We ate at the Woodbrook Cafe in Urby Hostel, which is open to the public. The coffee was excellent. The view on the deck was superb. The decor and vibe were very chill. A great pit stop of serenity in Bustling Chinatown!

-Hostel is new, cozy, and spacious. -Opening areas are quiet enough for guests enjoying their own time. -The roof is especially outstanding. Facing riverside, having sunbath, buying drinks from the café and bar next door are really chill. -Stayed in private guest room as all dorms are full. Clean but no curtains. If you are not good in sleep, better to prepare eyeshade. -Cereal and milk are freely provided until 11am. -Hot and cold water, fridge, microwave and tableware are provided as well. -15-minutes-walk to Hua Lamphong mrt or around 90b for 10-minutes-grabcar. -3-minutes-walk to 7-11, local street food. -Hostel Urby is really recommended for single traveler. Not only because of the reasonable price, but about the relaxing experience.

Hostel Urby is a real gem in Chinatown Bangkok, I loved the atmosphere of Songwad road where you really feel in the real Thailand and the location is also great ‘cause is just a couple of steps away from the famed Yaowarat road and 10 mins walking to Hua Lamphung station or Soi Nana Chinatown. There is a nice Cafè where you can get a tasty espresso with 10% discount and a Bar open from 5pm to Midnight with very good prices reserved for hostel guests. The terrace with the river view is amazing.

Cute little hostel in China town - clean, comfy and modern. It is located near the ferry pier with a superb view but a bit far from the BTS - not a problem for me because I used Grab bike instead and it just costed marginally more than BTS. The hostel provides free corn flakes and milk for breakfast, and has some snacks available for purchase round the clock. The cornflakes just taste better with the river view! The public area is well arranged with plenty of seating on beanbags or sofa. There is also a cafe/bar with a nice menu but unfortunately I didn’t have the time. Staffs are a little more reserved than most hippie hostel and are courtesy and nice. The people at the hostel are less interactive than an average hippie hostel as well. There’s no lift and there’ll be 2 flights of stairs before you reach the reception. Overall, it’s a superb valued boutique hostel for people who want to be out of the hustle and bustle.

Last year (2017) one of my Japanese friends suggested that if I were to go to Bangkok again, I should try to stay at a hostel called Hostel URBY located in Chinatown Bangkok, next to the Chao Phraya River . I was born and raised there but my husband & I have been living in Sydney since 1974. We followed our friend's suggestion and stayed there for 2 weeks. We were impressed by the cleanliness and structure of the place. The price was incredibly cheap. The hostel has a balcony with a million dollar view of the river, and many resting areas within the hostel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was also a coffee shop in the hotel packed with locals and tourists. The location was very convenient being in the middle of Chinatown with no shortage of food to eat 24 hours a day priced from $2 to $40 a meal. We could also buy souvenirs at wholesale prices. The structure of URBY was converted from an old warehouse by 3 architects which explains the modern, young look. It is a hidden gem among the old buildings of Chinatown. I wish I had taken the time to take more photos. Attached are some photos of our bedroom and the view. I would recommend this place to anyone, whether young or old. We plan to stay there again.

As the place just opened i could stay here fairly cheap. The place is clean, with comfortable beds and matrasses. A great outdoor deck and a simple cereal breakfast. There is a fridge and microwave for comunal use. And there is a amazing deck overlooking the river. An absolute relaxing place to just chill. Point of info. The hostel is located on the 3rd floor with no elevator!

The hostel is nice and quaint, within 5 minutes walking distance from China Town. The place is new, clean and well-maintained. My friends and I stayed there for 2 nights and we are pleased with the services provided. The room is big and comfortable with 4 bunk beds and enough spaces under the beds for our luggages. The shared toilets are clean and hairdryers are provided as well. The hostel also has two public areas where we can chill and do our own things. My favourite part of the hostel is the outdoor deck overlooking the Chao Phraya River and the view is amazing at night! It is a great hang out place and would be even better when the bar is ready in a few weeks time. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for affordable stay with great view in Bangkok.

The hostel was nicely decorated and clean. We had fun chilling and relaxing at the balcony which has an awesome view of riverfront. Location was great too as it was only five minutes walk to Chinatown area :) Price was reasonable and definitely worth the stay!
