Yeah you heard it right! Despite of the good location of the guest house and a nice lobby, the room that we stayed was infested with bedbugs! We realized until the day after when my girlfriend had so many bites that we couldn't count! We told the staff but they didn't did anything! It's a shame make sure you don't... More

We only experienced really helpful staff with all we needed. If choosing a superior room with 2 beds, get a room on the 3rd floor instead of 1st floor - the rooms are nicer. Breakfast are really good. There is service office at the hotel arrangering all kinds of tours all over Asia.

My husband and I were looking for a cheap, comfortable guesthouse away from all the glitz and glam in Bangkok. We didn;t know much about the city, but found the location to be quite nice, close to the riverboats for travel up to sightseeing and more in the heart of the local, riverside community. The staff was very helpful and... More

My husband and I came to Bangkok with no plans of what to do. The hostel has a nightly informational meeting where they tell you about excursion options in Bangkok, around Thailand, and also in neighboring countries. They can set up anything from a bike tour around Bangkok to an 11 day trek through the jungle. Someone from the staff... More

We've stayed on this place twice; first for three nigts and then for one. We decided to stay here because it's one of the cheapest options available in Bangkok. However, it's quite run down and it is far from being the cleanest. Pros: -Convenient location, walking distance from street food, restaurants, 7 eleven, shopping mall, pharmacy etc. -One of the... I am a Sri Lankan who, together with my mother and some aunts, stayed at this hotel in May 2015. Even though it is not situated in the City Centre area, it is only 10 minute distance to the BTS/ Sky train station Saphan Taksin and Boat station Sathon/Central Pier. Facilities are really satisfactory for a 3 star level. Friendly... More

My friend and I stayed here after landing in Bangkok. It's fairly clean and cheap enough that you get what you pay for but the fan rooms are SO hot and the location isn't great if you are backpacking and want to be in the Khao San road area (albeit it did only cost 80 baht and half an hour... New Road Guest House is set down a little alley just off Charoen Krung Road (New Road) and is a short walk from Silom Road and all the shops, restaurants and bars in that area, so it's well situated. The guest house itself is popular with young backpackers so if you find them irritating, this place is not for you.... More

Had a very enjoyable stay of 3 nights. Travelling alone this was a brilliant place to meet people. Majority of travellers were Scandanavian but all very friendly. Staff are helpful and there is on site activities booking area to help you find things. Location is a little away from centre of Bangkok but easily reached by taxi or tuk tuk.... More

Staying in Silom

Neighborhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
