We stayed here 2 nights. I have also stayed at this hotels some years ago. Now, as then, it proves to be a high end hotel, with typical top professional staff. The location, the room, the outdoor facilities and the brakfast area and food is absolutely fabolous ! They also offer a free boat shuttle (hourly in the afternoon) on...

Stayed at the Shangri-La Bangkok December 2014. I upgraded to the Krungthep Wing and cannot recommend it high enough it was as a previous review has stated “what a 5 star hotel should be” arrived at 9.00am and after checking-in I was moving into my room. Special thanks to Ms Nirum Chompoo and Mr Anansak Skulpanich for outstanding service they...

The Shangri La was the first stop on our holiday in Thailand and it was fantastic. We were picked up at the airport by the airport chauffeur service and the five star experience started there. I'd recommend staying in the main wing rather than the Krungthep (not sure of spelling) wing as that's slightly away from the main hotel although...

Stayed for 2 nights at the Shangri La in Bangkok and loved every minute! The hotel captures what a luxury hotel should be from the limousine from the airport to the limosine back again. The property is opulent, the service and room is impeccable. The breakfast buffet is vast and tasty. The view of the river from the river front...

My husband and I spent a long weekend recently in Bangkok and stayed here at the Shangri-la. It was lovely. We had a room overlooking the river, and it was nice to wake up and watch the boats roaring up and down the river. The only drawback of the riverside is having to listen to the karaoke boats at night...

My wife and I visited in December 2014. Third time to Thailand. Third time to the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok. We love this place. The people, rooms, restaurant, apartments, overall property are just great. We wanted to go on the Horizon dinner cruise but it was closed the two nights we stayed there. We ate instead in the hotel outside on...

Four years since our last visit and we were not disappointed.Stayed 3 nights 12th 23rd & 24th November in the Krunthep wing & the hotel & the service are first class. Nothing is too much trouble and extras that go with the Krunthep wing are well worth it.

I love this chain of hotels and will take the opportunity to stay in one if I can. The only reason I was in Bangkok was to transfer flights, except for 4 nights of luxury here, and I was not disappointed. I stayed in the Krungthep Wing which made the experience more luxurious. The decor in every corner of every...

River view room was really nice while the views are stunning...room maybe starting to look a little tired if being picky but still very nice. Breakfast is very extensive and is genuinely good though again lacking in small ways...no fresh squeezed juice bar, limited freshly cooked options and when asking for sparking water was told this was not part of...

This is a perfectly reasonable, clean and functional hotel with a riverside location to die for, but by the very high standards normally set by the Shangri La stable, this particular outpost of their brand is looking somewhat tired and in need of some capital maintenance. From the comments in other reviews perhaps I stayed in the wrong part of...

Staying in Silom

Neighborhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
