We visited to Bangkok from 28/02/2020 to 01/03/2020 and we stayed at Bangkok City Hotel. We booked the hotel from online and we requested the higher level but they only gave us the room at six floor and the room view is quite poor. The price is a little bit cheap and happy to stay for budget trip. The staffs were warm and polite but can’t get enough information like trip charges. The room decoration is quite good. The worst thing about the hotel is breakfast and we only have few foods to choice.

We stayed as a family with a 3 year old kid. We had inconvenience with the keycard as it is not working with the lift and we ask assistance every time we go up.

The reception staff (I wasn't able to get the name) rudely told us to come down at the lobby, when we asked where could we get spoon and fork at around 9-10PM, as nobody can send it to the room. My kid and I went down to get it and give us the disposable one. As the keycard is not working, we came back to the reception and they said, our card is working fine as per checking in their system. My child said, "Mama, we can not go up in the elevator." and another staff mentioned (the supervisor, I think) that was because we are supposed to be staying in the room and should not be there, speaking directly to my kid in a child talk. I didn't answered back and argue, for we all know why we went down at the lobby. After some time of checking, they didn't change the card or fix the problem, Choung which is another staff at the reception sees what is happening and offered to assist us in the lift.

The breakfast offered is quite good. It does not have much options but you have the choices. At times, you wait to be seated for many guests are here by the time of our stay (last week of December).

The location is favourable, convenient stores are left and right, even the street foods. We walked from MBK Center to the hotel and even the Pratunam Market is quite nearby. The 11th floor room we have had offers a nice city view.

The pool on the 5th floor is closed at 8:00PM even if the staff mentioned that it will be closed at 9:00 PM. When we were there, that was before 8:00PM, they off the lights and we are forced to stop swimming.

We didn't stay the room/hotel all the time as we are wandering around the city. But so far, you can still see the good and the bad on how they handled their guests.

I commend the reception staffs, Choung and Mind for helping us out most especially the keycard concern which until the checkout date is still a problem. And the concierge that help us with the direction.

We can still say we have had a nice stay in this property and will be looking forward to stay here again in the future, with a recommendation, that the reception staff should be more polite and be trained on how to communicate properly.

Awesome. Almost Everything!
Spacious room, great bathroom amenities, great breakfast all taste very good. Cappucino machines are awesome!
Near BTS just walk less than 10 mins. The hotel is in the main road with some 7-11 around. Will come back in near future..

Cons: small lobby, small restaurant but its ok, the bed is not comfy you need to replace them to new ones !!

The priority of this hotel is price, location and food. Beside these, it really make me feel uncomfortable. Before booking, i called to ask the staff that is it okay to put an extra bed for standard room? She said yes. When we arrive to hotel to check in,we were told by the staff that actually standard room can't add an extra bed. I said i called to ask already. They say whom do you ask? I feel like....! Finally extra bed come after we are in room for almost 2 hours. Furthermore, air-condition not working, they come to fix it after i told them 3 times within 5 hours. You guy don't just realize it's cheap and choose. You can pay a little higher than this at another hotel to get a better service. Highly not recommended especially for family trips.

I highly recommend this hotel, great value for the price we paid. But lemme just point out some issues we encountered during our stay. We booked two rooms, the other one had an issue regarding the air conditioner. It was not cooling the room properly. When we told the front desk about it, they immediately provided us a portable air conditioner. It was space consuming but worked really well. Thank you to the hotel staff for the speedy response. Oh, and, we had a hard time taking a bath due to the placement of the shower in the bathroom. It was not practical. You could definitely make some improvements.

I spent 1 night here and had a pleasant stay. It’s walking distance to the BTS and airport link. The staff were friendly and professional. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

My only complaints were that the doors are loud when they close so I was woken up multiple times throughout the night and early morning from people coming and going for their rooms. Also, there was no curtain or door for the shower so the bathroom gets soaked when you have a shower.

Overall this is a nice hotel that I can recommend.

I have stayed at many hotels in Bangkok, but this hotel is one of the worst ever. Way to many customers. The morningbuffet is located together with the reception, where people check in and out. Chaotic, when 200 noisy people want to eat at the same time. There is not enough tables and u have to make your way around people with suitcases, after u have collected your food from the buffet. The cleaning is very bad. I saw the same spot in the toilet for 3 days. The only positive thing about this hotel, is the location. It is in walking distance from MBK and Pratudam

Room is clean, the staff are friendly and they attend to you fast when required. Breakfast is included and its included when u pay for your room. Eat all you want. There's a coffee machine at the lobby which serve you 24/7 free of charge. The best part is that there's a bubble tea kiosk and seating area at the front of the hotel for you to watch the hustle and bustle of bangkok's buzy road while enjoying your drinks. There's also 7-Eleven and ATM which are located beside the hotel. 5-10mins walk to pratunam shopping area, platinum mall, big C, central world, etc. And not to forget a 5min walk to the nearest BTS station. Overall, i would say this hotel is perfectly located and well run. 👍👍

They have a counter downstairs, price stiff and it looks dingy. Walk towards platinum and along the road, there are those taxi bike stand that includes services for van rental tours. Those offer far better deals. Can bargain too

I recommended making use of the BTS sky train, which is a few minutes away from the hotel. If you are not interested in public transport, we also made use of GRAB. Download the app, similar to Uber but more cost effective.
