Asia Hotel Bangkok emerges as a dichotomy of experiences where the central location and accessibility to public transport are applauded by guests, ensuring a convenient base for exploring downtown attractions. While the spacious rooms are acknowledged for their prime positioning, their cleanliness and modernity receive mixed reviews, with some finding them outdated. Service and amenities like the rooftop pool generally meet guests' expectations, though opinions vary regarding the value and the pool bar. Daily housekeeping garners recognition for maintaining a clean environment, contributing to the hotel's overall appeal.

It was founded in 1966.
The best thing about it is that it's directly connected to the station, so you can get there without going out onto the road.
You can take the airport rail from the next station.

For better or worse, it's an American-style hotel from back then.
The bad thing is that it's old and some parts are not being maintained, but there are more pros to it.
I'm sure it was very high-end back then, but it's old so it's cheap.
For this price, it's spacious at about 28m2, and the bathroom is spacious with a bathtub, and the tub is probably made in America, as it's wide and long.
The bathroom and the table in the room are marble (not sure if it's real or artificial).
The sink is made in America.
Just the shower would be fine, but in Bangkok there are places that don't even have partitions or curtains, so it's a good deal.
I was surprised to get a standard room when I booked this time, the full-length mirror was dirty from aging inside, and the whole room was old-fashioned.
The sink and bathtub had poor drainage (probably within the acceptable range, but I couldn't handle it).
The next day, I asked the front desk to change my room and they did so without hesitation. It was a great response, considering that some hotels try to cover it up by saying they'll fix it.
For some reason, I was given a room one level above the standard one. I was staying alone in a twin room with an extra bed. This room was more sophisticated and I had no problems.

You can't tell from the photos on the reservation site, but they were the same size, and when I looked at the two types, I could see the difference.

The standard room

Renovations are delayed

There are no toothbrushes, bathrobes, kettle pots, or coffee and tea

But there is a water heater in the hallway

I don't know about the standard room, but they change the sheets after one night.

It's amazing that many hotels don't change the sheets for consecutive nights these days, but I don't really care.

Finally, they take a deposit of 1,000 baht in cash, which is returned at check-out, but I don't like it when they give me 1,000 baht on the day I can buy it, it didn't used to happen.

I wish they would make it possible to pay by credit card.

By the way, I have the 1,000 baht at home in Japan.

Its always difficult to chose city hotels and often involves some compromise between price and facilities. However, the Asia is not a bad choice if you want to stay in Bangkok. Its relatively easy to get to from the airport, situated very close to the metro (in fact there is a direct connection to the station), has comfortable clean rooms with working air conditioning and offers very good breakfast. It was also conveniently located for visiting the city. There was ongoing renovation work at the time of my visit but that did not detract from the stay and the roof top pool remained open. If you can find a good deal it's well with considering.

We have stayed at this hotel twice before. I was somewhat disappointed with this third stay. We booked an executive room with breakfast included. The first room we were allocated on the 9th floor was very dirty. There were stains on the carpet and walls and the room had a strange aroma that certainly was not pleasant. The fridge was rusty and dirty inside and froze everything solid. We stayed in the room for one night only. I went to reception to complain and we were moved to another room on the 9th floor. This room although still not great was better than the first one. The manager said that the first room would now be closed to guests so it could be renovated. Its a shame that they wait for a complaint before doing this. The breakfast room although large was very busy, one morning we had to wait for a table to be available. There seemed to be a lot of conferences on at the time making the hotel feel very busy. The pool area on the roof is pleasant apart from when the staff decide to trim the plants and expect the guests to move off their loungers to accommodate them. Also a bit of a concern to see an electric wire from their garden trimmer strapped up with tape right next to the swimming pool. The new reception area is impressive but very dark in my opinion. The hotel bar has been moved to the back of the reception area.
They had signs up on an electric notice board near the lifts that stated that you could have buy one get one free draught beer all day every day. However this sign is misleading as apparently this offer is only on when they decide to put a manual notice board up next to the bar area. So not on offer all day every day but only when they feel like it. The positives to this hotel is that it is linked to the BTS station and only one stop to the airport rail link.

