Guests often commend the spacious, clean rooms with breathtaking river vistas, although some note the decor as dated. Pick up at airport was smooth and efficient, room at Peninsula was excellent, large and luxurious with great views over river. All Peninsula staff we dealt with were polite and very helpful. At over 300 rooms such a hotel is bound to have the odd mishap but like the overwhelming reviewers on this site we suffered none.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This hotel wins the “best overall” category for us! We travel to Bangkok 2-3 times a year but have never stayed “over the river” so this was an adventure for us. Our accomodation was superb with a beautiful old world charm. The housekeeping staff were almost invisible and laundry was done on an immediate turnaround! The Peninsula has one of the most comprehensive breakfast buffets I’ve ever seen! Healthy options. Juice options. Vegan options. American style etc etc. Fitness options include a 25m (at least) pool to swim plus three other adjoining pools. Well equiped gym including pilates reformer. Steam room, Sauna, Hot Spa and Ice Bath plus a plethora of little extras - cleansers, toners etc. Finish your fitness regime in one of the most beautiful day spas I have ever seen! The options available are so indulgent. We travelled as a couple - no kids. In fact we saw few children other than some early teens. It probably wouldn’t be my choice if I had children, the hotel seems to suit an older clientele. (Only my opinion!) Treat yourself to a dinner at the hotels Thai restaurant and indulge in their afternoon tea on the terrace. This hotel really spoils you!

I had a one night 2 day layover in Bangkok I decided to slurge on a night at The Peninsula Bangkok. Yes the property is nice....however for £315 a night I expect more. Reception check in: perfunctory check in, no personal touch such as " how are you today" "have you been to Bangkok before" "Do you have anything you wish to do in Bangkok that we can assist you with?". Also when checking into a hotel in Asia; I expect a welcome refreshment and a cold towel (37 degrees). Lobby Bar: great singer, staff vert good....however for a 5 star hotel, if you order an alcoholic beverage, when your drink arrives you should be given snacks eg. Crisps. Overall for £315 per night/$600 per night The Peninsula is under whelming to say the least. Stay st Lebu or Shangri-la la where your room is only £230 -£300 a night....and the service and amenities are truly 5 star.

Went for a conference and stayed longer to celebrate wedding anniversary. We stayed in this hotel a decade ago and were glad to see it was as elegant as we remembered it. Room was spacious with double sinks and bathtub. Toiletries were quality products. The layered swimming pool remained our favourite haunt. We were very impressed with the jacuzzi. The water jets were very strong. The hotel offered many activities everyday. Which we loved as we had been to Bangkok many times and weren't going to any tourist attraction. A big shout out to PK who led the stretch class. However, I suggest the hotel inform guests on duration of each class upon booking. I ran into traffic and was 20 minutes late for green curry class. I was then informed class was only 30 minutes so I missed more than half of it and the instructor left. While that's understandable, I assumed (wrongly, my bad) that a cooking class would be at least 1 hour. If it's 30 minutes long, it's a cooking demonstration with pre-made portions. I was a bit put off after I rushed from taxi to BTS to boat to evade traffic. Breakfast was sumptuous and delicious. Anniversary dinner at Thiptara was ok. A bit surprised considering it's Thai food so we were expecting wonders. Thank you Peninsula for sending us a yummy chocolate cake. While the poolside food (mango smoothie and calamari) was delicious, the staff just left the food at the cabana. The birds attacked my food. When I asked the staff for a solution, I was offered a replacement but was also lectured to cover my food. But I was swimming! Maybe Peninsula should make it a standard procedure to cover the food instead of relying on the guests themselves.

Stopped off at Peninsula for 2 nights after a 3 week SEAsia trip. This hotel totally lived up to its reputation for comfort and especially service. The staff at the pool were amazing and we wee so well looked after by O and TYO . Ate at the Thai restaurant and despite delay on our food arriving, quickly fixed with dish not charged. Cocktails enjoyed at the pool with 4pm - 6pm Happy Hour. Location is good with room on 21st floor having amazing river view. Small ferry boats provided by the hotel to cross the river and get to Skytrain and nearby mall. Breakfast buffet vast with so much choice of many different cuisines. Thanks to all the staff - we had a great stay.

Amazing Silver wedding and 2nd Honeymoon venue. We stayed 2 nights and it wasn’t enough. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in and amazing value considering the world class service. I have no negatives and we are already rebooking. A great intro to their service as a brand and we just loved Bangkok. Welcome , room, canal & temple tour, pool and breakfast all superb as was the boats up and down. Tip use the opposite pier for airport tfs! Loved it , our Bangkok home!

Old-school Hotel at the Chao Praya river.Very friendly and excellently trained staff, I want to nominate explicitly Mrs. Mimi at the Riverside, where they serve maybe the best breakfast in Thailand, best Thai kitchen in the Tipthara.Luxury rooms with very charming overview to Bangkok, there is a permanent butler-service for each floor, mattress in bed is a dream. I had 5 stays, always excellent and best price performance-ratio.

My wife and myself would like to congratulate The Peninsula Bangkok on its 25th anniversary, We have been guests of the Peninsula since it opened and we never once in 25 years had to complaint about anything on the contrary the service just gets better. The Peninsula can be very proud of your staff from the door men, reception, house maids, restaurant, pool, management staff through to the shuttle boat and of course all the “behind scenes” staff that we do not get to see, they are just wonderful and make our stay all the better. We can say without a doubt The Peninsula is our favourite hotel not just in Thailand but the world. Thank you “The Peninsula Bangkok”

What an amazing hotel! It’s right on the river and our room had a beautiful view. We could watch the boats go by and see the water show at Icon Siam st night. They offer free shuttles to many locations. The breakfast buffet was very good with a huge variety. Best of all, we agreed that our hotel room was the nicest we had ever stayed in. Huge bedroom area, large bathroom, and a a separate sitting area with ample storage space. The service is incredible!
