1905 Heritage Corner is a lovely, unique and very special place to stay. The rooms are gorgeous, with amazing attention to detail. All the spaces are so beautiful, you don't want to leave (books, nooks to read in, so restful!) The staff are wonderful and the breakfasts incredible. The location is superb - we were able to walk to so many attractions (the Grand Palace, the Emerald Buddha, the Reclining Buddha, the river and ferries, Khao San road, etc...) but what was most amazing was walking the neighborhood, eating at the street stands, and just enjoying time at the park with wood fired doughnuts and mango shakes watching the games and the families enjoying their lives. We could not have had a better stay, or a better place to stay!
What a gorgeous little boutique hotel. All of the previous reviews say the same, but it really is a beautifully restored building in the middle of old Bangkok, right next to various temples and the Grand Palace. The rooms are gorgeous and there are lots of lovely touches. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer, we arrived fairly late and had to leave early. Staff are fabulous, and had collected us beef noodle soup for our arrival as we’d requested, and made us coffee and toast even though we left before 6am, which was incredibly thoughtful and many places would not have provided us with anything so early. I hear the breakfasts are amazing and we will definitely be back next time we are in Bangkok and we will definitely stay for longer!
This is a beautifully restored and converted shop house (Originally sold tea) in the heart of Bangkok. The Grand Palace, Wat Pho and many other beautiful temples and sights are a ten minute stroll away. But you are actually located within Phraeng Phuthon which is like a village within central Bangkok. The number of tourists here is very low and you are staying in the midst of a living community. The hotel itself is absolutely amazing in the way it has been restored in keeping with its historical heritage and in the attention to detail throughout to ensure comfort. The staff are exceptionally helpful and really try to help ensure your stay fulfills all your expectations (Which it did!). If you're looking to explore old Bangkok and see a slice of real Bangkok life away from the standard five-star hotel tourist circuit then you can do no better than 1905 Heritage Corner.…
This is a wonderful, cosy and atmospheric hotel ideally located in the centre of Bangkok. The Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and many good restaurants are a short walk away. The staff were just great, very friendly and helpful.
The room was perfect in every detail with clean, modern facilities in historic style & breakfast was a feast with something for all tastes. A short walk from unusual shops, magnificent palaces & temples, this place is a polished gem.
1905 Heritage Corner is an intimate boutique guest house in the heart of old Bangkok, steps away from Thailand's most significant attractions, including the Grand Palace, the Emerald Buddha, and so much more. I had warm and personal attention from 1905's gracious hosts. The rooms are gorgeous, luxuriously appointed with artisan soaps and hand-picked linens and bedding, and are very comfortable. The property itself is on a quiet historic square set back from Bangkok's bustle, a serene neighborhood where it seemed residents and shopowners had known one another for generations - and includes some terrific street vendors for a quick bite. 1905 is a welcome contrast to chain hotels and an unforgettable experience. Family owned and operated, you can tell the difference from the moment you arrive. Highly recommended. (Pro tip: Ask them to make dinner reservations for you at the world's only Michelin-starred street vendor, Jay Fai, about a 10 minute walk away; book early, it's one of the most desirable reservations in town.)…
I sincerely recommend anyone (especially foodies) to stay here at least one night when in Bangkok. - I am extremely sensitive with beds, I sleep on a Hästens at home and have gotten very spoiled so going anywhere else than Four Seasons I will need to ask someone to add blankets under the sheets in order to sleep properly - this was not needed here to my surprise. The beds are super comfy! - The location is superb! Close to all the important Bangkok sights and right in the Old town, an area that is often missed by tourist but possess the authentic flavour of Bangkok despite it being very close to Khao shan Road. - The owner is super friendly and really takes the time to support your itinerary and willing to go the extra mile to its guests, such as giving a tour of the local market, introducing a very cool hidden apothecary with an interesting history where I bought the best skin reliefer that saved me from the mozzie bites later in Hua Hin - everyday a new unique thai dish is presented during breakfast in addition to western breakfast and it is so delicious and well-presented. Like a pinterest dream. Loved it!! - The room is very stylish and a lot of attention for details. Despite the heritage style it is super clean and the room is filled with quality, not quantity.…
We stayed for 1 night only in Nov 2018. This is an incredibly nice little hotel, beautifully decorated “heritage style”, great choice of high quality toiletries, ambient perfumes and decorations. What made it most special was the hospitality of Nan and Mark who gave us a lot of advice on what to do in Bangkok and made our stay memorable. The breakfast was fabulous, a mix of European and Thai and if we stayed longer we would have asked for more Thai options We loved staying there, highly recommend and we will come back!
We spent 2 nights at 1905 Heritage Corner and enjoyed immensely all the beautiful traditional touches in this small hotel. Mark and Nan have renovated this former tea-house located at walking distance of main attractions in old Bangkok. They went out of their of their way to facilitate our stay in many ways.We would happily stay there again.
We have stayed in many hotels in many countries, but this has been our favourite, ever, anywhere. It is a new hotel at the heart of the old historic district in Bangkok, in what is often described as the city's most beautiful square. The hotel, very small, is a shophouse that originally sold tea, and the renovation, done recently, is brilliant: sympathetic, witty, beautiful, detailed, a bit hip. It has been done with great design and craftsmanship, and the result is rooms that have a great peaceful dignity. We found ours romantic, but not in a fake or overdecorated way. Our first floor room had four windows overlooking the square, so every day we could feel part of the life unfolding in this very old and interconnected neighbourhood. There was a early morning rhythm of rooster and cats and squirrels, and of older women doing tai chi, of food stalls quietly setting up for the breakfast and lunch trade, and people returning from the nearby food markets. The square is surrounded by shophouse restaurants, most of them generations old, that cater nearly exclusively for local people. The food is very good and very cheap. In the evenings, people sit and talk to neighbours, and eat at tables set up on the footpaths, and young men play takraw in the park. This square is within a few hundred metres of the Grand Palace and of the river, and within twenty metres of one of the main streets in Bangkok, but it is quiet and peaceful and *real*. But, as good as all this is, the best thing about this hotel is the owners and staff. They are lovely young people who are doing this work out of a real sense of hospitality. They love Bangkok, and know all about it, and want you to enjoy yourself and their city. They do not supply dinner (there is no need with a dozen or more restaurants within 100 metres), but the breakfasts they supply are marvellous and memorable. They began offering us western breakfasts, which were delicious, but when they worked out how interested we were in Thai food, they devised different options for every breakfast, chosen with a view to what was best that morning in the market. We ate so well, and learned so much, and felt so cared for. We will be forever grateful for their care and tact.…
