First of all, public transports in bkk are awesome, except in the Khao San Rd area, where the only way to reach the others part of the city is using the river boats. For this reason, is important to find an hotel near the pier and near Khao San (not too much, if you want to sleep). This hotel has... More

Our room was quite small - no space for luggage or even small wardrobe. Well, this place was clean, but you can smell mouldness in the air. There is 7 eleven next to hotel and distance to Khao san road is about 8 minutes walk. Trip agency is just next door. Nice terrace on the ground floor, cool view from... More

The Fortville Guesthouse is about 10 minutes (by foot) away from the well-known Khao San Road and therefore pretty easy to reach and very central at the same time. First things first: The staff is great! They speak english quite well and they are very helpful while being friendly and patient with lousy foreigners at the same time. ;) If... More

The people for the recepcion was nice in the begining, but just when i make the chek out and leave bkk one day later, when i checked my money to pay another hotel i could saw they stole me almost all my money, they just leave me a little just in case if i check quickly. When i call to... More

For good walkers the place is perfect for its location makes it easy to walk around without spending a single baht with transport. The place is simple bit clean and staff is very Nice. As most hortels in thailand do not offer breakfast, i strongly recommend the thai coffee at 7/11 Just accross the street or a delicious noodle Soup... More

It is unbeatable location as it is right next to the gas station which is close to the Fortress. There are two 7-11 convenient stores nearby. Some good italian restaurants, 70 year old noodle shop, famous Roti shop, and at the corner to Phra Arthit Rd. khao san road and other attractions such as, temples are in walking distance. The... Location was good, room was small but sufficient with awesome pillows and a fantastic little air conditioner. The bathroom had a mould smell but I couldnt see any mould. Staff were friendly but only in passing, maybe because they werent so confident with their english. The guest house lacks a common area where you can meet other guests which makes... More

My bestfriend and I arrived in Bankok in the morning and got to Forville guesthouse (without any hassle via airport train then cab) a few hours before check-in time. We were advised to place our bags in the concierge and even offered if we needed to do some freshening up. We opted to just walk around and have lunch instead... More

The hotel was perfectly located and excellent value for money, it was situated within a walking distance from khaosan Road. Right in front of a local supermarket, and right behind the river. The building is quite modern even though the rooms are just made of concrete and quite small. Bathroom and shower were nice! Wifi available + computers downstairs. The... More

Very clean, very nice and helpful staff, good and central location (15 minutes walk to Grand Palace, many possibilities for streetfood, good massage places...), nice rooftop bar with live music. They have a safe in a separate room, so bring a lock ;-) All in all a good cost-benefit-ratio.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
