A complete reconstruction is long overdue. Bathrooms are worn-out and 'tired'-looking. The rooms themselves are also becoming weathered, worn and faded. There are so many relatively new hotels in the area that it no longer makes any sense to stay at the Grand Hyatt Erawan since the value proposition ended about 10 years ago. They are now trading on their past (1990s) reputation and the service and smiles you receive are insufficient to offset what you forsake by not staying somewhere else. Most (other) hotels in the area are new or rebuilt (the InterCon across the street on Sukhomvit closed this year for their renovation), so it makes no sense to stay at the "old" Grand Hyatt Erawan. The bathrooms (showers and tubs) are tiny when compared to other offerings in the Erawan area. Everything is worn and faded. The breakfast buffet at the Lobby area is nice and the Staff there work very hard to assure you enjoy the experience. The same is true in the Lobby in the evening. The Health Club (5th Floor) is now overrun with local 'members' who pay to use the gym and spa (i.e. they are not hotel guests in residence). They are arrogant, pretentious locals who act like they own the facility - they do entirely as they choose ... making lots of noise and using mobiles in the Spa area and behaving territorially around guests who use the gym and spa. When I'm a Guest, I behave as a good Guest. These local subscription "members" act like 'owners' and not Guests. It's not a good mix. (I'd contrast this with the Members of the gym/spa at the Grand Hyatt in Seoul where these subscription members behave much better - like 'guests.') Many services are now performed by third-parties: Laundry/DC and Transportation. As such, quality is seriously degraded and prices are ramped-up considerably. I stopped sending my laundry/DC to the hotel's agent because their performance was so poor. If you use the hotel limo services, be prepared for rapacious pricing -- way out of line with any notion of reasonable. Use Grab for better, timely transportation at more than an Order of Magnitude less cost.

Initial hi. Ups upon arrival but well sorted , we stayed at the hotel for 5 nights Had emailed them regarding our late check in time and that one of friends staying in another room has his birthday. We got an acknowledgment for the same . I had made requests for rooms next to each other and for some arrangement to be done in the room. This was not done and we were given rooms at two ends of the hotel. Upon getting in touch with guest services and front desk nothing was done about it. Had to contact the GM but he himself was not available. His office later called and took care of all our requirements. The hotel itself is amazing and one of the best places in BKK. Awesome breakfast layout, clean, safe, the staff is very courteous and helpful. Definitely a good stay for couples families with kids Also the overall facilities like the pool, gym were great

The location is good, close to restaurant and mall. However the lighting is very dark in the room. Also there is always a line for check in and check out. I waited at least 10-15 mins just for a simple check in. It kinda wasted everyone’s time

Stayed in a club room. Tired room, small availability of food and drinks in the lounge, tired spa, in-room dining not up to standard. Queued for check-in for 10 min and then was sent to the club lounge where I waited again. Works are undergoing at the property and around limiting the access. Let’s hope the hotel will be revamped soon!

At night it was not easy to read as the total lighting in the room was not adequate. Lighting needs to be added / increased in the rooms. Also the table placement can be improved to make the room more spacious. Additional stands next to the bed can also be modified to give a more spacious look.

Good location, near to malls. Link to the R walk which connects with other malls and places. 3 mins walk to BTS, 15 minutes walk to Siam. Room is clean and spacious. Might be slightly noisy as it is next to the main road, but ear plugs are provided.

It felt good to be back at the Erawan after a long covid pause, and it felt good to see the place unchanged and busy. The Siam area skyscrapers make the Erawan look small and oldish, but don’t let the façade deceive you. When you enter the wonderful lobby, the impression becomes very different. The lobby feels like a big park with high ceilings and an outdoor-café-like restaurant. The building, while not new, is well-maintained and everything is clean. Front desk staff is friendly and speaks English well. My room was a standard room on the 9th floor. I specifically requested a room that does not face the skytrain to avoid noise. The spotlessly clean room was fairly large, came with a comfortable king bed and a sofa with a large glass table that was well-suited both for in-room dining and working. Quiet and efficient A/C, a safe, slippers and bathrobes etc. A couple of nice Thai decorative elements made the room feel more homely. A big plus was the four 0.5 L glass bottles of water provided free of charge and replenished daily. No need to worry about buying and carrying water. Overlapping curtains helped keep the room dark in the early morning. I was surprised to find the wifi connection a bit spotty. Usually, it was fast and reliable, but at times it became extremely slow and wouldn’t even open a webpage. The bathroom included a separate shower (handheld + overhead) with very good water pressure and a deep bathtub that filled up quickly. I liked the individual toiletries. A wide array of amenities were available in the bathroom, and some more on request from housekeeping; think shaving kits, deodorant etc. Breakfast was excellent, one of the most versatile hotel breakfast I’ve had. The self-service buffet contains everything and anything you might want, including Indian, Chinese, Middle Eastern, Thai and Western items, both sweet and savoury. A chef will prepare eggs and omelettes, including eggs Benedict. However, they tended to run out of some items during the morning and, sadly, did not replenish, so if you go to breakfast after 9, be prepared. Breakfast was served from 6:30 to 10:30 and unless included, costs a whopping 1170 B net, so make sure to choose a rate that includes breakfast, it’ll be a lot cheaper that way.
The pool deck (6 am to 9 pm) was large and calm, with only a handful of people on any given day. Attendants were not as attentive as before. Some would prepare your sunbed for you, others wouldn’t. Some brought a complimentary glass of water and ice tea to you, others didn’t. Water in the large pool was surprisingly and refreshingly cool, and additionally there is a large hot tub although the water wasn’t as warm as in previous years, yet comfortable. The poolside snack bar is open until 8 pm and serves both Thai and Western food. An added plus is the fact that the hotel is attached to a covered walkway, so you can reach both the skytrain as well as several shopping centres, such as Central World or Siam Paragon, without being exposed to rain. The friendly bellmen will organize a taxi and make sure the driver understands the destination, which can be of big help. They will also lend you an umbrella if needed – there are no umbrellas in the rooms. The Erawan has become ”my” hotel In Bangkok, and I am already looking forward to my next stay in February. However, I was a bit let down that they wouldn’t allow a late check-out beyond 1 pm. After a six-night stay, it would have seemed reasonable even if the hotel were busy.

Stayed at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok for 3 nights for a personal getaway and from check-in to check-out, everything about the room, food, and interactions with staff was perfect. I booked this trip using points and as an Explorist member was graciously given an upgrade to their deluxe room on the 10th floor, which I greatly appreciated! The corner location really gave the space character and despite this being a historic, 'old' hotel, the room was surprisingly modernized with bedside controls for all the lights and AC. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the hotel even provided turn-down service in the evening, drawing the curtains close and re-making the bed. It was unexpected but really underscored for me how much the hotel values its guests. The lobby was beautiful and a welcome oasis from the bustle of Bangkok's downtown. The free parking for guests was also a big plus! The only inconvenience experienced was that the walkway connecting the hotel to the Ratchaprasong Skywalk/BTS was closed, so it was a further walk to get there than expected and difficult when it was raining. But easy enough once I figured it out. I would absolutely return the next time I am back in Bangkok. This is a great hotel in a prime location with amazing staff. Perfect for travelers looking to relax while just steps away from city life.

Excellent hotel. After trying many Bangkok hotels we have settled it, Grand Hyatt is the best and friendliest hotel and we now always stay here. There is a French restaurant,an Italian restaurant and a casual local food restaurant with very easy food. They have just introduced Afternoon Tea in the grand Lobby. Not a traditional British style afternoon tea but much more exotic with exciting bite sized tasty treats. Definitely worth a try.
