Good: We had a beautiful suite with a private garden and a jacuzzi and a sofa in the garden. The name is suite Taywet. The room and bathroom are beautiful, very spacious with a very stylish design. Everything was very clean. The bathroom has both bath and shower. The minibar has a few complementary drinks and snacks. The WIFI is perfect. The air conditioning is strong. The staff is friendly, helpful and they speak a perfect english.
Could be improved: the restaurant is beautiful but the breakfast food was basic and of average quality (dry pastries, very salty rice, but the dragon fruit was delicious). I was expecting more from such a good hotel. We did not try dinner nor room service so I cannot comment. They have taxis to the airport for 500 bhats (it takes 40-60 mins depending of the traffic). It was expensive but it is a high standard hotel, worth its price.

The location of this hotel is around 10 mins walk from the pier and a 5-10 minute ride in a Tuk Tuk which costs a couple of pound at most. It has a lovely peaceful setting so is suitable for families and older people.

The hotel staff are very helpful and can’t do enough for you, they often helped us with information about local attractions, places to eat, taxis everything else.

We only stayed on a B&B basis so I can’t comment on the restaurants lunch/dinner menu but the breakfast menu was lovely, actually I dare say it was the best I’ve had, there was enough to cater for fussy eaters like myself! I really enjoyed it, and because we left the hotel early to get the airport they offered to give us ‘breakfast on the move’ which I thought was a nice touch!

I had no issues with the cleanliness of the hotel, it was clean, the air conditioning worked very well but we didn’t have a dressing table in our room (or a window) but to be honest we didn’t spend a lot of time in our rooms so we didn’t really mind..

I would certainly recommend this place to people who want a quiet base so see the sights and experience Bangkok!

The only reason I didn’t give this hotel 5 stars is because the pool is very small but to be honest we didn’t use it anyway..

Quaint boutique hotel near the historic area of Bangkok (museums, Grand Palace etc). It is a very old, historic building so lacks some modern amenities (I.e. a lift/elevator) but it is a gorgeous old building, set in beautiful gardens, and I liked the location for ease of sightseeing by foot/taxi/tuk tuk.

My room (Governess Suite) was large and spacious, light and airy, with a modern bathroom and everything i needed for a short stay. More hanging space/hangers would be helpful. As others have commented, there is no western style wardrobe (as seen in the hotel pictures) but there were enough places to hang my clothes for a short, solo, stay. On a longer trip that would be irritating perhaps. The suite has a city/canal view and, as others have said, the street can be a tad noisy but it’s just traffic noise, people passing by, and is not a rowdy place - I could also hear the birds. I was woken at night not by the traffic noise but by the tremendous thunder and lightning storms and had a restful stay.

The breakfast was nice - small selection of fruit and salad, bread/toast/pastries, cereal, hot dishes and omelettes on request. The hot food was Thai and western (with a German/Dutch feel to the sausages etc). More than enough for me to choose from. Staff were helpful and attentive. The restaurant is clean, light and airy - I have reviewed dinner separately.

Final comment on the Imperial Spa. It’s LOVELY! Very traditional Thai. The staff were so friendly. The therapist I saw, Pia, was great. So good in fact that after my massage on Saturday I booked a foot massage on the Sunday! Highly recommend for weary sightseer’s feet.

I have give. The hotel three stars because it was nice and a pleasant stay in a good location. It doesn’t have all of the mod cons a traveller might expect or a luxury vibe (hence no 5 stars) but it was perfect for a long weekend of culture in Bangkok.

Special mention to the gentleman on reception who sorted my airport taxi and discussed temple attire with me. Also the Porter who went out in all weather to hail taxis for the hotel guests. Great service.

The grounds for this hotel are beautiful with a nice garden and small pool area. The food is excellent in the dining room and the front desk staff are very kind and helpful. However this is one of the noisiest hotels I have ever stayed in. We were above the dining room we could hear the hustle and bustle of the kitchen and dining room. And the walls are so thin you can hear the people next to you sneeze and when they move around their room your room shakes. There is also the loud noise from within and outside the grounds such as machines and motorcycles. Because it is a hotel there are inevitably people leaving for the airport at all hours of the night. We were woken up at 4 am one night and 1 am the other. You can hear everything in your room. While it is a beautiful hotel I would not recommend it if you want a decent nights sleep after traveling and sight seeing.

