I have spent a month living with this great family and I can only say that Im really grateful for the kindness and generosity of each member. You will enjoy working, relaxing, eating and watching the really impressive views of the mountain. You will experience the countryside life while enjoying the intelligence and wide knowledge of Govinda and Chetna at the same time. In conclusion, you will feel all the closeness and love that this family gives off.

I happen to find this beautiful place and stayed for a few days. The family were so lovely and the surroundings so peaceful that I didn't want to leave. I was recovering from a sore foot so wasn't able to help much on the farm. Govinda and Chatana didn't mind at all and were very welcoming and very relaxed. I was able to help with parts of the cooking and be on monkey watch! And otherwise spent my time on mountain watch (amazing views!), reading, chatting and learning about the organic farm and Nepali culture. It was one of the highlights of my trip. I highly recommend a visit to MVEF!

Mountain View Eco Farm & Home Stay: I stayed with this very nice and welcoming family (husband -Govinda- his lovely wife and their young son) on their Eco Farm in Begnas Lake, Nepal that has 2 very good comfortable sized visitor bedrooms with mosquito nets and more than enough room to move around in (even to do yoga) with an amazing view for just a few days and it was very relaxing. You are invited to take part in helping to prepare fresh meals from vegetables which are grown right on this family's Eco Farm and help our with farm duties. I recommend staying at this lovely farm house as it's only a short walk to coffee places and anything else you will need around the area and the view is just beautiful!! It really is a lovely spot to stay in. Find them on Facebook at facebook.com/mvefnepal www.mvef.org.np Govinda207@gmail.com

It's taken me a while to write this review as I have so much positive stuff to say! I really enjoyed my time at MVEF, staying for 11 nights as it was so hard to move on! Chetana and Govinda are well educated and part of what I would call 'the new generation of thinkers' in Nepal. They are happy to engage in conversation about all manner of topics including politics, economics, health and the environment. Govinda was vey relaxed in terms of working - although he was quite busy himself in the mornings, he never asked us to work until after breakfast (approx 9am) and we usually finished within a couple of hours because of the heat, as monsoon was approaching. Sometimes he would start working again in the afternoons but the approaching monsoon made this quite difficult. If you need a day's rest or want to explore the area you have the flexibility to do so, just show the respect of checking how that fits in with what tasks Govinda has planned for the day. I worked a maximum of 2 hours per day as we started late and finished early because of the heat, but it would probably be more at a different time of year. Chetana is a treasure with a good sense of humour and I really enjoyed our banter. She is an amazing cook and literally prepared a different main dish for every meal. She was happy to have me and others (up to 3 of us at one point!) in the kitchen, watching, asking questions and helping out where possible. She is clearly passionate about cooking and literally makes something different for every meal. Apparently a number of people have suggested she teach cooking classes and I agree! Given my dietary restrictions, Chetana was kind enough to make buckwheat chapati for dinner every night, something she had not tried before but mastered very quickly! We tried such foods as banana flowers with spices, potato and sesame paste, jack-fruit curry and even a vegan and gluten free carrot cake that Chetana just threw together with minimal ingredients! Everything we consumed came straight from the garden, was sourced locally or from their parents' properties. We even had fish from Begnas Tal with black/red rice which was delicious. I felt truly spoiled by the food on offer! Chetana also gave me natural/Ayurvedic medicines when I was not feeling well which was much appreciated. Chetana and Govinda spend plenty of time with volunteers/guests - chatting on the verandah or after meals, playing cards etc. You really feel like part of the family when you stay there. There is space in the house for everyone to sit around the table together to share meals or escape the rain or heat during the day and in the evenings. There is also space for to relax (hammock etc.) The rooms for volunteers are adjoined to the main house which makes it easy if you have any issues (Govinda removed a tarantula for me :)), and the rooms are big with plenty of light. There is electricity in the rooms and hot water in the shared shower for those cooler days. We did have some trouble with power outages due to the daily storms so come prepared with a power bank just in case. In most cases it was restored fairly quickly. Some people I met asked why I would pay to stay somewhere that I am expected to work, but it is pretty good value when you consider accommodation and all meals are included, not to mention the cultural exchange and genuine interaction with Nepali life. I can also see that the monetary contribution will help MVEF establish their demonstration farm near Rupa Tal, which will ultimately benefit the wider community. I wish Chetana, Govinda and Siddhartha all the best and genuinely hope I can bring others to visit some day!

Been solo traveling although at this farm I had the chance to meet all kinds of travelers. Plan was to stay for 1 week. However the atmosphere was so positive that I fell in love with these guys and stayed with them for 1 month. We`ve been working in the farm together, cooking together, building around the house, laughing and exchanging our cultures in this time. I will never forget them. Still laughing when thinking of the moment the monkeys came to steal the beans from the garden and we had to chase them away. Whether you are traveling alone, with friends or family and you wish to truly meet and get to know a traditional high minded family with good principles, have a stop at the farm. Don`t forget to check out the lake in the back. It`s wonderful to walk around or even take a dinghy with one of the locals for a small fee.
