Stay X-traordinary at Bangkok's only X-theatre Hotel. We deliver a boutique hotel experience while staying social and fun! We are a heritage hotel, yet our vibe is definitely hip and laidback. Prince Theatre Heritage Stay began life 100 years ago -- first as a high-rollin’ casino, then a neighborhood movie theatre and eventually as the purveyor of skin flicks. Through it all, the Prince remained the heart and soul of Chareon Krung’s quirky riverside street food paradise. Now, after a long hiatus, the Prince is back. This time around we’ve set it up as Bangkok’s most fabulous boutique hotel with a contemporary collection of premium lofts, private suites, accommodations for a family and group of friend. Our stylish interiors are inspired by the theatre’s heritage and the local area’s art and creative scene. We’ve held on to the Prince’s century-old teak beams, it’s original Art Deco screening room and vintage stained glass windows - and, of course, it’s cheeky theatrical spirit.

For someone like me who is a budget traveler and loves exploring culture, this was a perfect place. The location is at the heart of a neighborhood where you can experience the vibrant culture of Bangkok. There's a food market just around 200 meters from the hostel and a lot of food stalls within the area. If you go out early morning, you will see Bangkok in its raw color! The place is also near the train station (Saphan Taksin) and the Chao Phraya Boat Cruise Central Station. It's easy to go around Bangkok from the place. I stayed in a dorm room with a shared bathroom and found the bed to be comfortable. The capsules are designed to provide privacy for the guests. There are lockers provided but you have to bring your padlock. I love the theater-themed atmosphere and the lobby area where you can work and enjoy some drinks at the same time. They turn the lobby into a theater every afternoon and you can enjoy movies on the big screen while enjoying free popcorn.

Beautiful, spacious and fun. Felt like I had the place to myself. King suite was spacious and well appointed with fun and sexy art, lofty ceilings, cold AC, large flatscreen TV, strong wifi, big comfortable bed, separate couch and workspace, wardrobe with terry cloth robes, and separate toilet and shower (consistent hot water and overhead rain showerhead was a nice perk).

Easy check-in with friendly staff and fun lobby bar/theater. Set off from a quiet but busy alley with several street food vendors, cafes, and massage parlors. Centrally located. Will always stay here when/if in Bangkok again.

Strategic Location. Near to Bus Stop, many food sellers and convenience store nearby. The accomodation was clean but the dorm room has a bad ventilation. They have a dedicated sharing bathroom in every room. The bathroom was clean enough. You can store your bag/luggage before you check in. They provide towel, blanket, shampoo, shower gel and lotion. You can refill your bottle from dispenser in front. Love the hostel design, so theatrical like the name. They got Myanmar Puppet shows at Thursday night. You can buy breakfast or order foods from the kitchen. There's also a working space area you can use. The reception could be friendlier and informative.

This place is the pits. The linen was not changed since the previous occupant the bed space floor was dirty. I complained to the hotel reception and the next day one staff just made the bed but did change the sheets as requested or clean the floor. There were no films shown in the four days I stayed there despite their website at the time of this review stating that films would be shown. At the breakfast I was told we could only have two slices of toast or I had to pay extra, they also had coffee but no tea when I explained that I had high blood pressure I was told that I would have to pay extra for tea.

Fun hostel/hotel in great location. Accommodation itself was just OK. We were in a “Duplex Suite” and I liked having separate living space. It was too cumbersome to get our luggage up to the sleeping area where the closet space is, so we kept ours under the stairs.

They do not maintain the facility enough to win the battle against the elements. See other review re:bathroom. It’s the kind of place where you put your keycard in a slot to make the electricity work. Some switches appeared to do nothing and two lamps did not turn on. When we left, I noticed the housekeeper cleaning the next room in the dark and thought, no wonder it looks that way. Dusty, dirty, grimy. We were there two nights but our room wasn’t refreshed while we were there so we had to ask the front desk staff for more toilet paper, shampoo (empty on arrival), and water.

If you opt for breakfast included with your room this is the entirety of the buffet: hot water, Nescafé packets, two kinds of cereal, milk, banana bread, scrambled and fried eggs, orange juice, lots of fresh fruit. You also get two slices of freshly toasted white bread with butter and jam packets brought to you.

This place is unreal value for the price. Its a beautiful building. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I know negative reviews are about the bathrooms and a/c. This is due to guests.

The a/c works fine! You are hot, because you came from outside, then you play with the a/c remote and it starts blowing hot air. Just leave it alone. Its good.

The bathroom is always wet, its true. Buuuut, if you simply close the shower curtain, the water stays inside. Crazy concept I know.

This place is beautiful for so many reasons. Come!

Nice hostel. I have stayed here several times. The only problem with this hostel is that some guests have no consideration for others. In the dormitory itself. The hostel is a big place and has lots of chill areas and places to congregate together. Even an outside area. Yet for some reason some guests seem to find it ok to talk loud as if they are the only ones in the dormitory. Most hostels tend to put a sign up about no noise after 10pm in the dormitory and to respect others. Unfortunately Prince theatre still fails to add these signs to their guests. Which I have mentioned numerous times to the staff. I think this will be my last stay here.

Great place right in the heart of the city walking distance to the river. Check out Jacks Bar right on the river for beer and food. If you buy anything at the hostel with a credit card, you must pay a minimum charge of 300,000 Bayt, even for a beer that costs 150,000 be careful travellers.

Conveniently located in a lively neighbourhood with an abundance of spectacular street food and walking distance to BTS and Chao Phraya express boats, the Prince Theatre Heritage Stay offers a charming, comfortable retreat from the Bangkok's sensory overload. Our charming room was very comfortable and spacious (and surprisingly quiet, with very little street noise despite the bustling location). The staff were welcoming very friendly and helpful. A unique and delightful experience.

It is a hotel to share a room.
They have an open area for reading and having breakfast next to the reception. It is located in an alley, let's say, a little peculiar.
We were here two nights. The first when we arrived in Bangkok, the next day we went to Cambodia, and again when we returned from Cambodia and left the next day for Chiang Mai.
We shared one night with 2 families, 8 people, the second we had 1 room for each 4 people.
The rooms have mattresses on the floor in some kind of boxes. In the apartment we had there was a bathroom.
Both nights there were problems when checking in since the reservation made by Hotels.com could not be found in their system. The second night we spent 1 hour checking in, from 11:00 p.m. Also, at night, there is only one guard who does not speak English and neither does the staff who came to solve the problem. They called the managers and we were able to solve the incident over the phone.
Except for the inconvenience of check-in, it did the job we expected.
