Lancaster Bangkok earns high marks for its strategic location near key transport links and attractions, though it's a bit off the beaten path for some. The hotel is consistently commended for its cleanliness and well-kept facilities. Guests enjoy spacious, modern rooms with a nod to comfort, albeit with some remarks about outdated decor.
The hotel's value is apparent, offering affordable luxury that doesn't skimp on amenities like a spa, gym, and rooftop pool. Service at Lancaster Bangkok stands out, with staff members providing professional and helpful attention, despite rare communication issues.

This is a very good hotel, modern, clean and very comfortable. We stayed in a suite with complimentary club lounge access (special offer), and were well looked after by the gracious Tarn, eager & professional Lars and fed by the talented Pui (sampled every tasty item on the menu at least 3 times!). I recommend even paying the additional fee to have this luxury. Every one of my party had nothing but praise for this team who cosseted us.
The suite (17th floor) itself is furnished to a high standard, bedroom, bathroom and separate lounge befitting for this class of hotel. The hotel is very stylish, and decorated well. The staff (from front of desk, catering, room service) cannot be faulted, everything came with the legendary Thai smile and greeting. We were made to feel very welcomed. The gym and pool are of a good size, and we also used the spa (another review, but suffice to say it was a gorgeous experience))
The location is very good, only a few minutes from the Phetchaburi MTR/Airport express station. With the free shuttle service, getting to this fantastic hotel is a breeze.
Would I stay here again, absolutely.

I would like to leave my positive review after staying at this new hotel for two nights. We have chosen a club room as we could use the lounge where drinks and some good tapas food are complimentary. The room and the bathroom are spacious with plenty of space. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast has several good food choices. Staff are amazing and very helpful. Good outdoor swimming pool and gym. Location isn't very central but is only 5 minutes walk from the metro station where would take you 20 minutes to get to main city attractions. Within 10 minutes walk, you have as well the train station that connects you directly to the aitport in 30 minutes.

We were greeted warmly by Mr J in spite of arriving 3:30 dawn on our check in and personally showed us our nice and large family room with 2 separate Water closets (which is helpful for a family travelers) at the 15th floor. Nice rain shower and large lavatory counter. We are amazed by the lobby’s very high ceiling or sky roof glass which is around 18 floor high. Room Towels are really large. Stunned by the abundant supply of bottled water in our room not to mention the daily supply of apples during our 4 night stay. Restaurant are really nice and run by hardworking men and women where a special request of hot milk is happily given to me. Gym, pool with jacuzzi , spa and bar are strategically and conveniently located on same area on the 12th floor. Don’t miss their pool and jacuzzi overlooking the city. Their free Shuttle service is very helpful in going to train station which is just 5 minute walk away.
Hotel is new (around 2 year old), aesthetically designed, well maintained and run by professionals. Most of all not crowded.
Thanks to Jay at the counter and the woman who serviced our room daily.
Highly recommended for couple, friends and family travelers.

We stayed at The Lancaster in Bangkok at the end of Jan 2020 for 6 nights. Overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely visit again.
location: The hotel is situated about 3 mins from an underground station which took us to all the places we wanted to visit. All main tourist attractions are within 15-20 mins on the public transport system. The hotel does not have many restaurants around, there is a seven eleven across the road. The hotel is super easy to reach from the main airport by taxi or by public transport.
The amenities: We loved the hotel’s amenities. There is an amazing pool on the top floor, looking out over Bangkok. You can order drinks and snacks from the bar at the pool. There is also a great spa on the top floor and another bar on the ground floor. The pool was very quiet while we were there. There is also a gym but we did not use this.
The room: We were with 4 people and had one suite and one normal room. We were shocked at how big the normal room was, big bathroom and a lot of open floorspace. The suite was great too, massive marble bathroom, big living space and comfy bedroom with big bed. Both rooms have a minibar. Both rooms were very clean and looked really new and modern too. Everything in the room (including ordering room service) is controlled via an Ipad.
Breakfast: The breakfast was amazing. Massive amount of options and all fresh and hot. There were continental options such as pastries, jams, pancakes and bread, full english with beans, different sausages and potatoes as well as asian options like noodles, rice and stir fried veg.
Staff: Staff was super friendly and helpful. As it was my birthday upon arrival, staff had laid out a small birthday cake and card, very thoughtful.
Room service/food: The room service was quick and the food was of high quality. The only thing that could be improved upon was the amount of vegetarian options. This was somewhat limited but the options that were available were very tasty.
All in all, we had an amazing stay at the lancaster and would definitely stay again

Very nice hotel. The room is spacious and modern. The rooftop pool is beautiful. They have a good gym, locker and bath amenities. But the most outstanding charm of this hotel is the staffs. They are so kind and friendly. When we arrived at the first day, they served us very delicious cold juice meanwhile they were preparing our room. Since the guy of front desk saw us enjoying the drink so much, he brought us another glass for each one. Nice touch! The day we had to check out, our flight was very late in the night. They offered us to use their gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, shower room and locker without any charge. After sweating in hot Bangkok, that was such a big bonus.

