Nang Loeng market which is a great local lunch spot. Apart from those at the hotel, not many tourists until you head towards Khao San Rd, about 20 mins walk. The bed and pillows were a bit hard and mornings were a bit noisy with loud birds and drums from the nearby school. Would recommend if you’re looking for a basic room full of character in a great location.

A surprisingly quiet oasis in the middle of Bangkok with super friendly staff. ~20 minute walk to Khao San road and even closer to the Thewes river ferry (which will take you to Bangkok center). Would definitely stay here again!
Delicious (paid) breakfast, shared refrigerator and microwaves, and a very under-rated free, filtered, cold water! Self laundry is also available for longer stays.
My only feedback is to not label the hand soap and shampoo as both shampoo. :)

A family of four, we stayed at this property from 06 Nov 2023 to 08 Nov 2023. Checkin is at 2.00 PM but we had arrived a few hours early. The manager was considerate enough to let us keep our luggage in the cloak room and also offered bathing and washing facilities. We could tour some of the attractions around like the grand palace, Wat Pho and the Golden Buddha by the official checkin time.
The good points about the property - Friendly staff, clean rooms, bed linen and bathrooms, great location very near to major attractions, Thewis ferry point on the Chao Phraya River.
Points where there is scope for improvement - Could provide some pure vegetarian (eggless & fishlesss) options in the restaurant menu. This may be important to guests from India, many of whom may be vegetarian/vegan.

PN is a serene little oasis oozing with artistic character, amidst the busy-ness of Bangkok. The location is ideal for venturing on a canal tour, roaming old town Bangkok and markets, or getting to Khao-san Rd. As soon as we arrived we felt so calm and peaceful, the hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful (we arrived at 7am, our room wasn't ready but we were offered a shower, breakfast and a place to store our luggage until lunchtime). Our room was amazing, so creatively decorated with ornate handpainted walls and hand crafted cushions etc.. artworks in themselves. It was such a reprieve to return to our room, or to sit in the quiet of the downstairs open-air cafe, which felt like being in a little forest with butterflies, birds and all! We'd welcome a return to Bangkok purely to stay at PN again.

This hotel was a marvellous find, tucked away down a side street (but easy to find on foot or for taxi) it was a beautiful, chilled place perfect for escaping the busy city whist being in the city. 7-11 shop 1 minute walk, less than 5 mins walk from an incredible thai-chineese restaurant, 10 min walk from river taxi. Easy to get about via Grab/Bolt taxi. The breakfast and lunch options tasty, plus delicious fresh baked pastries, more expensive than street vendors but we enjoyed eating breakfast in the courtyard garden, very chilled vibe. Rooms clean and comfortable, staff wonderful, vert helpful and friendly. We stayed twice, travelling on in-between stays and stored some luggage with the hotel at no extra cost. Will definitely stay here again if we pass through Bangkok again. Thank you for 2 lovely stays!

This place is everything you are looking for in Bangkok The building is situated in a little alley just at the corner of a street with restaurants,7/11 and everything you may need during your stay. The decor is stunning ,walls are hand painted with beautiful drawings and each single room is got different decorations with dark wood floors and huge windows. The room is been cleaned every single day in a spotless manner, the breakfast is delicious and affordable and the choice is wide ,from scrambled eggs and bacon to delicious “french looking “croissants. The chilling area downstairs is lovely, always peaceful and with a soft classical music on the background (and the cat “Lion”is an absolute beauty !). The staff is probably the best part of this experience. We spent a week there and every single person was adorable, always available for any requests (breakfast in room, help with taxis, luggages, sim cards and so on )and always with a smile on their face . A special thanks goes to Aoey at the reception, she is the most sweet ,helpful and perfect host you could ever find and she truly made our stay the best experience. It was not our first time in Bangkok and I can say this was the best treatment we ever received, this people make you feel safe and calm in a city that is sometimes very hard to handle,we truly couldn’t t have wished for better. It was definitely a 10/10 experience and we can t wait to go back!😊🫶🏽❤️

A charming, comfortable and welcoming place to stay, located in a lively old neighborhood. Creative and colorful retro decor with wonderful hand-painted artwork on every wall. Bed felt clean and fresh, with firmness of mattress just right. The "wet room"-style bathroom might take some getting used to for some guests, but I had no problem with it, and it's space-efficient. Delicious coffee and breakfast available at the attached Unbranded Cafe, and don't miss the croissants — discounted 50% after 5 PM! Self-service laundry (payment and detergent at the front desk) is very convenient. Front desk service was always friendly and helpful, with suggestions on where to eat in the neighborhood, what time to leave for the airport, etc. I loved staying here and would definitely return.

Entering Phranakorn Nornlen is like entering a different region of spacetime. Situated in a small road this hotel offers a ton of different angles and things to look at. Little cubicles telling the story of a time well in the past are spread throughout the premise. The hotel serves a good breakfast and a small array of (international) dishes. I don’t know about the international dishes since I only ate regional cuisine. That however was fine! The design and decor of the hotel is beautiful and unique. Every morning croissants are freshly baked and I believe there even is a baking class within the hotel. The croissant even managed to surpass the high standards of my francophile girlfriend. Apart from the expected services of any decent hotel we were able to take a shower well after checking out in a dedicated guest shower room which was greatly appreciated. I would surely stay here again. The one downside is that there is no Metro or Skytrain station very close to the hotel, but taking the coach in Bangkok is a real (noisy) experience. I wouldn’t want to have missed it. Also there is a Ferry station really close which is convenient. I would recommend the hotel wholeheartedly and want to finish by congratulating Phranakorn Nornlen’s fantastic staff! One tiny remark: I once asked them to spice my dish as they would for any regular Thai which they did not do. Apart from that everything was great :)

Nice peaceful oasis to retreat to at end of the day’s explorations in busy Bangkok. Very friendly staff and good food served from their onsite restaurant in a lovely courtyard setting. Very convenient buses and water taxis nearby. Rooms are not soundproof so you might be kept awake by louder neighbours. Towels could be cleaned a bit better… asked to change mine twice because of stains. Also, ask for a room with a view of nearby temple or courtyard.

This hotel provides a peaceful, green oasis that is a welcome escape from the urban intensity of Bangkok. Located just to the north of the main tourist areas it is slightly out of the way but served well by all necessary conveniences such as a bank, coffee shops and the ubiquitous 7-11 stores. The staff are extraordinarily helpful, the breakfast is good and the hotel bakes some of the best croissants this side of Paris. All of the rooms, halls and corridors have been painted elaborately with murals and false shop fronts, while the garden seating area features huge trees filled with birds and other wildlife. Local restaurants cater less to tourists and more for locals but the food is all more interesting and adventurous for this.