I came at Radisson Blu plaza Bangkok. Good location, enthusiasm hotel staffs like Concierge, front desk And housekeeping.Especially the concierge staff Ms.Nina she was very helpful to in house guests. She did make sure all the taxi drivers to avoid the taxi driver changed the tourists in higher rate. Therfore , i do really appreciate it and its make me feel that hotel Radisson blu care bout small matter of every guests. And this is not every 5 star hotel will do in Bangkok. Thank you so must for all the staffs service i will come back next time.

I went to Asia hotel for a short staycation during my graduation ceremony, I and my parents spend 2-3 nights in suite room, offering great location to downtown area with decent facilities. The room rate is pretty cool with the price and location. Also, breakfast buffet is superb, included different styles of cuisines, ranging from Chinese, Thai, Western. I’d definitely recommend this hotel for those who look up to trip in both downtown area, temples and museums

I’ve stayed at the Asia a few times before and loved it for its quaintness (they used to put a mat in the lift showing the day of the week), old fashioned charm, service, location, facilities and value for money.
Unfortunately that’s no more. No shops in the lobby, the foyer is a huge garish chandelier-like construction, service is efficient but lacks charm. While the main areas have been refurbished, lots of conference and business spaces, the rooms are still a bit old and tired, dark brown wood and ancient bathrooms.
It now has a metro station just outside, it’s still convenient and the price is OK, but I wouldn’t stay there again.

We were supposed to be staying at this hotel for two nights only on our way to Australia however due to the corona virus we ended staying here for five nights.
The staff at the front desk were brilliant under the circumstances and let us keep our rooms until two o’clock each day until travel company sent the vouchers for our further stay.
The hotel is spotless and we felt extremely safe there due to their hygiene procedures.
Every time we left the hotel and returned our temperature was taken and reading shown to us.There was hand sanitizers at many places in reception and guests were encouraged to use them at all times.
The buffet breakfast was very good value at 300 baht each and strict hut was adhered to at all times.
This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel and would not stay anywhere else.
The convenience is amazing as everywhere
is accessible from hotel.
Well done to you all at Asia hotel.

The hotel is very large with full facilities. It connects directly to a skytrain stop. Normally the price is much higher than the special rate that I paid on Agoda ($25).
The room (768) was typical of large, good quality hotels, with an excellent view. However, I was surprised that the room was somewhat lacking in simple amenities that you would expect in a hotel of this size. For example, there was no tea/coffee or cups or coffeepot. However, there was a hot water station near the elevator, and I had my own cup and instant coffee. Also, there were no tissues in the room (only toilet paper). There was no body lotion in the bathroom.
Nonetheless the hotel, location and room was an unbeatable deal at the price I paid.

One of Bangkok's larger hotels located attached to a BTS station the Asia hotel provides a comfortable stay. rooms although a bit outdated are comfortable and a reasonable size. one of the pools was out of order during my stay due to repair work being done but the other pool was fine to use. overall a good stay at an old style hotel

It was too bad starting from the reception. The staffs ignored all waiting customers and cut the line in front of us. I booked queen single bed, but got double bed. I can’t believe it happed here. Moreover, there was no tissue paper in the room, only in the toilet. I was allergic to the dust inside room and had nasal blocking, so I had to use toilet paper for my running nose. All I can here all night were cats and everyone passing my room. It was too bad. I would not recommend everyone to come here. When I checked in, the staff told me that the deposit, cutting out of credit card, will be refunded within 2 weeks, but the different staff told that it will return within 45 days.

We booked via a travel agent so didn’t need to contact the hotel by mail. Check if you email that you use ‘co’ not ‘Com’. Otherwise try calling the number on the website, it worked for us. Hope this helps.

When I stayed there in February, is still under renovation in the lobby. I hope in May when you visited, is already done. The room is so comfy, the bed is good. Just the hotel is an old style hotel. But for me it doesn’t matter as long as the room, the wifi the air con and the bathroom is still in good condition.
