Pros: Decent location, pool, beds comfortable. Cons: Wifi costs 40 baht for three hours, rooms are not very clean, not a lot of hot water, unfriendly staff, dubious massage parlour, the taxi-stand is a total ripoff, not within walking distance of the metro, restaurant mediocre, loads of apparent sex tourists (and a sign in the lobby warning about child sex... I stayed in this hotel during my 1973 overland trip to Australia. It was pretty new then. It was the best hotel of the whole six month trip. I'm glad it still exists. It was good value for rooms and food then. I have no idea how I found it in 1973, Bangkok is such a different place. My room... More

The Malaysia is a middle class hotel twenty pounds a day gets you a premium room. The restaurant is first class and the prices are more than reasonable. The menu has Western and Thai food all cooked to perfection .Thai people use the restaurant and it's open for food and drink twenty four hours every day Another feature is the... More

This is a very old Hotel in Sathorn area. They have a small but decent pool and a good restaurant. I´ve only stayed at the 6th floor renovated rooms, several times. The are not in the best shape but ok. The showers are not of best quality. I´ve heard the other rooms, which are cheaper, are not necessarily in a... More

Very average place to stay, comfortable, decent restaurant, acceptable wifi well located. The place is definitely due for a renovation, but if you are into saving money, this place is good. Not expensive, which is the point of staying here. Staff are helpful and their English is good enough. Swimming pool is nice. Lots of restaurants in the area. 5... More

Hotel was old fashioned but clean. Every day housekeeping and housekeeper was nice and polite. Front desk staff speaked very poor english and they were not especially helpful. No free wifi. Located near Lumphini MRT station. Hotel food was quite expensive and very spicy. Overall 3/5 star.

This hotel is okay, but if you want to have little bit comfort so it is not the right place. The rooms looks very poor. And if you get a room at the back side so you will see the wall of the next house in a distance of 2 metres. The food of the restaurant is good and the... More

I have stayed in expensive hotels in Bangkok, but i always return to the Malaysia hotel , because it has a real charm of it own, where you see real thai people, when you return the receptionist remembers you even if you have not been there for years, they have a restaurant which is cheap, you see the local police... Staying in Sathorn

Neighborhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
