Elegant hotel located in the busy district of Bangkok. Small street with a lot of traffic leading to many shopping malls, Korean and Japanese town. 24 hours convenient store is just a short walk away. Small lobby decorated in a warm and welcoming atmosphere with paintings and sculpture everywhere. Brown wooden panel contrasting with marble floor and matching furniture setting the beautiful tone, even more so in the evening. Ayutthaya suite on 25th floor is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The layout is unique but well functioning. Suite is equipped with standard amenities for small luxury hotel, tv and sound system are fabulous for entertainment. Daybed and balcony set up is definitely the most romantic in the evening given better weather than the hot and humid summer of Bangkok now. Wine chiller and cocktails mixer really add a nice touch to the mini bar. Bed and pillows are comfortable, bedsheet is a bit tired which is the same as towels in bathroom. Make sure to check them as some are not so clean. Rain shower with pretty good water pressure, big round bathtub, BYO bubble for relaxing or enjoyable time. Rooftop swimming pool is a must visit for either morning coffee, a swim or romantic moment at night. It is very picturesque and hold a stunning view on the clear sky day and night light of Bangkok. Spa on 28th floor is really relaxing and professional. Recommended for an evening session when the sun is down to enjoy the view and clam setting. Therapist is polite and well trained to give you the relaxing massage experience and best value for money. Hotel staffs are all professionals, friendly and helpful. They take time to remember guest name and detail of stay, a fine detail which make the experience memorable. Definitely a premium service beyond expectation. Breakfast at Bangkok Trading Post was not bad but the restaurant is super busy on Sunday morning. So be patient or order breakfast in room. Food taste ok, small portion and sad setting for complimentary BF but the paid menu look delicious and much more inviting. Recommend to get separated BF from room for better food. Sadly my stay was too short to enjoy all the facilities and the rooftop pool had already occupied most of my free time. Note - suite is not sound proof so brace yourself for the sound of anything happen in the hallway, next door, or loud traffic. Unlucky me as there was a wedding party going on next door and it was loud. Fortunately, late check out was possible so a little nap was helpful after sleepless night. Deposit of THB 5000 (for 1 night) is required upon check in.

Last time I stayed at 137 Pillars Bangkok was before covid and quite a bit has changed since then. Unfortunately service levels have been cut back, the breakfast which used to be the best in the city has been downgraded, and with the opening of several new luxury options in Bangkok such as Rosewood, Capella, and Four Seasons, the competition has increased. Several changes are going in the wrong direction for 137P and while this hotel still has some great features like the roof top pool, it is becoming a less attractive option than in the past. Our room was pretty much the same as before and nothing notable had changed. We had a couple of nice welcome surprises in the room to celebrate a special occasion which was definitely a nice touch and highly appreciated. Breakfast used to be absolutely fantastic at 137P but now the Baan Borneo Club is temporarily closed for renovations so we had the choice of having breakfast on the ground floor at the Bangkok Trading Post restaurant or as in-room dining. The menu no longer had luxury options such as steak & eggs, crab omelets, seafood salad, or sushi. The free-flow sparkling wine is also a thing of the past unfortunately. The current a la carte menu is not bad, but I can no longer claim that 137P is the best breakfast in Bangkok, in fact based on our stay at Park Hyatt a couple weeks ago that one clearly beats 137P, as do some others such as Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, Capella, Sukhothai, Waldorf Astoria, etc. When 137P informed me about the closure of the Club and that happy hour would be served at the swimming pool on the 27th floor, I expressed my concern about the venue which is shared with guests of the residences, therefore not as private as what the Club used to be. As an alternative they suggested happy hour near the roof top pool on the 35th floor which is for guests of the suites only. It turned out to be a completely private happy hour in a great venue overlooking the city, a perfect peace haven for social distancing despite our stay overlapping the weekend when hotels tend to be busier at the moment. Our butler came by regularly for refills or we could just call using the phone near the pool because there was no other staff (or guests) on the roof. The swimming pool is still open 24 hours per day and one of the strong points of the hotel. I went there on three different afternoons and twice I was all alone so it beats having a private plunge pool at Capella, Rosewood, or Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. Service is very good at this hotel, that said, I noticed some cutbacks. First off they no longer provide the mobile phone with internet and direct chat access with the butler which I personally do not need but I am sure it was useful for some guests. Also not having the Club open limited the interaction with the butler and our breakfast was served by different staff on different mornings which also reduced the personal aspect. On Saturday evening we came back to the hotel at 7:30pm and there was no door man - not a big deal, but I do not recall other ultra-luxury hotels in Bangkok having the front door unmanned and it never happened at 137P in the past. Also some of the breakfast orders were bungled for example salmon was supposed to come with rice but they forgot, and they also brought noodle soup without condiments which is normally not a miscue that hotels in Thailand make. All of these are admittedly minor issues but 137P’s competitors set the bar quite high so some missteps stand out. In conclusion, I booked at 137P for a stay during the weekend specifically to avoid the large crowds at some other 5-star hotels which have staycation promotions and my objective was met with flying colors with the in-room breakfast, the fantastic private happy hour, and the pool which was almost entirely for our personal use only. However some cutbacks were a bit disappointing and with the increase in new hotel openings which will compete for travellers’ attention, I am not sure things are looking up for 137P.

Came here to enjoy the drinks and dinner at 137's rooftop pool bar and the experience did not disappoint with the marvelous views and the quiet ambiance - something I personally enjoy after a busy day. Although my companion did comment on the place being a "little too peaceful" since there were no music being played earlier in the evening; but they did get the music playing a bit later on. The food was good, although most of the orders were salad and the krapao chicken. The highlight I must say, is the ultra peaceful ambiance of the place, however I don't think it's intended this way due to few visitors that night. Overall, a very nice place to enjoy amazing views - almost 360 - of Bangkok skyline whilst enjoying drinks in utmost peace [at least in this COVID period]. I want to note that I enjoyed the service here, but I felt the staff needed several repeats on each items being ordered so perhaps more training needed there. Otherwise the experience was great and hopefully I'd revisit :)

Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of the best services i’ve ever receive, the staff were very courteous and the butler service was beyond expectation - whatever you need they will get it done for you! The rooms were exceptional, from the super soft and comfy bed with sheets that feels like heaven to the amazing marble bathroom and spacious living area. Location wise, this hotel is perfect with walkable distance to many casual and up scale restaurant, a stone throw away from department malls and sky train! The hotel restaurant is also superb, with a range of thai and international cuisine classic from burgers , shawarmas and hummus dips! The baked good are also house made and there are plenty of vegan options that are so well seasoned that it would fool non vegan too. Last but not least, do not miss the pool and bar on 27th floor, or better yet, the rooftop one (there are two pools). The view of the city skyline is simply amazing and if you’re on instagram, there’s no way you cannot take a picture!

When we stayed at the 137 pillars in Bangkok, we paid for a suite, which included exclusive access to the rooftop pool, butler service, afternoon tea and and free drinks during happy hour. Even though this category is more expensive, it is definitely worth the splurge. Our two nights flew by and were pure luxury. Our highlights were the beautiful suites including the world class beds with sheets that felt like silk, the vast choice of breakfast a la carte and one of the most beautiful infinity pools in the world that was not crowded due to it being only accessible for suites guests.
