Overall you get what you pay for. This is a budget hotel and you will get a budget experience. The staff is very friendly but if you need a taxi we recommend going down 15 minutes early because it will take some time for them to get a taxi willing to take you most places in the city. The room was decently clean however we found several insects in the room…we suspect they came in through the vent in the bathroom but we would find at least one a day. The room service is very hit or miss. When it is available the Green Curry is excellent. We called on a few occasions during regular business hours and were told the restaurant was closed…after calling the front desk they restaurant would magically be open. We also had multiple issues on pricing we would be charged verses prices on the menu. Very frustrating. Overall the experience wasn’t bad but it we wouldn’t say it was good either. Just average.…

We stayed here for two months. If you want to explore Thailand don't stay on Sukhumvit stay here in the suburbs with the people of Thailand, transportation is easy, just hop on the Klong boat across the street. The room is just as we wanted, hot shower with plenty of water pressure. The beds and linens are clean and and comfortable, 5 STAR. The staff at Pantip our fantastic! I stayed for three nights. I actually live in Bangkok but wanted to see the area the hotel was in. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was quiet but there were only five people staying on my floor. The room was large. Bed and pillows were comfortable. But the impression I got was the hotel was not maintained very well. In the room and public areas there was quite a bit of chipped and peeling paint. The sheets had small holes in them. Parts of the grout in the bathroom was black. But the room was kept generally clean. I did eat breakfast at the hotel. . It was good. The hotel has a restaurant. But It appears the only restaurants within walking distance are at the Bangkapi Mall. But for the price it is a good hotel.

The location of this hotel is not ideal, at least for now. Even though it seems to be conveniently close to the airport (just a little north of Hua Mak station of Airport Rail Link line), this little, no matter by bus or by taxi, will take you at least 20-30 minutes, depending on the traffic. The main reason for that are the massive road construction works going on in the area, which, when finished, will probably change the situation a lot for better. But other than that the hotel is quite OK. Located in a shopping center, it looks and feels quite well. Rooms are spacious and clean, service is good, beds are comfortable, the area is not unpleasant, there is a brand new huge shopping mall just 10 minutes away and a big food market just on the streets, surrounding the hotel.

I left another hotel after some serious issues. On arrival at The Pantip, I was made to feel welcome. The reception was warm and friendly. I have been here a week now and I can honestly say that my experience here has been unsurpassed. The staff are the best in the business, not only are they incredibly professional, but warm and inviting. There is absolutely nothing that I can say wrong about this property. To the management I would like to say, look after your staff, they are by far your most valuable asset.