The whole concept of 15 nights stuck alone in a hotel room was brutal just to think about. But business can only be stalled so long and the option of further delaying the trip to Thailand was now long past. I searched the internet for ASQ options. As I had waited until virtually the last minute to book an ASQ hotel, the choices appeared limited. I came across an ad for the Lancaster, a five star property in central Bangkok. They had a suite available which would give me more space, a separate area to work and an environment that should offer less confinement than your typical hotel room. The price as reasonable considering it included 3 meals daily, the covid tests and all that goes along with a Thai quarantine.
With some trepidation, as I had never been to or seen the Lancaster in my several trips to Bangkok, I booked my stay. Upon my midnight arrival at the airport, the driver from the Lancaster was there waiting for me. After a quick trip into the city, the staff at the hotel quickly completed the paperwork and I was escorted to my room. The suite was spacious and reasonably well furnished considering the limitations placed on the property by government regulations.
The hotel itself, (or what I saw of it) was quite luxurious, but what made the stay bearable was the staff. Both the hotel staff and the staff from Piyavate Hospital were pleasant, efficient and did their utmost to make the experience as comfortable as possible. The food was more than adequate with a wide variety of choices and room service options were available if the set menu didn't suit your palate. I think I only ordered from room service twice during the 15 night stay.
Work kept me busy through the day and the multiple time zones my company operates in made those days long enough that time past rather quickly.
All in all, it wasn't as bad an experience as I had feared. I would recommend the hotel to any who make the trek to Bangkok during these Covid times. The shortened quarantine after April 1, will make things even better.
Only two slight criticisms. A different menu the second week would have been nice and a better selection of TV stations would have helped pass the time. I moved to the Marriott after my ASQ and enjoyed six English language TV stations, including a selection of movie channels. The Lancaster had only two English news channels which didn't provide much entertainment option. Thank heavens for internet streaming.
Notwithstanding these two suggestions, the hotel and staff get 5 stars from me!

Dear W Scott B, Thank you for sharing feedback of your ASQ stay at Lancaster Bangkok. I’m glad to read that we exceeded your expectations. We understand that the ASQ program isn’t the ideal way to return to Thailand, we do all we can to make it as comfortable as possible. We appreciate your generous feedback about the menu selection and more variety of English TV programs – we reduced our TV stations as the majority of guests like to stream their own devices directly to the TV, however if you let us know we can add whatever you are missing. We look forward to welcoming you back to Lancaster Bangkok again soon. Best wishes, Martin Hurley General Manager Lancaster Bangkok

We were booked for 5 nights into a Premium Apartment Room 522 courtesy of our Medical Insurance Cover after my partner had a Heart Attack and we were recuperating after his operation.
We were taken personally by the Receptionist who showed us to our room. As soon as we opened the door it was the wow factor. A living Room, Kitchen, bedroom including a huge jacuzzi. Two toilets, Rain Shower. Walk in wardrobe Two large flat screen Televisions. Breakfast was included which was very good. We were also granted access to the Lancaster Club on the 18th Floor for Free non Alcoholic Drinks and food was supplied between 2-4pm.
The Swimming Pool was amazing with a great view of Bangkok. There was also a Jacuzzi. The Pool was a little cold in January even though it was 33 degrees. Unfortunately the pool is mostly in the shade during the day but it didn’t put us off.
The Staff were outstanding and Concierge gave us a map of Bangkok and a Business Card with the address of the Hotel in Thai suitable for Taxi Drivers.
If you want to go shopping you can walk to the Metro Station 5 mins from the Hotel. Very cheap way to get round Bangkok
Also across the road 5 mins walk you can catch a canal boat 11 baht each to Platinum Mall and the night Market. The Canal Boat stops at 7.30pm.
We stayed at 3 different hotels close by as we had to be near to the Hospital. This Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. First Class

