Large rooms with small kitchen and washer dryer. Particularly good for long stays (e.g. 2+ weeks). Great views of the river with small balcony. Very convenient to BTS as well as highway access. Good variety of street food, reasonably priced restaruants nearby. Farily well stocked grocery in the basement of adjacent building. Rooms are a bit dated and could use... More

Centre Point Silom The hotel appears to be a service apartment with small kitchenette built in to provide the convenience to long-stayers. I chose the hotel because of good review and tried it for four nights. Here are my reviews: The good points: The room is large by Bangkok standard and so is the bed. The room cleaning services are... Price/performance ratio. One of the most important "value" in any evaluation. This hotel has a high value of this kind. Location: very good. Close to the TAKSIN station of the BTS Silom Line - which is an excellent way to travel to several important spots (also the amazing shopping mall) of Bangkok. Just a few minutes walk to a boat... I had a corner room at the 18th floor overlooking the river with a very nice balcony. Room was in great condition, bathroom as well. Staff was excellent and very accomodating. Cleaning staff was great! The hotel is a short taxi/tuktuk ride away from Asiatique night market which is a great way to spend an evening. Nice restaurants in any... More

The Centre Point Silom is very centrally located, over a department store and a large supermarket with adjacent restaurants. It is located near the river with the ShangriLa Hotel on one side and the Skytrain on the other. The street has tailors, jewellers, restaurants, and there are night markets around the hotel after dark. We stayed for a week whilst... More

Travelling with a family member and mutual friend for an exhibition, we needed a large apartment style room with separate spaces for each person as well as a spacious common area. On Charoenkrung Rd Riverside the Centrepoint is next to the Shangri-La and the Saphan Tacsin skytrain station. It is surrounded by day and night food markets, restaurants and many... More

Staying in Silom

Neighborhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
