Casa Vimaya is a cozy yet elegant hotel on Phra Sumen Road, part of a historic neighborhood of Bangkok. It boasts colonial-inspired decor and four-star facilities and is conveniently located in the old part of town – close to Khao San Road, the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and within easy reach of the best of downtown shopping. We think of Casa Vimaya as maintaining a dialogue between the area’s vintage architectural charm and practical modern aesthetics. It’s a luxurious oasis amid the wonderful surroundings of historic Rattanakosin Island. The architecture pays tribute to bygone days. The modern conveniences soothe the weary traveler. And guests craving a nostalgic culinary experience will enjoy dining at our restaurant alongside a historic canal of the type that once abounded in Bangkok, earning it the name “the Venice of the East”.

Stayed 15/09/22 to 19/09/22 Room 3011 (No balcony, facing out of the front of the building on to the street) A great find. I first found this hotel in 2019 prior to the pandemic and just couldn't wait to return. I booked with trip with family and friends as I found it a great hotel back in 2019 now we archer in 2022, it didn't disappoint. Located just tree streets back, or roughly a 4 min walk from the infamous Koh San Road, this hotel couldn't be located in a better position. The rooms are clean and spacious plus the staff are incredibly helpful. Once negative was that the air-con wasn't cold enough. It was cold on the first night but all of us on the trip (three rooms) noticed that it wasn't so good moving forward. This meant we had a few nights where we didn't sleep as well as we would have liked. Other than that, there were no complaints

This is our second time at the hotel and we love the location very much still. It's by the river and really calm. We booked a room with a balcony towards the river and it was really spacious and big. We love the breakfast. So relaxing to sit there in the morning and it doesn't feel like you are in Bangkok. Only con is the struggle to get a taxi. They refused to drive on taxameter as always. You can also walk to Khosan Road that is just a few streets away.

First of all I have to say that the room we have booked and all other is as expected. Second, i have to say that communication and service is the worst. We arrived, the first we got the wrong room. We booked the more expensive one to have a Balkony and river view because we had to wait for the Covid test. So balkony and bigger room is useful. First we got the wrong room for 5 hours, so we had to wait in a small uncomfortable room to get the test result. After asking three times it was possible to change to the room we booked. We arrived at 7:30, my test Result came at 15:55…that’s okay. The test result of my wife came at 19:28 because they had struggle with the name that’s also okay. But no one told us information about the status, and everything else. We got food but no one told us the time for it or everything else . I always had to ask and make trouble to get Informationen abut everything. Sorry but it’s not recommended to book that hotel in corona time. Unorganized and no Informationen….never again

When we first arrived, the room we were give had window with a view to a wall with just a tiny space showing you the outside that was a little lot with garbage. Because I knew the hotel wasn’t full, I asked for a new room which they kindly gave me. Pros: The rooms and the hotel were beautiful and clean. In an area of the world that gets intense rainy seasons, a room that didn’t smell musty was big bonus. The pool area was also nice. The staff was all kind during our interactions. Cons: We had a hard time getting our room cleaned. We had to ask multiple times in one day even after doing all the asking, they still never came. The bar and restaurant were both closed probably because of COVID so you can’t fault them for that. The area of Bangkok it is in is not very convenient- I didn’t realize this until after being there. Taxis are pretty cheap, but the train stations aren’t close by.

Arrived 8am, PCR-test on side at 11am, result at 7pm. For a couple the room is quite small. The food, breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good though. Book a room with balcony! Gives more light, space and more to see while you wait for the result. Furniture a little bit dated.

The hotel was not what we expected at all. The pictures, clearly taken about 10 years ago the decor is now old and dated. I would really avoid. We chose here because we could have an onsite PCR, that was at least smooth. Whenever we went to the desk there was no one there to help! We always had to ask for clean set of towles, only ever left 1 set. And corridors look like a hospital; it's really off putting. I didn't feel like I was in clean covid free hotel. Pool was small and univiting, and bar not open. The only plus is enjoying the wildlife on the river. I would not come back. For the price you can stay somewhere else a lot nicer, more convenient and value for money

The room was a health hazard with broken flooring and cigarettes/buds left in the balcony. This is a SHA approved hotel, so did not meet the standard. Part of the package included 3 meals - but food was inedible (food was rotten, and meat left out in the heat which caused a terrible smell). All of this made it difficult with a 8 year old child.

Stayed here for the test and go and was less than impressed. Poor value compared to others in hindsight in terms price vs quality. Rooms are smaller than what they look like on the photo. The place looks dated. The food was pretty mediocre and housekeeping poor. I won’t be back.

We are just ending our 7 day quarantine at Casa Vimaya. We have been most pleased with our choice. We were not looking forward to staying for 7 days in a room but we were most impressed with the hotel and it’s staffs organisation of the quarantine regulations. The COVID testing and results were handled expertly and the room facilities and requirements provided us with everything we needed. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Having the small balcony allowed us enough freedom to get fresh air and had an interesting daily view. We received great value for this enforced quarantine period. It is in such a Central location in Bangkok, too. Whether it is for the new one day quarantine or the previous 7 day session, my wife and I can thoroughly recommend Casa Vimaya. Thank you to the management and staff for making our stay very welcome.
