If you're looking at another hotel in Yaowarat area, this is definitely the BEST around. It has coffee bean in front of the hotel and 7-11 on the corner, the lobby was really nice and has a free computer. The check in was quick, they give welcome drinks and cold towel, which is really nice. The staff was okay. Our...

This fab hotel is just so ideal in many ways. lovely character rooms, great service, amazing breakfast and a great place to stay to experience Chinatown. The bar in the evening which opens onto the street is a relaxing way to end the day. Within paces of amazing street food, a short walk to the golden buddah...well worth a visit,...

The only poor thing to say about this hotel is that once you leave, the smells of Chinatown really hit you!! The hotel is clean and safe, the room are amazingly styled and very comfortable, and to make the whole experience even better the breakfast buffet is fantastic. A definite place to return to.

We stayed at this hotel for several days while in Bangkok. We stayed in the Chinatown area, which is the best area to stay in if you are interested in the food and night markets. The hotel is truly a boutique hotel as the décor is amazing. The room was very comfortable. The staff was at the top of their...

We stayed here the night we landed in Bangkok and also the night before we left and we absolutely LOVED it. The customer service from beginning to end is impeccable. The rooms are amazing. The breakfast was to die for (make sure you order an omelette!!). The hotel is right in the middle of China Town so the road is...

The Shanghi Mansion, this is a great hotel. In the centre of China Town it's location is perfect. From the outside after getting dropped of it doesn't give away just how good it is once inside. We did a lot of research on accomadation and this did not disappoint. The welcome is one of a very high class hotel, the...

The hotel has a lot of drawbacks (such as hardly any windows, so so location (unless you are determined to stay in Chinatown), crowded entrance), but the decor makes up for everything. A funky, kitsch and completely over the top concept hotel, at very affordable prices. A rare - if not unique - find.

This really is beautifully renovated hotel from 1832! Impressively done. Since we're on a sabbatical for 6 months we are on a budget. So we booked the cheapest room without breakfast at 42€ a night. The bed was big enough for the whole family ! (we travel with a 4yr old) The decoration is fantastic, you can really feel the...

We spent 5 days in Shanghai Mansion for a stopover on our way to Bali. The hotel is absolutely nice and worth its price, the staff is very friendly. Ask Mr. Is in front of the hotel - he is extraordinary polite and will help you arranging your day trips round the city, taxi, boat, etc. Yoawarat Rd. we found...

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
