Spent three nights here on a stopover from Laos, it was wonderful, the bed room was great with a amazing view over the river. The breakfast buffet was excellent there was so much choice no one could go away hungry, the coffee kept coming and our waitress looked after us so well. Some tables had views over the river. There... More

We prefer staying on the river. There is a lot of activity and the use of hotel barges and public transport gives easy access to the Skytrain and city. Last time we came to Bangkok we stayed in the Mandarin Oriental. However we can honestly say that we preferred our stay at the Sheraton. Due to a problem with the... More

Location on the Chao Praya River is one of the great benefits of staying at Royal Orchid: at first sight it looks rather isolated but you can reach the piers and take the different lines of Expressboats or the tourist boats which is ,perhaps, the best way to get the temples, the Grand Palace and many other attractions). If you... More

Never been to Bangkok, so decided that being by the river would afford us a better connection to the city. It was as we hoped. The view from our room of the city and river were spectacular and the fun of having drinks by the river, watching the world go by, was a good snapshot of the action of taxi... More

We stayed here for 2 nights as Part of our honeymoon tour of Thailand. We were very happy with the hotel we had a high floor room which looked out over the river. The breakfast was good and filled us up for the day. The Thai restaurant served a purpose for a meal the night before our flight. It was... More

This is a good city centre hotel right by the river and close to the piers where the boat taxis and tourist boats stop. As such it's a good place to explore the huge city from while avoiding the traffic. Breakfast buffets are excellent

If you're looking for a centrally located hotel, with good access to the main sights in Bangkok, the Royal Orchid Sheraton is definitely worth a visit. The hotel enjoys a stunning riverside setting, with tourist boats (visiting Wat Arun and the Grand Palace) stopping just 100 metres away. Chinatown, which comes alive after dark, is within walking distance although some... More

We stayed at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers from 7th-8th Dec 2015. The service was excellent and even though we checked in early in the morning they were happy to accommodate us (arrived 8am and had room by 10am). We had a Deluxe Premium Room 36m2 located on 17-23rd floor overlooking the river which was comfortable albeit tired. The... More

The Sheraton Orchid Hotel, albeit a little dated, is still a wonderful hotel of a stay along the Chao Praya River in Bangkok. Every room faces the river with excellent views. Our room was very clean and all amenities worked flawlessly. The buffet breakfast is extensive and very good. There are two pools. We liked the lower pool set more... More

shouldn't be let down if you stay here, great rooms attentive staff and views of the river, all at a reasonable price. All the extras they will try to sell you are overpriced and unnecessary, don't do it just for the convenience, there is plenty on the door step. Overall I would stay here again.

Staying in Silom

Neighborhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
