I stayed here two separate times during my most recent trip to Thailand. I stayed for 3 nights when I arrived and the last night before I flew back to the United States. Upon arrival, I stayed in one of the suites and had the single bedroom. My window faced the river and the view was gorgeous. I loved it! The room also had a full sized fridge and a kitchen sink. I stayed in a deluxe room for the last night before leaving. This view was not very good - just some of the neighboring buildings. But, the room was still comfortable. Very good air conditioning. Personally, I don't think you can beat the location of this place. Walking distance to the National Stadium train station which is so helpful, considering taxi rides can take quite a while with the traffic in Bangkok. There are also many shopping malls also in walking distance including MBK and Siam Paragon. There are at least two 7/11s in walking distance and street food on the road leading to the hotel. It is tucked away at the end of the street, which might make it hard for taxis to find, but I never had any issues. Also, taxi drivers are definitely familiar with MBK, so you can just ask them to drop you off there and then you can walk back to the hotel if the need arises. Important to note: this place is CASH ONLY and there was a 500 baht key deposit. The key deposit can be annoying, but I found it almost helpful for the last night before we left. I was able to spend my remaining baht on the last day knowing I would have enough for the taxi to the airport once I received the deposit back.…
Sadly, this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at from A-Z. First problem started at the front desk upon check in (we had to store luggage earlier in the day). The property is a cash only property, in the heart of Bangkok for a property of this size invest in a credit card machine. It's not too hard nor expensive. I was asked to leave my passport as collateral (not thrilled to do that) and was told that there is a 500 Baht key deposit. How do you put down a 500 baht key deposit if you are paying cash at check out, I expect a minimal amount of intelligence from a front desk agent...The room is quite large which is the only positive aspect. The rooms have absolutely NO soundproofing. I was close to a train track and heard them go by all the time, from the hotel itself there were children playing in the hallway (I think) at 1:00 am. Then at 7:30 am Housekeeping arrives and makes a ton of noise and has their walkie talkies blasting. When I woke up from the horrible night sleep, if you can call it sleep, I was incredibly sore. The mattress is so hard that I believe they use a box spring and not an actual mattress. This place must receive positive reviews solely on the fact that the rooms are spacious. Beyond that I can not see anything positive in this place and can't wait to leave.…
I stayed in the Superior Suite for my family of 4 adults for a total of 5 nights. Location wise, Patumwan House is strategically placed nearby the BTS Station and malls like MBK mall, Siam Discovery, Siam Centre and Siam Paragon. They are literally 5mins walk away. As traffic is usually heavy in Bangkok especially in the evening, staying close to the BTS Stations definitely saves a lot of time and gives convenience to go around the city. So is the 7Eleven, just at the main junction in. In the alley towards this accomodation are 2 little restaurants. Just next door to the hotel is an art gallery cum cafe. Very convenient if you need your daily dose of caffeine. The suite we had was sufficient, space wise. The beddings are clean and toiletries are topped up daily. So are the drinking water, coffee and tea sachets and Oreo cookies for snacking. If only microwave is allowed in this building, it'll be a more complete stay. Yes there was a certain smell as we enter the room but it wasn't too disturbing. Most importantly the place is kept clean and the hotel surrounding is peaceful.…
Had a fantastic week in Bangkok! We got the recommendation to stay in Patumwan House from our friend who told us good good review and tips to an easy tour. The room was incredibly spacious, clean and convenient. We got service daily, thanks to our housekeeper for keeping it clean! Reception was very helpful during our check in and check out and staffs were very much accommodating. The hotel has a parking lot and a clean smoking area. The hotel is located 10mins walking distance from big shopping malls, easy access to a booking place for tours around Bangkok, a nearby laundry place. For transportation, we recommend to take grab since tuktuk is somehow expensive, however we took 1 ride to experience and it was fast and fun. To go around places, we highly recommend to use grab to save money, no need to wait long time to be picked up. In short, we had a perfect first time visit to Bangkok! Thank you for the Patumwan House staffs for looking after us! …
As the name suggests - it is a house in a room. The room is spacious but feels like a house and not a well-maintained hotel room. The good - Although the house/hotel is located a bit on the inside, it is at walking distance from their metro - BTS and various 7 elevens. The bad - There was a kitchen sink inside the room! No balconies though, no light came in in the mornings, no safe to keep important documents and money. If you want laundry done you need to go to the reception. If you want your food heated, you need to go down. The rulebook says that no noise must be made between 10pm-8am. It's totally a house. Even the housekeeping or the staff didn't accompany us till the room. We carried our own bags and were given a key (literally a key). Rulebook says - can't wash clothes and hang in balcony etc. Can't bring food that smells (as if.) The ugly - It had a rulebook as to how much we have to pay if we take toilet roll, towels, linens etc with us! The male receptionist was very rude. Every time we called at night (twice) for water or for housekeeping, the guy replied rudely and asked us to come get water 5 floors down (lift was slow) even though we were paying for it. The only relief was that we were here for 1.5 days in Bangkok and were all consumed in shopping.…
