From the planning phase of our visit to the departure, we had the BEST stay at the Siam. The staff is amazing, helpful and also not pushy when you want some solitude. The food was ridiculously good and for a location of this level, the prices were more reasonable than other 5* hotels we’ve been to. The room was fantastic and beautiful all at once. A most comfortable bed, strong lovely shower and great amenities. The hotel complimentary boat rides were key given Bangkok traffic and they were able to secure several hard to get restaurant reservations for us. We hope to return and think you should go here now!!!!

Probably the nicest urban hotel I've every stayed in. Not in the middle of stuff for tourists, but it's on the river and they have a boat that can take you to the different piers, which is a lovely way to get around for temples and evenings out. Calm, spacious property. Filled with cool antiques. Huge rooms. Attentive service. Lovely bar/restaurant area on the water.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and had an incredible time. The service from the moment we walked in was top notch. The water taxi service was both helpful and fun. The butlers make you feel welcome right away and are great at creating game plans each day to see everything on your list in Bangkok, and then some!

Never before have I wanted to personally email the hotel manager to express gratitude for the quality of a stay. The Siam is a living museum, with a world-class spa, and the most hospitable staff you will meet in Thailand. Can't recommend The Siam enough. The hotel's reputation is absolutely deserving. Do not hesitate to book a stay here, and in fact, book an extra night and spend a day in the Opium Den Spa. Insider tip, order a cocktail before hopping on the hotel's boat for your travel down the river.

We could not imagine a return to Bangkok that did not include a stay at The Siam! We started our stay with spa services which were EXCELLENT, and it only got better from there! The property is all but flawless, the service is spectacular (we miss you, Bright!), the GM is hands on, accessible and incredibly responsive (we miss you too, Nick!), and breakfast offerings are second to none. Bangkok was the start of our southeast Asian adventure, and The Siam truly set the standard.

The property, the staff and the hotel design exceeded all expectations. From moment of arrival the service from staff was exceptional. The team at Siam make this hotel by going above & beyond which allowed my partner & I to simply enjoy Bangkok's wonders, food and culture. Our butler Sumet was great & was literally a friend during our stay who's local knowledge was invaluable when planning each mornings outing. The hotel itself is something words cannot really express after witnessing the detail & length the owners have completed to ensure a one of kind experience. The vast collection of antiques, art Deco styling, scale of spaces, various break out spaces are incredible. I loved our 3 night stay. It was my 40th birthday to which on our last evening we were suprised by a cake & Wine in our room. Nick runs a fantastic operation and leads a wonderful team. Each night staff waving good bye from the jetty as the boat departed was a wonderful touch to bring anyone a smile.

Dear 93haydenh What a lovely review of your recent experience at The Siam. We are delighted to know we left such an impression. While no hotel is ever perfect, it is the smallest touches which can make the difference and I am particularly happy to hear our team exceeded any expectation. Your Butler, Khun Sumet is definitely a shining star. His genuine personal and friendly approach to everything he does comes from his heart; simply wanting the very best for each and every guest. So thank you for highlighting his efforts in particular. Thank you again and we truly hope to welcome you back again soon. Warmest wishes from Khun Sumet, myself and all of The Siam family. Our 2 day's stay was made unsafe, uncomfortable and suffocating. So many things have gone astrayed like a practical joke and whilst the hotel had an opportunity to rectify they on thr contrary made things worse on the second day. No consolation whatsoever from The Siam, although we were assured that the GM, who was away at the time, was made aware and would like to speak with us directly upon his return. We were not sure why the empowerment was lacked. And with only 38 rooms to manage and with the modern day technology they lost me at why we have not heard anything. No action was taken and we came to a conclusiom that The Siam operates completely different from the other luxurious hotels we know. Our requests were simple and staright forward; privacy, which was ignored throughtout. Every time the butler approched, he touched our arms and shoulders. We made our concerns clear to the Hotel Manager who already was aware of such habit yet did not stop it. Although, the hotel did not see it unappropriate to touch the guests, we did yet our request was not listened to. . The villa 107 was in poor condition. They left what looked like a 3-day old dead gecko and some cob webs in. The door to our bedroom could not be locked which we were told was a result of a recent innovation. The engineer managed to fix at around midnight. We went to bed 2 hour later than usual becuase the hotel failed to complete a post renovation inspection. . Another confusion was when we called and asked a front officer if they offer any pillow choices and he said he did not know. Apparently, they do, though, as a housekeeper showed us later that night while the engineer was fixing the door lock. . At that point the Night Manager felt embarrased of the treatments we have had and offered to rebate the whole package for us; room with breakfast, indl on arrival, a full meal and a spa treatment for 2 pax. We were impresses, but tried to be sensible and asked him to discuss with the management team first. . Worse still, the next day our peaceful breakfast moment was shattered when the housekeeper(s) broke into our villa despite the Do Not Disturb sign only to try to fix their own mistakes which we pointed out the night before.

