"...just be a decent human being". And with a place like this it can be a toss up, but the owners know how to cool things down and keep it steady. Spent a week here, when I thought it would only be a couple days - truly a place to overstay. A few friends and I cooked a huge meal... More

I spend like a week in this amazing place, it was full of art and diferent kind of people that I enjoyed to meet. Is not the place that you should go looking for tourism experience like comfortable and stuff, but is a magic place full of culture knowledge and respectfull people.

Good: hella alternative kids (really easy to vibe with 'em--1 single good thing imo), staff is chill AF, really cheap, can play musical instrument almost anytime you want, clean showers Bad: hella far away from the center (but $3 tuck-tuck ride away) Ugly: smell of dirt-mold-alcohol. Warning: do not get the single bed (at least get one window).

The Overstay is more than just a hostel. It's a testament to all backpackers, artists, lost soul, new soul. It's this very equation that makes it so special. If you're looking for a nice, comfy and quiet place, then move along. If you're looking for an experience, than come to the overstay. It's a place worth visiting in Bangkok and... More

We arrived at the Overstay and liked it so much that we spent almost two weeks in Bangkok, something we definitely wouldn't have done otherwise. It's an open art space with murals on the walls, instruments for guests to play, constant jam sessions, and weird but awesome community of wanderers passing through. Also there's a puppy, a kitten, and a... More

Such a cool hostel out of the hustle and bustle of khaosan road but still relatively close to the centre of BK. Friendly cool staff in a unique environment unlike any other hostel. Perfect for any artist or musician or anyone who's looking for something a wee bit different

I loved this hostel. It has a very cooperative environment, which means there's always people to talk to and drink beer with, but it's definitely not the most quiet. Sometimes they play music over the speaker as loud as they please and there can be big crowds of travelers hanging out wherever. It's a little dirty in the living spaces... More

This place is great, admittedly not for everyone but if you are a backpacker on a budget and you don't mind living in a basic dorm/room then this is the hostel you need to go to. Firstly, the thing we all want to hear is that it's cheap. I ended up staying here a month, partly due to the cost... More

I originally came to the overstay because when i was in Cambodia a few years ago multiple people were talking it up. I also was only planning on being there for 3-4 days but ended up being there for 30 days. The staff are incredibly welcoming, creative, fun and have tons of knowledge of things to do in and around... More

The Overstay was an incredible experience and much more than just a Hostel. It is a bar (open 24/7) which held some amazing music events, an inspiring art space and of course a home- complete with an outrageous Overstay family who are kind, fun, helpful and friendly. Brilliant in every way, the Overstay family make you feel like one of... More
