This is my standard for what a boutique hotel should aspire to be. The hotel is a converted house, with apparently 7 rooms for guests. Each room is unique. Our room had antique furniture and we felt like we were guests of the family, not customers. We stayed with my folks and their bathroom had a little garden beside the... More

It was very cute, beautifully built house style hotel equipped with necessities. We stayed on the second floor and both rooms were quite nice. Staff were so kind. Beakfast was good enough to give us the energy to start a great day. It is 5 mins by walk from khao San and located off the main street - quiet and... More

We've stayed four days at Baan Noppawong. We have intentionally decided not to stay at one of busy hotels in central Bangkok, It is a quiet and very elegant place, totally isolated from the noise traffic of the surrounding area. It is surrounded by many traditional restaurants that are not frequented by tourists. Perfectly located if you want to visit... More

The hotel is in the centre of the old city where you'll hear birds chirping from your bedroom. It presents a unique experience to live in an authentic Thai house, albeit modernised, and with impeccable service. The floors are hardwood and creaks when you walk, which can be annoying if guests do not walk softly. The rooms in the main... More

The Baan noppawong is an excellent place to stay at a convenient location close to many sites of interest. Nice people work here and they are very helpful. Comfortable room and bed. Delicious and substantial breakfast. Plants in bathroom are a nice touch. Would come back here on a return visit.

This is a fantastic, quiet, little hotel in a perfect location. We felt as if we were staying in someone's house. It is small and personal and so clean. The staff were extremely helpful and kind and nothing was too much trouble. They went out of their way to provide us with information for our stay in Bangkok. We were... More

We stayed here for 1 night at the beginning of our Asia tour and were not at all disappointed! We had a lovely room with a gorgeous bathroom and the staff were really friendly. The location is great if you want to be close to the Khao San Road without being on it. Would definitely recommend and return.

My friend and I stayed three days at this beautiful little hotel in the heart of the ancient city of Bangkok. The hotel has been created from a colonial home, so the rooms are small and the experience is intimate. You will not believe how quiet it is! The staff is also small and could not have been more attentive!... More

We have just left our 5 day stay at Baan Noppawong. Great location, walked to many sites, one block off major road for taxi, tuk tuk and Uber pickups. We added breakfast after we got here, good value and tasty. Staff very friendly, gave recommendations for the area. Neighborhood was OK to walk in as a couple after dark. Room... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Baan Noppawong is the finest small hotel located on Ratchadamnoen Klang Road, in the middle of Bangkok historical district. In the past, it was a two-story wooden house exquisitely built in the 19th century, during the reign of King Prajadhipok (Rama VII), for M.L. Ditsaphong Noppawong and Mrs. Salee Noppawong Na Ayudhaya. Nowadays the dilapidated house has been renovated by preserving its original characteristic and gorgeous elements. ... more   less
