So the cost of building & furnishing this hotel is greater than the cost of building the landmark 101 Tower. The hotel emulates elegance & opulence, & it is located near the old financial district of Taipei. So it is popular with business community, &...More

The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, taking taxi is extremely convenient in Taiwan. Hotels staffs are extremely helpful. There is a 24 hours 7-eleven just 10 minutes walk away from the hotel and a few restaurants are tucked away in a residential neighborhood behind the hotel as well. Mandarin Oriental is an excellent place and I would highly recommend.
I've stayed at a few other hotels in Taipei, Home Hotel Xinyi and Hotel Quote (just a few blocks away from Mandarin Oriental). Both are really nice hotels with smaller rooms in a busier area. The level of attention from staff you will receive from Mandarin Oriental will surpass Home & Quote.
