Siam Kempinski, Anantara Riverside, Millennium Hilton Bangkok, Athenee, Marriott Marquis… we’ve stayed in all. Hilton Diamond, Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite, close to Discovery Loyalty Black… have travelled the world and have experienced a lot. But, we always come back to the ROSH. We were sad to see this property temporarily closed, during the pandemic, but are ecstatic to see that they have reopened. Naturally, we had to return after a five month hiatus. Note: They are undergoing some restoration work. I believe it is their plumbing. The staff have notified us, during check in, but honestly, we didn’t hear much. We checked into our ‘usual’ room, which is the executive suite, and were happy to see that things have not changed. Yes, it is a dated hotel but the staff are friendly and great. Greeted by our favourite loyalty manager, Khun David; served by our friendly lobby bar staff, Khun Bill; and seeing all the usual faces welcoming us with their genuine smile. What’s not to like about it? The only downside was that the club lounge was undergoing renovations, as such, the lounge benefits were minimal. Never mind, something to look forward to in the future. As of the 20th November, the shuttle boat is still suspended so heading over to Icon Siam and Sathorn Pier is not possible. Breakfast is served at Feast and can be manic over the weekend. As such, if you want to avoid the crowds I strongly suggest visiting over the weekdays. Final thoughts, activities around the hotel are limited but I reckon things will pick up over time. But, the ROSH is a great place to stay to just relax, have a nice drink and enjoy the view. Be safe all.

Room Tip: All rooms have the view of the Chao Phraya River but the executive suite is highly recommended.

Stayed just before pandemic for business trip. The hotel is about 30 minutes from city center / shopping district but very nicely located beside a busy river. You can take a ferry to cross to a huge mall across the river which offer lots of delicious traditional food hawkers inside the mall. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Breakfast and Lunch was excellent and lots to choose from.

Stayed at One bedroom executive suite, 24th floor for 2 nights (second stay) Room: The room is divided into 3 parts: living room, bedroom and bathroom. The living room had a large area decorated with a large sofa and I can see the beautiful view of the Chao Phraya River. This room had an office desk that was suitable to work, but the lamp was a little overheated // The bedroom had a comfortable bed, and was able to see the view of Icon Siam opposite the hotel. Moreover, this room had a large TV // The bathroom was decorated with a marble floor. It was subdivided into wet and dry areas along with a basin. I was quite impressed with this room. Food: The taste was excellent, had a wide variety of food, especially Thai food. Club Lounge: It is open at Giorgio. It had a great variety of food. The cocktail was served in a cylindrical glass that I have never seen before in this hotel level. The service is up to standard, but there are drawbacks. For example, when I used the service for the first time, the staff informed me that my room had already been checked out without updating my new stay details. Service: The receptionist thanked me for being a Platinum Elite Marriott Bonvoy member and upgraded my room as well as providing details and opening hours of the hotel. The staff walked me to the elevator. // Giorgio restaurant staff provided the same service as roadside restaurant. It was not like the service standard in the hotel if compared to the food price paid. (Somehow, the roadside restaurant staff may have offered better service.) Previously, I read the reviews about the service provided by this restaurant so that I was able to understand and get the previous review feeling.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel to celebrate the Valentine’s day. One of the main reason to choose this hotel on this special occasion was that we wanted to see by our own eyes the magnificent view over the Chao Phraya River, described by many guests for a long time. Although the property itself was a bit old, the other parts, comprising to become this hotel were just perfect in terms of its location, room, food and staff’s services. The hotel was situated along the Chao Phraya River, the main river in Thailand, flowing through Bangkok. Getting to the hotel by a car or a boat was the most convenient way as it was a bit far from the Bangkok Sky Trains or Public transportations. The Icon Siam, a huge and luxury department store was the right opposite the hotel. There was a free shuttle boat service to the Mall from Sri Phraya Pier, where was within the walking distance. We stayed on the 20th floor in an Executive Suit room. The room was divided into two main parts i.e. the living room and the bedroom and it had old-style built-in furniture, but clean and well maintained. Once we got into our room, the housekeeping team had beautifully prepared something special from folding towels and flower on the bed. Views from the two rooms were a bit different. While the more lively and busier river view could be seen from the living room, the quieter view with no high buildings alongside the river was seen from the bedroom side. The property’s location and the room’s position allowed us to enjoy the stunning views of the River not only during the daytime, but also the colourful lights from the Shopping Mall and several river dinner cruises during the nighttime. Such enchanting atmosphere absolutely gave us a memorable picture from the stay. We were so impressed by staff and their awesome services at every part of hotel. Before the stay, the Reservation team, especially Khun Kae and Khun Air had amazed us by their friendliness and support. On the arrival day, once we stepped into the hotel, we had been greeted by an energetic concierge, who led us to meet Khun Pannate, the Assistant Front Office Manager for checking in. The way she served us showed her professional and polite manner. Although she was wearing a face mask all the times, we could feel a very warm welcome from her smile and charm under the mask. Moreover, Khun David, the lounge manager and the staff at Giogio’s restaurant including Khun Bew, Khun Ice and Khun Na were very active and energetic, although the restaurant was packed. There were not so many selections for breakfast, but some Thailand’s street-food-style food such as stir fried pork with basil leaf was wonderful. We could not be happier than savoring the moment of having good food, sipping a glass of wine and watching the moving lives along the river during the sunset and sunrise time here. In conclusion, this hotel is definitely well worth returning more and more.
