Have stayed here before but it has gone downhill ...so never again...worst mistake of my life. It was horrible. I got so hot I was dripping with sweat and could not sleep at all. The rooms have no windows and they say the have aircon, but it works on a central aircon which only the manager can control for all... More

Firstly, this is not a guesthouse, it is a hostel dormitory. The rooms are tiny and the walls are very thin and so is the mattress so you will not get any sleep. Seriously, the walls are very thin. You can hear every sound in the room next door, You will find it impossible to sleep with the amount of... More

Rooms are very small, but I was comfortable. Tall people might find beds a little short. The owner Raoul is relaxed and very friendly. He speaks chinese, english and spanish. Bathrooms were always clean. We stayed there during the first week of our trip. You can wash your clothes in the back and hang them to dry. It might take... More

it's is a little old but is reasonably clean. towel, shower gel and shampoo are provided. host said air-con was "centralized system". however, it was very weak that cannot reach some of the rooms. I think the host knows it as every room has a small electric fan to help. room rate is considered cheap for Taipei city. location is... More

My room is so small, with 2 single beds just like doormitory. It is also old and tired looking. The bathroom & toilet is outside the room and you gotta share with others. It's also average about the location, you have to walk 5 minutes to the nearest mini market, underground market, etc. But it should be no problem for... More

If you arrive at Taipei main station you can easily reach this place by walking distance via subway, exit thru R4 at Zhongshan undergound metro mall, you will see this place at a small lane not far away. Why I choose this hostel? The main reason is the location and its really cheap, only about NT350 for a dorm bed.... More

A very cheap place to stay in a central location within walking distance of Taipei main station. If you don't mind very small rooms, this place is actually pretty great. Has a free washer with laundry powder and place to hang your clothes dry, computer and wifi, water including hot water, tiny kitchen with fridge, hair dryer, lockers (bring your... More

I booked a bad of a two people female dome. The room was really small, without window. Place was not big enough for two people's luggage. It would be a budget choice if u share the room with your friend, but it's horrible to share with a stranger. In all, the place was small but clean. You can find many... More

Taiwanmex is conveniently located in the heart of Taipei which is a good place to base oneself in going around the city. The owners, Magos and Raul are accommodating and they see to it that their guests have a wonderful stay. Raul even went as far as fetching us in the Taipei Bus station in the middle of the night... I stayed in Taiwanmex in 2010 with my family in its 6-bed mini house. We were very happy with its location, wifi, computer, TV and shower room, all ensuite in the 6 bed mini house. Just this month (Jan 2014), I went to Taipei with some friends and decided to use the 6 bed mini house facility in Taiwanmex again.... More
