Casa Vimaya is a cozy yet elegant hotel on Phra Sumen Road, part of a historic neighborhood of Bangkok. Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Location for KSR is excellent if you want a short walk without being right on top of the nightly noise and lighting! Ideal if you select a room over the canal/river which affords even more night time peace and quiet. Reception staff are friendly and efficient, rooms are a good size (Riverside Deluxe - King Bed), shower was great and bathroom had what you would need, including a bath in our room. The bar/restaurant was okay for the odd drink or food but rather over priced and underwhelming compared to what's on offer within the vicinity - take a short walk in any direction for better food, drink and prices. Buffet Breakfast is served in the canalside restaurant area and was okay, limited selections though plentiful and the coffee could have been better. I would recommend this hotel if the location suits your needs, the staff were good, the rooms very good and the immediate area has plently on offer for eats and drinks.

I really enjoyed staying here, we stayed for 4 nights. First impressions are great, reception was spotless and smelt lovely! Oat who checked us in was fantastic and his english is brilliant. Our room had petals on the bed and in the bathtub. (This was our first stay of our trip & on our honeymoon) Room was of a good size and very clean. Bathroom was large also with complimentary amenities also a robe and slippers. You get 2 free waters a day. (Do not confuse the free bottles with the evian bottles in the mini bar you will pay for them). The pool on the roof was great, it was always very quiet only a couple people there at a time, there was also a little seating area if you didn't want to be sat at the pool. This area is beautiful at sunset dipping your toes in the pool with a cold beer.
Only downside was you pay extra for coffee at breakfast (filter coffee included) but if you wanted a nice machine coffee it was extra. One unhappy husband at breakfast time, many hotels include this in the hotel price, especially if you're paying nearly £100 a night anyway. Also the air conditioning unit in the room was quite loud, we both sleep with ear plugs so it wasn't too much of an issue but if you don't I would say to take some with you.
I would 100% stay here again, but please don't have any hidden extras. :) Thank you Casa Vimaya! x

Registration and checkin was very simple. They provided me a wheelchair the first day as i was very exhausted and my legs gave out.
There is a 7-11 across from street. The hotel provides 2 free bottled waters per day. A Travel agency is very close by as the hotel does not have a tour desk. Casa Vimaya always responded to my email questions prior to my arrival. Super friendly day and night staff.
A TV with free movies and English speaking stations was very nice. I used a two prong converter box to charge my phone and camera.
Nice breakfast; breakfast starts at 6:30AM. Very good buffet: bacon and ham, fried scrambled eggs, several different Thai dishes daily, fruits, vegetables, variety of breads, coffee, tea and OJ.
Door has a peephole. Big nice bathtub and shower; everyday they provided a new toothbrush and toothpaste as well as free coffee/tea/cream & sugar in the room.
Air con worked well. Luggage rack on wall, small refrigerator and a self programmable safe was available at no additional cost. Free wi-fi at a reasonable speed. Many restaurants close by.
I would recommend highly of this place and would reserve a room with a balcony to observe the klong and watch the fish feeding in the morning.

We stayed here for 5 nights in late 2019 and it was such a beautiful hotel. The location is perfect - it's very central and a short walk from Koh Sahn Road but in a quieter, more residential area. The staff were incredibly polite and welcoming and even let us use the pool to cool down while we waited for our room to become available. The rooftop pool has amazing views of the city and the bar has an excellent choice of drinks. My favourite thing about the hotel was the bohemian interior design, it gave the whole hotel such a relaxed and modern vibe. The room was absolutely perfect, it had a big bathroom with an excellent shower, a very comfortable bed and a cute little balcony. We didn’t eat very much at the hotel because we wanted to sample the street food but the breakfast was delicious, and you could sit outside overlooking the river. Honestly this hotel is one of the best we’ve ever stayed at and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

We are just ending our 7 day quarantine at Casa Vimaya. We have been most pleased with our choice. We were not looking forward to staying for 7 days in a room but we were most impressed with the hotel and it’s staffs organisation of the quarantine regulations. The COVID testing and results were handled expertly and the room facilities and requirements provided us with everything we needed. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Having the small balcony allowed us enough freedom to get fresh air and had an interesting daily view. We received great value for this enforced quarantine period. It is in such a Central location in Bangkok, too. Whether it is for the new one day quarantine or the previous 7 day session, my wife and I can thoroughly recommend Casa Vimaya. Thank you to the management and staff for making our stay very welcome.

Very nice hotel. The location is less than 5 minutes from the busy streets of Kao San Road. Our room faced the street but we were able to sleep without problems. The room is very well equipped, very pretty and very large. We were able to enjoy the rooftop swimming pool, very pleasant with its bar. We had breakfast very well supplied and two meals: 1 at noon and 1 in the evening and we really enjoyed ourselves. The staff are very competent and very kind. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return there on my next trip to Thailand.

When we first arrived, the room we were give had window with a view to a wall with just a tiny space showing you the outside that was a little lot with garbage. Because I knew the hotel wasn’t full, I asked for a new room which they kindly gave me.
Pros: The rooms and the hotel were beautiful and clean. In an area of the world that gets intense rainy seasons, a room that didn’t smell musty was big bonus. The pool area was also nice. The staff was all kind during our interactions.
Cons: We had a hard time getting our room cleaned. We had to ask multiple times in one day even after doing all the asking, they still never came. The bar and restaurant were both closed probably because of COVID so you can’t fault them for that. The area of Bangkok it is in is not very convenient- I didn’t realize this until after being there. Taxis are pretty cheap, but the train stations aren’t close by.

Staff friendly and polite. Good breakfast. Nice restaurant's terrace for a breakfast and a roof top terrace with a pool. Good location for visiting north part of historical centre. Do not miss to take a walk and a boat ride(s) at the cannal. Air-conditioner in our room was too noisy to sleep with it turned on as it should be repaired. Also, a noise sealing at the room's door against the corridor is rather poor. A very strange and unusual notice in rooms: A toilet paper can not be thrown in the toilet but in the basket next to the toilet. What???

We stayed here for a few nights on the first leg of our honeymoon. We had actually booked it because the place we stayed last time had closed down and this was in a similar location and had a similar offer.
It was a perfectly pleasant 3 star in a good location in old town Bangkok, not far from Khao San Road (but far enough away to be peaceful). Good access to the pier to catch the express boat and because the hotel backs onto a canal it’s a bit quieter than many in the area.
The rooftop pool is small but well maintained and a welcome change from the Bangkok heat. The buffet style breakfast is varied and includes Asian and western dishes and fresh fruit.

The room was a health hazard with broken flooring and cigarettes/buds left in the balcony. This is a SHA approved hotel, so did not meet the standard. Part of the package included 3 meals - but food was inedible (food was rotten, and meat left out in the heat which caused a terrible smell). All of this made it difficult with a 8 year old child.