The garden and its pool are very nice. There are many birds and squirrels running in the trees. The deckchair beds are very tired and the mattresses not very clean. Bath towels available.
Our room 1301, located on the 3rd and last floor without elevator, classified Executive Mattanae, is spacious with a bed XXXL (twice 1.20 m wide). Excellent bedding. The floor is PVC parquet strips, the walls painted white. The room is very clean except for a small piece of wall that is damaged because of the air conditioner that condenses a little. The shower is very large and the bathroom is of correct and sufficient size. Bathrobe, disposable mules, flip-flops, various toiletries, courtesy tray, refrigerator, 2 bottles of water are available. Great TV but no program in French (while there are many French in the hotel). The room is located in a front wing on street. There is a view of the Khlong, but between the Khlong and the building there is the road. The 3 windows are not soundproofed at all. Can't sleep without Quiès balls. It is a shame to have a more expensive room so as not to close an eye for 2 nights. We tried to change rooms but the hotel was full because of 2 weddings. The intervention of the guide did not change anything. The journey started badly! Breakfast any and very ordinary. The room is beautifully decorated with large well-upholstered armchairs and cushions. A large number of armchairs are unfortunately stained. The products served are of poor quality with little choice. Too bad, we can not have lunch outside while the temperature is very pleasant at 8am. Very smiling, friendly and responsive staff.

We stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon. I booked it because on pictures it looked very beautiful and the price, although higher than other options, seemed reasonable. However f the 3 days we spent there were very disappointing…
The room we got had no natural light at all and the lighting inside was very poor. Made it feel cave-like

The breakfast had little variety and on 2 different occasions the options were left empty on the line for quite a while. We were there one morning for 40 minutes, and the whole time the egg tray stayed empty. Mind you it was earlier than 9AM, so not close to the end of breakfast

We booked a couples massage and they confirmed availability. Only to the day before our service get cancelled because lack of staff.

We used the gym one day and it so hot!!! Also the A/C there didn’t work and there wasn’t water available to drink either.

We are not fans of getting our room made everyday, but in the second day, we removed the “don’t disturbe” so the staff could make our room. We were gone all day, and when we back around 17-17:30 and we opened our room, we realised it was still undone.

Overall not terrible but not great. Also now that I have had the opportunity to stay at other hotels in and outside Bangkok, I can assure this hotel is way overpriced and there are other options. Won’t stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel and it provided a tranquil retreat from the bustle of Bangkok.

We had adjoining rooms and they were very clean and spacious with thoughtful touches like robes and umbrellas. The windows were very small so not much natural light but there were plenty of lights in the room so we didn't really mind.

The pool was absolutely lovely - not too cold and a lovely view over the grounds.

The selection at breakfast was small but everything was very tasty and well cooked so we never went hungry! There weren't many tables in the restaurant however so on some occasions we did have to eat at the tables in the garden which wasn't ideal.

The location was good and there are lots of lovely restaurants and coffee shops nearby (which is good because even for soft drinks the onsight restaurant was incredibly expensive!).

Only real complaint we had was that the airport transfer we requested to get us to the hotel never turned up so we had to get a taxi. Luckily this turned out to be cheaper and the staff were very apologetic about the mistake so it worked out fine, but I would recommend getting a taxi instead of a transfer if you are staying at this hotel.

All in all we had a great stay and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Some small areas could be improved like lowering prices in the main restaurant and expanding the size of the restaurant but it's a lovely place to stay and we would return.

We spent a lot of money on this hotel for our last night and it was really disappointing. We paid for the room with a private jacuzzi and private outdoor area. The jacuzzi was filthy, brown water and had not been cleaned meaning we couldn't use it and the furniture was so dirty and stained that it was off putting.

Linen was clean, however doors had filthy finger print marks, furniture had coffee stains and marks that hadn't been cleaned off. The room was quite noisey and staff had to out a towel in the doorway to stop rain leaking through.

The staff at reception weren't particularly helpful or professional either.

Alchohol isn't sold here, however they do let you bring your own in, including into the restaurant which for us, was fine and cheaper.

This place was such a gem to find! The staff were so kind and accommodating, and upgraded our room to one with a little outside space to sit. This was lovely, as we could work outside, but still in private! The bed was really comfortable, and we slept solidly. We had breakfast included, and when we arrived they mentioned that it was mainly meaty... but when we stated that one of us does not eat meat, they really went above and beyond! We had enough food to feed a whole family, and it was delicious! Fresh fruits, coffee, and juices, followed by stews, sweet fried dough balls (with condensed milk - these were WOW!). The whole experience was great. There is a 7-eleven and plenty of street vendors just down the road for food and snacks. We only stayed one night, but would definitely recommend this place.
