Expect opulence and artistry everywhere you go in #thailand I mean this picture doesn't even give this majestic place justice. The Siam is an elegant luxury hotel nestled in lush, green surroundings featuring only 39 suites and villa rooms.  The hotel is next to the  Chao Phraya  river on Dusit road in Bangkok. The Siam's elegant bedrooms boast high ceilings, bathrooms have separate wash basins and full bathtub. The beds are really comfy and soft for a good night's sleep, and the spacious living room area has a personal bar. All bedrooms look out over The Siam's peaceful garden. You can enjoy swimming in the long swimming pool while enjoying a river view.  When it's time to eat we suggest the Afternoon Tea Set for 2 - a must to try!   Yummy scones, finger sandwiches, chocolate truffles, fruit tarts and a selection of Teas. I recommended The Siam organic ice tea, it's so refreshing with a hint of lemon. For breakfast you can have breakfast next to the river at Chon Thai restaurant. I really love the a la cart menu. They have a wide international selection including; chicken biryani, crouque monsieur, french toast, bagels, eggs, noodles and Thai food, with fresh coffee, hot chocolate, assorted bakery items, cheeses and fresh fruits.

This is long overdue. After watching a CBS Sunday Morning profile on hotel designer, Bill Bensley, we changed our itinerary at the last minute, to include two of his projects in Thailand. These pictures are from our second Bensley stop, The Siam Hotel - a 39-room Art Deco paradise, tucked away from the urban chaos of Bangkok. Set in the historical district along the Chao Phraya River, The Siam’s 3-acres of lush gardens will make you think you’ve wandered into one of the neighboring palaces. It’s that beautiful. For us, however, it is the people who run The Siam that we’ll remember forever - our main man, Than, who catered to our every need; Nick, the general manager, who welcomed us with warmth and made us feel like VIPs; Marisa, the hotel’s executive vice president who checked on us to make sure our needs were being met; and of course, the hard-working kitchen and service staffs. They each reminded us that whatever our job is, it’s the personal touches that leave the biggest impressions on the people we serve. Many thanks to Nick and his team for the in-person welcome & send-off, for acknowledging Kristen’s birthday, the hand-written notes, the thoughtful gift - and for the exceptional level of service that made our time in Bangkok unforgettable.

Response from Nick Downing, General Manager at The Siam

Dear JeffThomasRadio Thank you for taking time to share these exceptional sentiments following your experience with us earlier this year in February before the pandemic took hold of our lives. Many people mentioned the Bill Bensley story on CBS and felt the urge to experience our home by the river here in Bangkok. I am delighted you managed to experience us first hand. We couldn't be more delighted with your comments as I am often heard to say that I believe it's 'easy' to build a beautiful hotel, but it is truly the people that bring it to life and give the experience soul. We hope that you are safe and well at home currently. However we also hope that we have the chance to plan a return to The Siam some day as we start the road to recovery in the months ahead. Until then, thank you again and with our warmest wishes, Nick Downing General Manager.

Short review on Tripadvisor can’t do justice to the Siam. We were met at the gangway off the aircraft at Bangkok airport by our Siam representative, and we were off on an amazing journey which literally could not have been improved on in any way. The staff, premises, rooms, ambience, aesthetic, food. One of the great memories of our lives. Please don’t hesitate to book the Siam, Nick and his wonderful people will do the rest....

The Siam blew us away. It’s a stunning hotel, set in a quiet area right on the river. Close to everything but quiet and calm - an oasis amidst the craziness that is Bangkok. We had the most wonderful couple of days here. The service is fantastic. The butler service was brilliant: everything was taken care of and every possible need met before we even realised we needed it. Our butler even gave us an insiders tour of the flower market. We’ve even developed our own saying since our stay there, “Everything’s better at the Siam”. Honestly, I can’t recommend this hotel more highly.
