We recently spent two nights at the enchanting Bhuthorn, a beatifully restored shophouse in a very well located conservation area, now turned into a three bedroomed guesthouse. The family that run the Bhuthorn are delightful, very helpful and friendly. Our room, "Bhuthorn" was well furnished and very comfortable. Breakfasts and tea were delicious. We found our room a little noisy... More

A boutique hotel very close to the Grand Palace is so homey and beautifully restored. The rooms are romantic, exquisite, all different styles and very comfortable. I felt like I was back in old Siam with modern conveniences. Chitlada, the owner, served us fabulous breakfasts, great espresso drinks, and helped us with normal tourist advice as well as some difficult... More

Decorated with the owners’ personal collection of antiques and Thai arts and craft, the Bhuthorn is an elegant place to live in. The building itself is more than 100 years old and it was faithfully restored by the owners who are architects themselves. The beds are firm and comfortable and the rooms were beautifully decorated. We had a pleasant breakfast... More

My friend and I had the lucky fortune to spend 1 night here at the start of our Southeast Asia vacation and another 2 nights at the tail end - WOW, we LOVED this place! Breakfasts are yummy, location is great for the Grand Palace, plus the street food joints around the corner are soooo good!!! enjoy!

Our taxi driver had trouble finding the Bhuthorn (pretty common, apparently) and after driving through some dark alleys we weren't so sure about this hotel. But as soon as we got to the door, we had a lovely warm welcome and knew we'd come to the right place. Each room is decorated with the most elegant antiques and gorgeous tiles.... More

We stayed three nights at The Bhuthorn, it was a perfect start to our holiday, in every way. I cannot really add any new comments that have not been expressed already - just believe the reviews. We really enjoyed Bangkok, I believe a big part of this was down to The Bhuthorn.

This was the start of our Honeymoon and it was a great start! No anonymous getting lost in a big fancy hotel, but a very personal service that has one true purpose: making you feel comfortable and in a state of well being. The setup of the hotel is unique, charming and very intimate. But their most valuable asset is... More

I had the most wonderful stay at the Beautiful Bhuthorn. The feeling is like staying at someones home and yes this is a beautiful and well balanced home. I started my holiday with five days in Bangkok and enjoyed every moment of my stay. I will surely return to Bhuthorn when I travel to Bangkok in the future. I remember... More

My husband and I stayed at the Bhuthorn for 6 nights (2 separate trips) in Oct 2010 and we were lucky enough to have stayed in all 3 rooms, which by the way, all are quite nice. Honestly, we travel all of the world and have stayed in guesthouses in many countries, but the Bhuthorn is our favorite. Chitlada and... More

My husband and I stayed in this hotel on our way through Bangkok, and enjoyed the location, decor, and personalized service so much that we stayed again on our way back through Bangkok. The owner/hostess was helpful well beyond duty and was a pleasure to get to know. She went out of her way to address our needs, which included... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
