I stayed at this hotel for 8 days and I must say that it was a memorable experience. Beautiful, comfortable and spotless room, with a clean bathroom and great service. The hotel staff were very helpful. The hotel is in a great location- near Khao Sarn Road, and there are so many lovely restaurants around this area! For Thai food...

Nothing outstanding, but perfectly fine and in an excellent location. If you need a base from which to explore Bangkok this is a good one. The rooms are fine - we stayed twice, once in a deluxe room and again a week later in a standard room. The deluxe room on the pool side of the hotel was nicer and...

Stayed in the Viengtai for two nights and was very impressed! Lovely, clean, spacious room with the most amazingly comfortable beds and pillows. Hotel was spotless all over, breakfast was good and the location was fantastic, just around the corner from the Khaosan Road. Would definitely return and recommend to all. One tip.. be wary of tuk tuk drivers outside...

This hotel is always reliable; the situation is excellent for sights, river ferries, street food. Over the past 14 years whenever we have been to Bangkok this is our first stop from the Airport. We have tried the Grand China Princess twice but found it not such good value and this year a tad dog eared. The Viengtai staff are very...

Viengtai is easy to get around from. You really feel in the middle of everything, what matters in Bangkok. Choose a room in the upper floors on the backside, which are not noisy. If you need some rest from the busy city, you are here in the right place. Very friendly staff, very good return for your money. If you...

This hotel is not for people who want luxury but people who want to be one hour from the airport on a road which is a buzz. It is very clean, very comfortable and I would stay there again and again. I requested a room away from the road. Surrounded by masseurs (leg, feet etc) people can have massages on...

I stayed here for 3 nights in February 2012. We arrived at 11am, but had to come back after 12pm to check in. I noticed that there are signs on the counter saying check in is from 2pm - which is quite late. Our room was clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but what you'd expect for the price. It's definitely...

This is definitely the better hotel we found in the near vicinity of Khaosan road (2 minute walk) except the Nuovo Hotel which was way better but a ten minute walk. Directly located in the action of restaurants, shopping, bars. Nice, clean rooms, nice restaurant. Decent buffet breakfast. Free wifi. I would stay again.

This place is in a great location, but is a little overpriced. Breakfast buffet was excellent value. Some people are concerned about the noise from the street below, but I didn't find that to be an issue.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
