Stayed at the Dang Derm with my girlfriend for 4 nights. Located on Khaosan Road, it is in the lively part of Bangkok. Check-in and out was straightforward and had WiFi throughout hotel grounds. Roof top pool and bar area is a big plus, food is decent too. Value for money very good and would stay again
First off, I dont mean that Bangkok or Thailand are a trash pile, quite the opposite in fact, however khao san road, is most certainly a dump. It's a backpackers dream, drinks and drugs 24/7. Dang derm hotel is the best accommodation I saw on khao san road, modern and updated, at least our room was, the mattress lays on the floor, but is comfortable, the breakfast at greens and cheese is decent as well, plenty of options. Very noisy at night time, but is to be expected. The only issue I saw was with the balcony, small and very sketchy construction, not safe to stand on. The rooftop pool is incredible and you can see much of bangkok from portions of it particularly the highest mezzanine. Internet access is great, especially for streaming. Only a 5 minute walk puts you at some of the most beautiful temples that hands can create and eyes can view. Simply stunning. We enjoyed our stay here very much and will stay here again should we be in the area. …
It was a spectacular first accommodation for us to start our travels. The rooms were very clean and spacious! The rooftop pool was had amazing view of the busy Koh San Road below and the city in the distance. If you don’t mind loud music until early morning then this is a perfect place for you, if not then it would be best for you to find somewhere to stay not on Koh San Road. The only fault we had was the bar was quite overpriced, but there was plenty 7/eleven’s within walking distance. Highly recommended for young couples or groups to get a feel of the busy Koh San Road below.
Rooms were clean and well presented, amazing rooftop pool which was open until midnight making it a perfect place to sit in the evenings! Koh San Road is an extremely busy and lively road, so if your not a fan of music until 2/3am then I suggest you don’t stay here. As a young group of people we were not put off by the noise, the bar was pricey but other than that we were very happy !
First up, this place comes with complementary earplugs. That should say enough. Not many good things about this place. The location is bad - while you’re on Khao San Road, that’s not a good thing for the place you want to sleep. It’s extremely loud until 3am (when the subwoofers are turned off). And I’m in my 20s, not adverse to partying. This place is FILTHY. Sticky couch covered in someone’s spilled drink, mouldy bathroom, floor not mopped, bathroom counter not wiped down. We paid extra for the superior double room because it has a bathtub but we didn’t even use it because we discovered at 10pm that the tap was broken, and it was leaking water out onto the bathroom floor. When we complained next morning, the response from staff was too bad, we should have told them prior to checking out (we only stayed one night). The breakfast is also quite average.…
