Come to this guesthouse if you are not sensible to ignorance and rude people...otherwise you are better of with the twins around the corner. Only good thing to say is the tidyness of the rooms. Atmosphere has gone because the owner transformed this place a moneymaking machine instead of staying the family guesthouse that it once was. Sad!

This is always a lovely place to stay in Bangkok. It's in a quiet Soi near the river, and just far enough away from craziness of Khao San Road to be peaceful. The guesthouse is a converted traditional Thai house and the family that runs it has lived there for several generations. You can still see the odd picture and...

I've been staying this family run guesthouse more than 10 years. If you are not looking luxury strongly recommend this guesthouse. Great location near the Chao Praya river. 3 mins walking distence from pier. Less than bus stop. Affordable prices when you compare others around.

We stayed here as it was cheap and recommended. From the moment we got there to leaving we never felt welcome in the place. It was perfectly clean and tidy and of you want any simple help or advise for the area don't bother asking. We even had a tour booked and when the collection was 30 mins late we...

All you hear about this place is relatively accurate, except I think I have figured out the terrible discontent with which the Individual who runs this wonderfully located, spacious, and fair priced rooms in this most intriguing place...you will notice a black and white picture of an old lady near on top of the fridges, just look at her closely,...

Stayed many times in this guesthouse, because it's pretty well located. Close to Kaohsan Road but in a quite Soi ! To mention would be the Safety because of a kind of jail metallic front door. DON'T FORGET YOUR KEY IN THE NIGHT, BECAUSE AFTER 8 PM, THE OWNER WILL" IN NO WAY" RESPOND ANY MORE ON THE BELL !!...

I always returned inspite of the grumpy owners because the price is good for te location, rooms are spacious, It has a common area, drinks are cheap and so on. i cannot say much against the guesthouse itself as it is clean, quiet and cheap as well. But i have never been feeling welcome as a guest here. Its almost that you feel guilty to be there. The owner does cooking classes and she has been around the world. But apparently she hasnt learned that much about socializing with other...

Yes, the owner is 'eccentric', i.e., not exactly gregarious. But what's that matter if you're looking for a good place to sleep and chill. Rooms are great and spacious. Place is kept quiet most of the time. Far enough away from Khao San to enjoy atmosphere of local lifestyle. Access to everything you need. Reasonable prices. And it's situated in...

Having known the place from 10 years ago as well locaded, affordable, quit and clean we were badly disappointed this time. Not only was the owner more than unfriendly and not willing to support with an easy phone call when we were waiting for the pick up to Cambodia. When we returned from the tour, having deposited our baggage, he...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
