Every weekend, thousands of tourists make their way up to this Northern Bangkok suburb to get lost in an enormous maze of shops at the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Home to almost 10,000 vendors, you’ll find everything from vintage sneakers to comic books and Thai handicrafts being sold here. You name it, Chatuchack probably sells it. The market is a great place to pick up souvenirs, but be sure to bargain for a good price. After a day of shopping and strolling around, the lush green lanes of Chatuchak Park are a welcome relief.

We unexpectadly had to stay an extra night in Bangkok and a travel advisor suggested this place. It was resonably cheap but it's not even worth what we paid. The foyer area was lovely marble and gave us false hopes. The room was big but had nothing except the bed and a TV in it.

My husband and I stayed at Tong Poon for 1 night at an exorbitant price. The room was damp and smelly. The headboard for the bed was dirty and the walls were dirty and cracked. The breakfast room was ok but the options were limited. We do not recommend staying here.