Our 15 nights ASQ stay in Lancaster Bangkok was an excellent experience. Staying even more nights wouldn't be a problem at all. We stayed in premium suite 95sqm on the 10th floor. The room was spacious with a charming design. Very comfortable bed, 2 big screens and big jacuzzi just a few steps from the bed. LED lighting all around the apartment creates a delightful atmosphere. Frontdesk and room service was really unique! We got everything we needed extremely fast, doesn't matter if it was in the morning or middle of the night. They communicated on WhatsApp and replied within a minute. I haven't seen such a fast and helpful hotel service. It's difficult for me to tell about the food since we are gluten-free vegans and they didn't have a vegan option (only vegetarian with eggs and pasta which we don't eat). However, we were making regular orders of fruits and vegetables which they delivered with no problem and I can tell we are very demanding. Just after leaving the hotel on the last day, we understood how difficult it must have been for them to get all the foods which we demanded. They had to buy it in more shops quite far away from the hotel. They even ordered us gluten-free bread (including banana bread) from a special bakery. Last but not least the cleanliness of the room was amazing. I was checking each corner, even places like under the bed or behind the screens - they were all without any dirt and dust. I couldn't find even one grain of the dust, which made me feel very comfortable. If you are deciding about ASQ hotel, this is the best choice! We will do it again if needed. Thank you Lancaster Bangkok for taking care of us!!!

Review of ASQ stay at the Lancaster Hotel. I stayed here for 2 weeks for the government-mandated Covid quarantine for those who return to Thailand.
This hotel makes being locked in prison 2 weeks much easier.
The main takeaway is that they were very responsive anytime I had issues (I used LINE app for communication). They answer within seconds usually and sort out any problems you have. They are trying hard. The staff was always helpful and courteous.
The food was top notch. Tasty, good variety (Thai or Western, you can mix and match) and any substitutions I asked for were never a problem. Answers to any request I made were always an easy “yes”. For example I had the deserts replaced with fresh fruits everyday. The Italian chef even personally called twice for feedback and was very receptive.
Guests are also treated to a “final meal” on the last quarantine night- a fancy dinner rolled in via room service.
The outside recreation areas are not great.. no fault of the hotel but they don’t have a serene environment here so you’ll be chilling out on a high terrace (good view) or down at street level. That said the street level area is big enough to jog and exercise, which helps.
The room itself is nice, bed very comfortable. The bathrooms are superb with a rain shower so good you’ll want to stay in there for hours.
There is no openable window or balcony in regular rooms (I think they do in a few Deluxe rooms), but the window is very large so you get to see the outside world everyday which helps with sanity.
The rooms are large enough to do your exercise routine on the floor with plenty of extra space. A nice touch was that they brought me a 20KG kettle bell + yoga mat which was appreciated and made my stay much easier.
On another occasion, the GM moved mountains for me and had a Nespresso machine delivered to my room so I could enjoy real coffee (I cannot handle instant!). It was a nice touch.
All in all a good experience despite the bad circumstances. I’ll stay at the Lancaster again when my partner & I return to back to Bangkok.

My wife and I have just completed our ASQ Hotel quarantine in Bangkok at the Lancaster Hotel ASQ. Even though losing your freedom to move around for 15 days is obviously a difficult experience, I have to say that the Lancaster Hotel made it as best as it could be considering the situation. The General Manager and his Team are all delightful and they are very happy to help with any request at any time. In respect of the food choices you can get western, Thai or vegetarian options and there is a different menu every day of the week. The food arrives hot and I have to say it’s very tasty considering that it is obligatory in quarantine to serve the food in plastic and cardboard containers. I would recommend the Thai food as the tastiest option. There is plenty of food and I’m sure nobody ever goes hungry. But in case you need something extra they have 24-hour room service which is prompt and not expensive and delicious. The hotel has three separate relaxation areas which you can go to each day for just under an hour after your first negative COVID-19 test. For an ASQ it’s good value and I can definitely recommend Lancaster to anyone planning to do Hotel quarantine in Bangkok.

Unfortunately, not large enough for 2 laptops, unless your laptops are the mini types.
Banks are not the best option to exchange money. Superrich is not there, but there is by Asok (1 Metro station away from Petchaburi station, which is 5 minutes walk from Lancaster).
Hello there, we did not quarantine at Lancaster neither did we encounter anyone else under quarantine at the Hotel while we were there. It seems restrictions were lifted when we booked. Good value for your money, in my opinion. Hope that helps?
W Scott B answered perfectly, and I would add that it is a short walk to the MRT (subway) which is an excellent way to get around Bangkok.
