This renovated wooden hotel is tucked down the back of a temple, and leans out over the river. And it's simply beautiful. As other reviewers have said, it can be hard for taxi drivers to find. We were able to put the driver of our taxi on the phone to the hotel's reception to give directions which worked fine, though... More

Hidden within a temple by the river, this place is an oasis. A walking distance from Hua Lamphong station, away from Bangkok's madness. Kind people, lovely breakfast, unique rooms. Will definitely return.

Spent our first night in Bangkok here and it was outstanding. Beautiful, relaxing, atmosphere (we stayed in the black room). The staff is kind and helpful, and the food is AMAZING. We loved that it's right on the river but party boats and tugs can be a bit loud, so maybe not the best for light sleepers. We were fine... More

The Loy La Long is really a lovely place in Bangkok. The location is extremely good because you can reach everything in the city very easily. The house is wooden and original Thai style and directly at the river with a nice view on it. However, this is also its only but biggest drawback. The ships on the river are... More

I booked a reservation months in advance, called & confirmed a late arrival but when I arrived at 1 am they had sold my room. Horrible experience. Then when we called from the airport they didn't even tell me until we were almost there. Not a great way to start a vacation. Time to make lemonade out of lemons.

Definitely not for those who like large, new hotels. Instead it is a way to savour the real history of Bangkok. A stay in an antique house actually in the Chao Phraya. Views from bedrooms are unforgettable, staff are terrific and food is excellent. Can't imagine a nicer way to escape the chaotic life of Bangkok.

I must say when I was walking here with my husband who booked it I was very worried. It is quite hard to find and alot of tuk tuk drivers dont know where it is. Once you find it within the temple it is a little gem. Very different from what we have been staying in throughout asia on our... More

Stayed here twice on vacation. The first one was in the Orange room which was nice and cozy for one person - be aware that my cozy might not be your cozy! - it was a comfortable stay though, with great river front seat view and excellent breakfast selection! The second time I booked again the Orange room but was... More

Loy La Long was the first place we stayed at over the course of a two-week trip to Thailand, and I can honestly say that it was one of the best - if not the best - out of the five hotels we stopped in during our holiday. It is truly an oasis in the madness of Bangkok, as all... More
