Great Location&easy transport. I choose because it is near the chao praya river since this time I want to have tour to the palace and temples near the river. The transport to the palace is cheap. I go by taxi for 50 bath for 10 minutes(since it's very hot that day- 40c- even though it's 8 am). And when return... More

We spent two nights there. The room was very small, but nice and clean. The staff was friendly, but not too eager to help. Very nice rooftop bar and restaurant. About 5-10 Minutes walk to Khaosan Road, but not so crowded, which was nice. Be careful, people around who try to trick you into these "sightseeing tours" with a Tuktuk... More

Close to Khao San Rd. (5Min on foot), but far enough to be quiet, close to boat/ferry pier (3-4min on foot) with easy access to the the Old Bangkok, the temples, Chinatown. If going to Siam Sq., Silom, Sukhumvit - need to take taxi / tuk tuk. Room was cleaned every day (with fresh towels & drinking water), helpful &... More

I was very excited to return to Fortville again during this recent trip to Bangkok. The rooms are still the same and there is even a roof top bar that opens up in the evening and served great food. RPO coffee is still the best espresso I can find in the area. The changes? The staff has changed and does... More

Our first time in Bangkok, we chose Fortville from our LP guide. It was one of the most priciest of our backpacking trip, but we don't regret it. We stayed in a room with A/C, a low-to-the-ground bed, and tv. The room is quite small, and lights are dim at night. You get wifi for 3 hours a day. The... More

After several times stayed at Bangkok, this time, just want to find someplace quiet and convenient just as a transfer spot to other place planed to go. Pros: This one is quite close to Kao San rd and tourism area which u can find all kinds of travel info and transportation pretty much to very where. We didn't have too much... More

I have been stayed twice at this guesthouse and probably will choose it again if I go to Bangkok. The location is far away from the airport but easy to reach the tourist spots, 5 mins walking to Pier No.13 and 10 mins from Khao San Road. The stuffs are friendly and helpful. The room is simple and basic but... More

Rooms were very clean, good shower, a bit small (not too bad). Location is a 5 minute walk from Khaosan Rd. So close but quiet. I would prefer a better location in Bangkok though. Somewhere with access to Metro and / or Sky Train. Only way out of here is by Taxi / bus. Over all it was a good... More

Stayed there in January 2012 for 3 nights after a month trip to Myanmar. Best thing about the place is it's location. Not being much of a party person, and yet curious about Bangkok's night life, the Fortville is approx 5-6 minutes on foot from the kao-san. In other words its close enough to be able to enjoy night life... More

I stayed for 2 nights here with my boyfriend. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were ok, could do with some paint on the walls though as it looks very bare. The bed was very close to the floor which I don't particularly like. No safe deposit box in the room so you have to leave anything valuable... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
