Just a special mention of the many kindnesses shown to me by the Club Millesime executive club team at Sofitel Sukhumvit. Micky, Khaow, Ann, Tum & Nok took great care of us and the food and drink selection was outstanding. Definitely worth the extra cost staying in Executive floors.

Check-in: We arrived at the hotel around midnight. Thus, not much conversation with the front desk staff but the check-in process is smooth. Quite a disappointment as no room decoration nor complimentary cake (honeymoon trip) was provided. The request is acknowledged by an assistant guest relation manager via email. Room: We booked a luxury king room with city view. It is spacious with an individual shower room (powerful and high pressure), toilet and bathtub. The leg of glass desk is detached (Room 1706) when we tried to push it into the cabinet. TV console, side tables, and wardrobe have a woody smell. The room might need refurbishment soon. Breakfast: Great selection of breakfast. We liked the fruit juices, danish, egg benedicts, cheese, etc. The F&B staffs are polite and attentive to our requests. Location: 5-10 minutes walking distance to BTS station (Asok or Nana). There is a link bridge to Asok station. It is an ideal hotel if you prefer to travel via BTS or MRT. Check-out: Smooth process. The concierge staff is helpful by helping us to weigh the luggage.

The Sofitel Bangkok has certainly fallen far from where they were before. Had left a 5 star rating from our trip and check in to Sofitel Bangkok in Feb 2020 where the room with Club Lounge access was superb, hospitality at check in was incredibly impressive, and Breakfast was the best ever I would rave about. 2 years later when travel is possible again, Sofitel Bangok was no doubt where we wanted to be at again. Room with club access was also what we wanted from the impressive past Sofitel experience we had. Sadly, booking a club room (4days 3 nights) was the biggest regret this round. A regular 4 star hotel in the same area would just be the same, simple, clean and decent, and definitely 50% cheaper. Sofitel is no longer delivering standards relative to how much we have paid, and with Club lounge access. 1st. On the day of check in, Club rooms are no longer attended by Level 31 lounge check in staff like before. Attending to us was a pretty unfriendly staff (Name: Benja) at the regular L1 check in counter. I offered to show her my booking reference from the Accor App to ease her finding our reservation. She shot back "Let me find in system first ok??" Fine. Shall let you be. After a while of searching she couldn't find our reservation cos this was due to passport name and check in name spelt was different, and obviously the reason why I offered to produce our booking reference. 2nd, room given to us this time 2606 was a much smaller room compared to 2601 we had 2 years ago. The espresso machine was also missing from our Club room for which I questioned on our check out day. Again attended by staff Benja, she shot back that Only Room with Club Access will have the coffee machine! Responding to her bark, I replied that We booked a Club room. She then checked her system and said system indicated our room is a club room. I then had to say okay, then where is our coffee machine then? After checking, she then apologised that the coffee machine was not set up, and said what she can ONLY offer to please me was 2 complimentary welcome drink that only members have. I was already checking out and definitely not thirsty. 3rd, when booking the room with Club access, aside from the daily cocktails and the supposed great hospitality, the 4pm check out was also what enticed us to spend the extra $. However on check in day, Benja shot back check out time is 12pm not 4pm. And that she 'kindly' give us a 'complimentary' check out at 2pm. We do not need your complimentary 2pm check out as we have definitely paid for it for the 4pm at time of booking. 4th, Breakfast is no longer served at the club lounge. Breakfast spread at Voila though still good, is definitely slightly lacking from 2 years ago. The impressive cheese spread in the cheese room was now just a selection of 2 cheeses. Hospitality from Voila staff was great, attentive and friendly. In summary: 1. If you had to stay sofitel, just book a normal room 2. The club lounge access at level 31 was just normal simple cocktails with very normal food bites. Save the money you would have spent on lounge access on better cocktails at Belga or other sky bars where 1 drink is probably 350baht at most. 3. Our club room is missing the coffee machine which they had forgotten to put in - cos that was just a normal regular room and the guest before us likely was checked in without club lounge access. 4. Think 10 times before you decide if booking a Sofitel Bangkok Club room is worth what you'd be paying. Cos definitely in our case, basic expectations in services, check in, room, breakfast, evening cocktails, hospitality from check in counter and lobby were not met.

Sofitel is located right in the heart of Sukhumvit and while it is close to the red light district area of Soi Cowboy, I personally didn't feel any seediness. Check-in staff were very polite and after a long flight, was much appreciated. The room given to me was very comfortable and was very spacious. It even had a nice little office area to do work from which was very much appreciated. Internet was fine. Breakfast was also pretty good with a great spread and one that I enjoyed thoroughly. My only gripe was that the office area in the room, all their electric plugs did not function and seemed to not have been checked for a while.

stayed here 5 nights, checked in was fast and given room 2316, facing the main sukhumvit road. room is spacious and clean, bed is comfortable enough, 4 bottles of water daily. Room service is good, everyday before noon time already completed routine room cleaning. some minor problems were noticed during the stay, the shower temperature not stable , have to be careful water may suddenly become very hot. Wifi is slower compared to other same level hotels, and last is the sound proof problem, even at 23 floor, still can hear the sound when the train passing by BTS. overall a normal 5 star city hotel, nothing to shout about.

This is the best hotel stays I ever had in bangkok. We had previously stayed at other 5 stars hotel but none of them was as good as our recent stay at Sofitel. Lobby was not big, but it was adequate. Very nicely decorated with a tinge of class with its marbled floor and walls. Check in was smooth and fast. Instruction was clear and all queries answered quickly. Room was a good size with a huge bathroom and a bed that’s bigger than king size. Very well decorated and the hotel has a turn down service which we liked personally. Views from the room was awesome. The hotel offered the best breakfast spread which we had ever seen. The quality was good and presentation was appetizing. Service standard was more than adequate with servers remembering our table and serving the freshly cooked dishes. Keep up the good work!