Dear openakati Khun Chinakharn NP Firstly I apologize for any issue regarding your recent experience at The Siam. From the review and images above, it has obviously left you very upset overall. I am deeply sorry that circumstances had got away from me after my necessary trip home to see family in Australia recently and I neglected to call you immediately upon my return to Bangkok. Knowing I had dealt with you personally before during your earlier reservation process, I asked my team to allow me to get back to you personally. It is my fault alone that I had not got back to you sooner as I was aware of what happened (in real time) during your stay as well as fully briefed on my return. That being said, I am deeply saddened and I must say a little shocked you took this course of action before contacting me first, considering our past open communication. Since your review, I have tried contacting you numerous times to discuss directly without luck or response from you. Hence I must take this unusual opportunity to share some comments in return to provide some explanation for clarity. Due to correspondence and previous issues with you during the reservation process, our team was on highest alert to take all care and attention regarding your experience with us. Knowing this; you were allocated one of the prime pool villas which was (soft) refurbished late last year. Indeed it seems during that process, part of the door lock mechanism of the internal bedroom door was not reinstalled. While this is an internal door within the villa itself and not the main entrance door, I understand this caused you quite some distress in the evening and our team did what they could to put your mind to rest and rectify the issue as quickly as they could. I apologise sincerely for our team missing the cobweb in the bathroom. And with regards to the other picture taken of the internal pocket ‘garden’. While I am sorry that you found this small lizard which has passed away obviously causing you extreme distress, I must point out (for clarity once again) that this is a decorative pocket garden which is not regularly accessed. However thank you for the reminder that we need to check all areas as best as possible. I know our management team put much effort into trying to recover the situation overnight and in the morning regarding the above and also concerns you mentioned regarding the personal style and approach of your butler. I understand even our efforts to recover the situation created further issue for you which I am sorry. As I have written to you in recent days many times, I hope you allow me the chance to talk directly so we can finalise any issue outstanding at The Siam so we can put these issues behind us and you may find happiness in your travels ahead. Sincerely. Nick Downing General Manager

Having travelled extensively for work and pleasure I have to say The Siam is possibly one of the greatest hotel experiences i've had. It sums up what a luxury experience should offer. Every aspect of The Siam is first class. Stylish on every level yet simple and unassuming . Whether escaping the hustle and bustle of Bangkok or positioning yourself as a Bangkok location , staying at The Siam is a unique and unforgettable choice . Nick Downing the hugely welcoming and charismatic GM has really positioned this gem of a property at the highest level. Can't wait to have a chance to spend longer there. Mik and Kat Allen

I stayed here in August for 1 night and from check in to check out, the service was seamless, personal and non intrusive. I was staying in a courtyard pool villa, the room was immaculate, the ceilings were high, the bathtub was enormous and the decor was spot on in terms of keeping with the design of the hotel. The speedboat from the hotel drops at various points along the river making it very easy to see the sights - it's an absolute haven to return to, after a busy day in the City. The food was presented beautifully and delicious. I could have spent all day in the Vinyl room!, Thank you, Nick, Tarn, Bright and to all the staff at the Siam for my wonderful stay and allowing me to see another side of Bangkok.
