We had a lovely stay, we were on the 16th floor with a great view of Bangkok city skyline. All the staff were great, professional and very helpful with that warm Thai smile.

It would be hectic! lol Tuk Tuk is the way to go...always haggle and always tell them "no stops!" as they all have a deal with a shop or tailors etc which can be a pain as they try and get you into them... we always declined but did get asked to get out of the tuk tuk! lol stupid as they didn't earn anything then!...best way to travel though.... I'd also say you are too far away to come back to hotel from palace etc... just chill in a bar/restaurant for a bit and crack on....There are free tour guides within the palace and we used one...very informative to get the most out of the visit.... remember long trousers and a t shirt for the ladies or you'll join the crowd at the little shop over the road for random clothing purchase! ;0) enjoy...
