"Maderla" means something like "come on and let's enjoy together". Maderla is a modern, funky guesthouse with six colorful rooms renovated and managed by a Khun Anchalee and her Isaan (Northeast region of Thailand) folks, from Khon Kaen province. Each room is decorated by the influence of Issan culture and a touch of German (as Khun Anchalee's husband is from Germany). The rooms are named according to the popular provinces in Isaan with the aim to introduce our guest to our region where we came from. The Northeast region of Thailand is usually known as stretches from the wild Mekong River (Mae Nam Khong in Thai), and is home to Thailand's best national parks and most ancient temple ruins. Rich in religious significance and influenced by nearby Cambodia and Laos, it has a culture and food all its own. has 2 small, 2 mediums size, and 2 large rooms. Each room has double-glass noise reducing windows, a flat-screen TV, a fridge, and a music system. All rooms have one double bed and a private bathroom equipped with a bathtub or a rain shower. At the ground floor there is the Maderla Thai restaurant with a casual and relaxing atmosphere. In walking distance you will find a craft beer bar, local and international restaurants, several Thai Massage places, and dry cleaning services.

Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.

After searching and looking I found this little guesthouse/restaurant/bar. Must I admit that this is heaven in a city like Bangkok. These people are helpfull in any way, like joining me and giving their phone account to get me a sim... the ros are bi, very arty and so quiet, i felt so good after a busy day. The food is the best with very reasonable cheap prices. And the bar, small, lots of local people but just great. I saw a review about someone complaining he could not sleep due to the bar ???? Sorry but you’re on holiday or working or both like me but it didn’t bother me at all and thats what makes this place unique, the atmosphere, kindness.. and believe me I am a light sleeper and I didn’t hear a thing... you know some people write reviews out of jelousy cause they were not invited.... come down and have a drink. Enjoy life every minute... thank you MADERLA, Love you all....

We arrived at Maderla's aroynd 8 pm, with no booking a looking for a room for 4 nights. The room was affordable (cheaper than other hotels in the same street) and great. Great deco, great shower! The staff was also lovely, very comprehensive and always smiling. It was a real plasure meeting them. The restaurant and bar were also perfect, with delicious pad thais and good music. Everything was great, thanks again!

Excellent design and very decent space. Could've been better if construction notice is written in booking.com website coz it was a surprise when I saw the notice in the room. Also, would need to check on the blanket as there are some stains on it.

I love this hotel. The room was really stylish and decorated in a funky style. The shower was huge with glitzy mosaic tiles in gold and blue on every durface and the shower even had disco lighting! It's a small really friendly hotel with great staff and a restaurant and bar at street level. I stayed here on my own and never felt lonely as the staff would happily chat to me in the bar and restaurant. And amazing value for the room. I will definitely stay here again!
