We stayed at Furama Silom. Room was fine. Swimmingpool pool is very dirty (why not clean it?!) When leaving the hotel, we wanted to go to Chiang Mai. We asked the staff in the reception if they knew anything about bus from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, and we talked to their tourist guide inside the lobby. He said he could take us to a tourist agency (Tong Chai Tour) we could talk to. We went with him and ended up paying for an overpriced ticket (dont buy here, go to the bus terminal!). We ended up paying 1150 baht Per ticket (reduced from 1200) which he claimed was a VIP bus (it’s literally the opposite). Now arrived at the bus terminal, the bus is set to depart 8:30 PM instead of 7:00 PM, which we were told. Also, the real ticket price is about 700, and the bus is terrible. The bus is very old, seats are small and it’s very dirty. Furama Silom should NOT cooperate with the tourist information guy and agency — what a shame.

We made a mistake on the booking (not knowing) and even after arriving a day late we was still not informed when checking in! A staff member rang our room called to meet us at reception at 8pm on what we thought was our last night. We was rudely greeted by a female staff raising her voice after explaining the situation. We went to the reception earlier in the day at around 2pm and wasn’t told any of this otherwise we would have checked out the hotel and sorted it. Was disappointed with the customer service at a reputable hotel and it really spoilt our last night in Bangkok the way we was treated!

Booked Furama Silom as ASQ hotel in March 2021. Room is big and bright, bathroom nice, comfy bed. Wifi usually works, yet sometimes interrupted. However, they removed the entire living room furniture. Moreover, the carpet is not visible as the entire floor in borh rooms is covered by plastic. Mandatory food servings do not reflect the great Thai cuisine, two choices of food only, mostly chicken with rice, rice with pork, pork with pasta, pasta with chicken, etc. No sports equipment in room, even though I was willing to pay for it. There is a balcony but doors are sealed. All in all, I will survive but room definetely does not look like the pics on their ads

I was a bit scared earlier while choosing which hotel I should book for my Quarantine-15 Nights/16 Day, what if it could be a small size Room ( which many of the Hotel options were showing small size room.) . Also there were not much recent Reviews from travelers on their ASQ experiences I choose Furama Silom, considering the size of room and also it has balcony ( btw Balcony slide is not allowed to open). I am currently on my 09th Day of Quarantine Today. I must say I am happy to choose this property. Let me quickly share some pros & cons which may help the travelers who are planning to book their Quarantine in Bangkok: Pros: 1) Very Decent room size, big enough for single person ( even for 2) 2) Nice big king size bed with big pillows. 3) Work station with nice leather chair ( you will not miss your office cabin) 4) Nice 43" LED with few Thai channels and couple of English & Hindi Channels choices 5) Nice Bathroom with Glass ( both standing shower & BathTub)- well cleaned and big size 6) Good enough open space in room which can be used for exercise or to walk easily from room entrance till balcony slide. 7) Perfect Air conditioning, sufficient plugs at right required places near bed, near workstation or near TV 8) small refrigerator, Tea/coffer maker with enough supplies, few munch stuff, 2 full packs of water bottles ( can be provided more if needed), few ready to cook noodles boxes, Luggage space, few Masks, Bottle of Sanitizer, Tissues, Hair Dryer, enough Toiletries for first 7 days till first Room cleaning happen. 9) Food box serving - They keep it outside in a Tray. Breakfast at 6.30 am , Lunch at 11.30 am and Dinner at 6.30 pm. Timing seems too early for some but I think its not too bad to have at these times. 10) Day 6th the first covid check and if negative they allow day 8 to go on rooftop 20th floor along side swimming pool for 45 min. I am sure for All its a big relief feeling to have fresh air after 7 days of staying in one room. Temperature check daily to be informed on hotel Line ID morning & evening ( they will provide thermometer at time of check in.) 11) Best part of my room or especially if you are top floors like 19th floor, the Daylight comes nicely in rooms from Balcony side and that make you much much comfortable. 12) Hotel Staff is very helpful, polite and assist you with the best of their capacity. 13) MOST IMPORTANT- COMPLIMENTARY INTERNET CONNECTION WITH DECENT SPEED. I have no issue with internet till date. Cons: 1) If you are not too much in Thai Food, the choices seem less especially if Vegetarian ( but room service can be ordered or they can help to get you buy stuff from 7/11 store for the items hotel does not have, small service charge for that service) 2) Microwave in room could have help to warm food. 3) Few more TV channels choices could have make it more comfortable considering long stay. So, for now, full marks to the Hotel Team to make my first half of Quarantine comfortable and looking forward to have similar services for remaining days. Hope this review will help for travelers looking to book their ASQ. Thanks

Over the past 15 years or so my wife and myself have stayed at the Furama Silom. We loved it at this hotel with very large rooms and sensational breakfast. I returned back to Thailand after a extended covid stay in Australia and decided to do my 14 day quarantine at the Furama. I understand the hotel has to undergo a big task to be a ASQ hotel and I feel they have done well in that area. I am disappointed to say that the standard of food is extremely disappointing. My first breakfast choice of 2 was boiled pork blood in soup. Second choice was spaghetti with minced chicken. Boiled pork blood!!! Wtf? A few of my choices have been incorrectly delivered and like tonight my meal was very cold. I requested 2 fried eggs each morning for breakfast as pork blood is not my thing and they agreed to do that. Again the meal must have been prepared the previous day as it was stone cold. The hotel has very strict covid practice in place which I am very grateful for. Duty nurses on site which was comforting to know. I hope the Furama get back to their old self as it's failing now. After many happy stays here in the past I can't see myself booking here again. Very disappointing.
