Convenient place but very grumpy, miserable and unfriendly staff will greet you at the reception as you enter. I saw the male and female receptionist gossiping and laughing as soon as they saw me, no smile and looked at me with angst as if I just bothered them in a very important meeting, said, “Check-in, passport!” No hello welcome thank you please. I was appalled. If you want to explore khaosan road and have fun, party every night and get drunk and wasted plus you don’t mind the noise this place is for you. I booked the queen room looks decent but I would’ve expected more, it looked standard to me. No one cleaned my room at all which I found strange. With all of the cons of this place with convenience of the location being the only pro, I would’ve given this place at least a 3 or 4 stars but the staff at the entrance doesn’t appear to have been trained at customer service at all. Man at the reception desk was very grumpy and looked mad whenever you talk to him. No smile at all. Woman at the reception was horrible. I called because the internet connection in my room was very poor and is not appearing. She said password each room unique come down I give you password. She wasn’t even listening to me as I explained to her the username of their wifi is not appearing at all. She kept on insisting the password different each room ok come down I give you password. No active listening then she just dropped the call so I went down and she hid at the corner and let the grumpy man talk to me. I explained the situation. He just stared at me apathetically until I just gave up. Luckily I bought a SIM card with internet. So if you need internet and just want to stay in your room once in a while to rest. I would not recommend this place. Customer service has a long way to go. At the counter there were so many angry customers as I walked out of the hotel. They were complaining that the hotel was a scam. I just shook my head and walked off.

Always stay here when I visit Bangkok. Great location, clean hotel, staff friendly and the pool/bar is a great place to relax. When I checked in there was a problem with my blackout blinds which was quickly sorted and I was moved to another room. They haven’t spent any money on it in the past few years and it’s starting to show but it’s cheap, clean and cheerful so that wouldn’t stop me booking. Always ask for a room at the back of the hotel as the front is right on Khaosan Road so you won’t get any sleep if you are in before the bars close. If you aren’t it doesn’t matter.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Very very very loud. The guy at the front desk made us pay for extra toilet paper after only giving us one role between 4 people for 4 days.. also only gave us one key card to get into the room until we demanded a second one. Do not stay here

This hotel was one of the comfiest I’ve slept in! The bed is amazing and the air conditioning is exceptional. Coming from Ireland, my boyfriend and I were kept cool from the intense Thai heat outside. The pool area is nice and clean. The hotel is situated in the centre of the Koasan Road strip. We stayed there for 3 nights. The road is extremely busy with very loud music and partying. The one night we did not party, we could hear the music quite loudly from our bedroom. As well as this, a lot of noise woke us in the halls with young people coming back from partying between 3-5am. This didn’t bother us at all, however I feel it would really affect the holiday of families or couples looking for peace and quiet! A general tip - don’t get a taxi from the airport to the hotel without setting the price to 500 baht MAX. Anything higher, and you’re being overcharged! We learned this the hard way! 😅

This place is terrible. Stayed in 2012 and back then was amazing, 10 years later on return don't think this place should even have a license to operate. Arrived tired and smelly after a 8 hour flight just wanting a shower and to meet up with the boys for a beer except no one at the front office. Make my way across the road to Dang Derm in the park where I'm given the key to my room. Walked back across, open the door to my room, used towels on the bed, rubbish literally spilled on the floor. Returned to the front desk where the staff were very apologetic and gave me a key to a different room. The room was hotter than outside so I left the aircon on whilst out. Get back to the room- room thermostat sitting at 34 degrees- outside its only 32 degrees- the air con doesn't work. Tried to sleep but felt like I was sleeping in an oven.I changed rooms twice more the same night neither of the rooms had a working air conditioning unit. Stayed 3 more nights purely based on the fact that it is on Khao San but never again.

Been coming to KSR for some 25 years but since the last time, there have been some significant changes. Gone is the ‘charm’ to the place to be replaced with what appears to be an competition between every bar to see who can turn up the music volume the loudest with the result being an assault on the eardrums at every step. For the hotel - required to wait a long time whilst the staff try to find the booking, given a room in the 3rd floor and the keycard doesn’t work, back to reception, now given a room on the 4th floor - key card not working again, back to reception and met with a flustered staff member who finally managed to programme the card - then into a room with the mattress on the foor. I’m not sure if the inefficiency lies with the staff or the system but whatever, it’s not working well. On the positive side, the room was clean and well prepared. In general, a two night stay reduced to one simply because of the noise issue. KSR was always a favourite spot in bkk but the music volume has in this reviewers opinion, spoiled this once charming and colorful street.

1. The reception staff should not be working in the hospitality industry! 2. The rooms are shocking… extremely small and it was not possible to leave the blinds open in our rooms because they are overlooked by rooms 6ft across a small atrium. 3. No bedside table or lamps in the room. 4. Nowhere to sit in the room except on the floor! 5. We booked mainly for the roof top pool… but the roof top area was a building site… we were told we could use the hotel across the road pool, but not particularly convenient for an 8yr old child! 6. Windows were mouldy and damp could be seen on the ceiling. It was so bad we requested a refund within 15 minutes of arrival.

Stayed at the Dang Derm with my girlfriend for 4 nights. Located on Khaosan Road, it is in the lively part of Bangkok. Check-in and out was straightforward and had WiFi throughout hotel grounds. Roof top pool and bar area is a big plus, food is decent too. Value for money very good and would stay again

First off, I dont mean that Bangkok or Thailand are a trash pile, quite the opposite in fact, however khao san road, is most certainly a dump. It's a backpackers dream, drinks and drugs 24/7. Dang derm hotel is the best accommodation I saw on khao san road, modern and updated, at least our room was, the mattress lays on the floor, but is comfortable, the breakfast at greens and cheese is decent as well, plenty of options. Very noisy at night time, but is to be expected. The only issue I saw was with the balcony, small and very sketchy construction, not safe to stand on. The rooftop pool is incredible and you can see much of bangkok from portions of it particularly the highest mezzanine. Internet access is great, especially for streaming. Only a 5 minute walk puts you at some of the most beautiful temples that hands can create and eyes can view. Simply stunning. We enjoyed our stay here very much and will stay here again should we be in the area.
