Bob, the manager/owner, was extremely helpful. The small Innspire Bangkok was located along an old city canal not accessible by car. Bob, who spoke English, German, and Thai, met our taxi along a nearby street that spanned the canal and accompanied us the hundred yard or so walk to the hotel. When we left he assisted us back to the street with our luggage where a taxi to the airport was waiting for us. The hotel is an old picturesque structure with a small lobby full of couches and books to trade and with a pretty tree shaded patio where breakfast is served and where guests relax in the evening. Our room was simple and relatively small, but perfectly adequate. The location is a big plus. We loved walking along the residential canal where the hotel was located while people who lived there went about their daily lives and the cats and dogs dozed on the walkways in the afternoon heat. The hotel is well located, within walking distance (for us, anyway) of major old city sights. We really enjoyed breakfast, especially the banana pancakes and the bowl of fresh fruit salad. A pleasant hotel, a great location, and a hard working, helpful manager and staff made Innspire Bangkok an experience we thoroughly enjoyed.…
We thoroughly enjoyed the several nights we spent here leading up to and including New Year's Eve. The location is perfect for exploring central Bangkok near the Chao Phraya. Notable sights like the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaeo, Wat Pho, and Khao San road are within easy walking distance. And places like Wat Arun, Chinatown, and the Jim Thompson House are an easy boat or taxi/Grab ride away. The included breakfast was excellent. We particularly enjoyed our time spent talking with Bop each morning during breakfast; he would ask about our plans for the day and give us tips on how best to execute them (e.g., navigating Bangkok's multitude of transportation choices), as well as recommendations on other options. For example, at his recommendation we visited a floating market in Thonburi that was not in our guidebook -- and which turned out to be one of the highlights of our time in Bangkok. The rooms are simple, but comfortable. We booked two rooms for our family of four (two adults, a middle schooler, and a high schooler). The leafy courtyard where breakfast is served is a delightful oasis and it's hard to believe you're in the middle of this massive city. Part of the inn's appeal is that it's situated smack in the middle of the neighborhood. Note that this means you'll have to carry your bags a short distance down the narrow soi (alley/lane) from the nearest road where a taxi will be able to drop you off. We wholeheartedly recommend Innspire! …
We spent 4 nights at InnSpire and really enjoyed the experience and our time there. Our room was small and pretty utilitarian, but the a/c worked and the shower was hot. The breakfast each morning was great, we had to ask to split one as we could not eat all the food. Great fresh fruit, toast, eggs or pancakes, coffee, tea, and very tasty fresh banana muffins. The location is in the middle of a local neighborhood, but walking-close to many things, and if you want real street food, they are cooking it over charcoal on the tiny bridges crossing the canal, which runs right in front of the inn. They provided earplugs for Saturday night music nearby and the lovely but loud birds in the morning. Probably the best asset of InnSpire is Bob, who was our host. He was very knowledgeable and helpful, even walking out with us to be sure the Grab car picked us up to get to the bus station for Sukhothai. If you want the Westin, this is not your spot, if you want to be in the middle of things and soak up real Bangkok a little better, look no further. A note on finding it the first time - it is on a small canal with walkways on both sides, and most taxis cannot find it, since it is not on a street. The closest easy landmark is the 14 October Memorial, it is about 200 m from there walking, or the famous Krua Apsorn restaurant, about 2 blocks away. Google Maps found it for us on foot, though. Innspire /Bob sends instructions prior to your stay for you and the taxi driver to find it.…
We had arranged a taxi to pick us up at the airport through Innspire as we were arriving into BKK at about midnight. The transfer was fine and dropped us off at the end of the road, where Bob was there to meet us at 0130ish. This was very good of him, as I don't think we would have found the place otherwise. Bob quickly showed us to the room so we could shower and sleep ready for our first day in Bangkok. The room was fine for us. Firm bed, some hooks to hang some clothes etc... The bathroom had a decent shower in it. The size wasn't great, but as we were using it as a base to sleep and store our luggage, this didn't matter to us. Breakfast in the courtyard was served between 8am - 10am where Bob gave us a little welcoming talk about where to get sim card from, scams to watch out for, places we could visit, how to get there etc... As this was our first time in Bangkok, it was very helpful to us. He also came to help us at the 7/11 when the sim card we bought from there didn't work. Breakfast was bowl of chopped mixed fruit, freshly baked banana muffins and a choice of banana pancake or fried / scrambled eggs on toast. It was very delicious! The courtyard was a great little shady place to relax in whilst planning our days in Bangkok and also to meet other people staying there. We really enjoyed our 3 days/ 4 nights stay at Innspire and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a very friendly, no frills hub to explore Bangkok.…
